I wanted to main WFT because no one liked here at first. And dammit I'm not going to give up. But its really hard to land most of her attacks. Im slowly getting better. Some of the newcomers that I have worked really well with are Villager, Pacman, Brawler and Gunner. There are other newcomers that I like, but those are the best for me.

On the topic of Brawl hype/post-release, oh man, those were the days. And by "those were the days" I mean they were hectic as hell but I can look back on them semi-fondly because that was 8 years ago. I'm glad things have been more civil with Smash 4, because honestly, I don't think I could handle the same level of hostility as was present in the Melee vs. Brawl debate taking place literally everywhere on the forum.

It's honestly hilarious, because I got so ridiculously hyped up over Brawl (honestly, it was pathetic) but a month or so after release I realized that I hated it and it is, to this day, my least favorite Smash. I've had a lot of fun with various hacks in it, though, and admittedly it has some stages I loved that I wish had returned. (Spear Pillar, Frigate Orpheon [we finally get a stage proving there's more to Metroid than lava...and it gets replaced by another stage with lava, though at least it doesn't rise], Pirate Ship)

frigate orpheon is a really weird stage because it's like... one of the most boring environments in the prime series
maybe on your first playthrough it's creepy but then you realize nothing can harm you and you can get through it in ten minutes
valhalla does it much better

i'm not salty at all about phendrana, sanctuary, or skytown

Oh, totally agreed. Granted I loved the revisit to the frigate on Tallon IV if only for that wonderful music, but of all the creative and diverse environments in the Prime trilogy (or hell, the Metroid series in general), I don't understand why it's consistently decided to go with such a one-note theme, and then to pick such a weird, boring one when they finally break with tradition briefly. I agree, Valhalla would've been a much better stage like that if they had done it (that place absolutely gave me the creeps).

As far as top choices, Phendrana, Sanctuary, and Skytown are all of my favorite areas from each Prime game too so I'm with you there as well. And even beyond that, there are some pretty interesting picks they could've gone with that I still would've been happy about; deep Phazon Mines? Space Pirate Homeworld? Phaaze? And hell, that's just the really unique areas. There are also desert/ruin-y areas, some cool vegetative areas, other icy areas...etc. In every SSB installment I'm hoping they'll bring in one of the many unique Metroid areas, and every time it somehow gets boiled down to the same dark cave (or simulated cave, in the case of Pyrosphere) with lava at the bottom and I don't know how it happens.

That ROB hate was absolutely silly. I remember people spreading rumors that Geno was originally in the game but was replaced by ROB at the last minute. There was like absolutely no evidence backed up by this but I recall some Mario RPG fansite making such a weird theory about that.



Man, I think I'm really fortunate enough that just about everyone I wanted in Brawl actually got into the game sans Mega Man and Ridley (the latter who I said I would be okay with as boss too). Squirtle and Wolf were my unexpected wants (meaning I wanted them but thought they had slim chances, especially Squirtle), and boy that shocked me.

Oh I remember hearing about these Geno rumors

I'm glad Rosalina is in Smash, but I cannot play her at all.
Same with most of the newcomers.

I remember when I first played I was confused and sad as hell.

Because I really like Rosalina and seeing she would be playable, especially with luma by her side, made me really happy and excited. So, when the game finally came out for the Wii U and I tried her out I had no idea what I was doing or how she worked and thought I would never be able to play her.

However, shortly after testing her more and more I actually did get the hang of her and she is one of my best now!

On the other hand, I also really wanted to main Greninja, because I like his design so much, but I just can't get him to work. I have a really hard time controlling him and keeping up with having to be so precise with all his attacks

i just realized how smart microsoft is.....they didnt announce a banjo kazooie game so now nintendo wont have any reason to not ask for banjo in smash should he be one of the ballot winners(assumeing there are multiple ballot characters) so if they have one in development all they have to do is wait for the balot results if banjo gets announced wait untill the dlc is out for a week and BAM insant free advertisement

The spike is super hard to pull off. You have to be at a certain and perfect spot to pull it off and isn't simple as normal spikes, that's why it's satisfying to pull off if done right.

Oh god, I remember the HATE Sakurai received when the roster was out. It was probably just as venom if not more than SSB4's full roster reveal.

His popularity was dropped between the release of brawl and before the smash 4 ballout but his popularity did come back after the ballout appeared so he is popular like in brawl the whole fanbase did come back (but most of them are not in smashboards they are on different sites)

the whole fanbase did come back but most of them are not in smashboards anymore they are on different sites I have seen a lot of them but the fanbase were not "loud" as it was in brawl because the whole fanbase are not in the same place/site anymore like it was in brawl in smashboards.
