Mega Man hasn't had a new game of his own in only 5 years. Other franchises have it worse.

Meanwhile, the last Crash Bandicoot game that wasn't cancelled or mobile was released in 2008. Heck, Japan hasn't gotten a new Crash installment since that awful Mario Party clone on DS in 2006.

It makes sense, though. Birds are effectively modern dinosaurs, so the evolutionary metamorphosis there would make sense if it effectively reverted back to its old form, but stronger. Dragon is then the next logical step after dinosaur.

Speedy, sure, but Ridley's a highly advances species, so they have a bit of leeway, IMO.

Also, why is it that every time somebody brings up a long hiatus in a game franchise (or with anything, really, including TV shows and movies) people compete to figure out which fanbase is most deserving of that? 8 years is a long time. 10 years is also a long time. Multiple fanbases are allowed to be disappointed at the same time.

No we get other odd things like frogs and insects. But Ridley isn't a real animal. If we can accept bird people, giant brains and floating jellyfish than you can accept a slightly abnormal metamorphosis.

I'm more for balance patches because seriously Sakurai needs to bring back pre patch Mac and buff Marth, Falco, Palutena, Mewtwo, Samus and Zelda

I agree but I feel like Zelda or Palutena won't get anything meaningful in the end. Zelda is just a mess of a character that requires a total overhaul (like Project M), and considering Palutena already becomes better through custom moves (which is her thing), Sakurai probably thinks she's good enough with them on and doesn't need any major adjustments (to be fair, lightweight and superspeed would be absurd on someone who's already a really good character)...even though they basically don't exist in a competitive context oops

Someone like Samus could be salvaged by fixing her hitboxes, giving her killing throws worth a damn, etc but I think the above alformentioned characters would probably require too much work for Sakurai and his team to properly balance.

Well, all Swamp said was that there was a reason Metroid was highly ranked among bad fanbases. A worse fanbase doesn't technically debunk or really affect what he said at all.

And in fairness, while the sort of thinking he uses is symptomatic of the problems in the Sonic fanbase and I'd definitely argue that that fanbase is one of the worst, that video itself only proves that people do embarrassing things when they're younger, which I think most of us have already proved at some point or another.
