Er, no. They were meant to be one game, but limitations split the game. In GS2, you are asked to put in a password from GS1, you get this when beating the game, it saves the characters and puts them back at those levels, as you recruit Isaac and Co. later

The argument for Dark Samus' story being still doesn't work. Marth, Ike, Lucina and Roy's stories are also all done, and their still in Smash. Same argument applies to Ness and Lucas, with the story of the Mother series being finished.

Dark Samus won't be playable (for Smash 4, at least) if only for Assist Trophy status, but @ Khoru is right, even if people would take Dark Samus as "another Samus" it is in no way actually Samus. And if we took Dark Samus's end of Prime 2 appearance it would be further distinguished from Samus. (That might be too gore-y of an appearance for it to have, though, and admittedly is very unlikely to happen since, unless I'm forgetting something, Dark Samus only appears as such in one encounter.)

I don't even think Dark Samus should be playable, IMO Samus by herself is sort of a huge thing of the Metroid series and no matter how much I love the franchise I think she alone represents the series best. It just frustrates me that what literally is a Metroid imitating Samus's appearance and has exhibited very different abilities on the whole gets dumbed down to "Samus clone." The SA-X is a Samus clone; Dark Samus is its own entity. If Dark Samus were a clone, that would be a developer oversight, not a sincere reflection of the character.

If anybody became playable I still think my idea waaaay back during Brawl's life cycle of Gandrayda as a playable character using her shapeshifting abilities to allow you to change to Rundas and Ghor would be a really fun and interesting thing, but since those characters were all hardly relevant in their own game and Prime 3 is 8 years old now, I don't think that'll ever happen. (We also got rid of all the transformation characters, so I don't think it would happen for that reason alone.)

CEO was apparently going to have something big for Smash, but since tourneys and competition aren't "exciting" it's just going to be another tournament.
Like when they announce a normal Direct and suddenly everyone expects Smash info when that really isn't the case.

Being dead doesn't mean anything to a character's chance of getting in Smash, I mean, we have Mega Man, Sonic and Pac-man after all.

Real talk tho, Dark Samus is the best choice if Ridley is out of boundaries(and before anything, I'm talking about the next game).
While Mother Brain is way more iconic, she would have the same problems as Ridley.
Also, the "it's just Samus" argument has been dead since Brawl was announced

They didn't hire a new director for Mega Man, they hired a new producer which isn't the same thing. I am not holding my breath for a great new game.

No Link's bloodline isn't cursed, the spirit of the Hero is. Its how the curse is still able to apply to all Link's in the downfall timeline and child timeline. Bloodline refers to people who are related weather it be distantly or closely blood related.

My main point is because in Metroid canon Space Pirates are known to mess with **** their not supposed to. Nintendo could easily have it, that some Space Pirate scientist try to bring her back, even though doing so is a stupid idea for them. And from what I remember Space Pirate Scientists are known for pursing ideas that are complete failures until it literally blows up their ship.

Now this is fully hypothetical but what do you guys think will happen if we do in fact have a new director next smash?
Is it possible the new guy will have a completely different idealogy maybe focusing more on newcomers than bringing vets back. Less focus on moveset?Etc etc.

Its entirety possible smash 5'ss speculation will be completely different and i find that neat.
