So does anyone here watch Game of Thrones? Apparently some major Major MAJOR spoilers are leaking right now as the filming begins.

Click below ONLY if you don't mind getting spoiled.

Jon Snow IS indeed alive and it appears he will fight Ramsey in episode 9 this season!

Because?

Why the **** do they do it?

There isn't actually a point.

Nintendo taking down a leak or someone claiming the game is their own? Perfectly justifiable.

Taking down someone who is playing the game out of love? That grants them no positives.
Nintendo is just like any other company. There is nothing wrong with them taking down a LP of THEIR own game.

All the mario maker hype, and I am sitting here saddened by the fact I can't get it yet. Hopefully I will for my birthday though.

"Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game?

There is a good deal of misinformation on the Internet regarding the backup/archival copy exception. It is not a "second copy" rule and is often mistakenly cited for the proposition that if you have one lawful copy of a copyrighted work, you are entitled to have a second copy of the copyrighted work even if that second copy is an infringing copy. The backup/archival copy exception is a very narrow limitation relating to a copy being made by the rightful owner of an authentic game to ensure he or she has one in the event of damage or destruction of the authentic. Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet."

Also

"Are Game Copying Devices Illegal?

Yes. Game copiers enable users to illegally copy video game software onto floppy disks, writeable compact disks or the hard drive of a personal computer. They enable the user to make, play and distribute illegal copies of video game software which violates Nintendo's copyrights and trademarks. These devices also allow for the uploading and downloading of ROMs to and from the Internet. Based upon the functions of these devices, they are illegal."
that, I knew it already, but the tricky part is this.

Dumping a rom is illegal.

Downloading a rom is illegal.

But using an emu is legal.

So, you get the idea, you can download and use dolphin how the heck you want, but the fact that you need a rom to make it work forces you to get illegal by getting it.

Which is why I still don;t consider a tas being played back as in itself illegal. You could anyway take the tas file into some hardware that would be played back by a real machine.

It shouldn't come as a surprise if you support the L+ R = J theory, which seems just about confirmed since they are filming
the tower of joy scene this season.

so, how many other game devs/pubs punish their customers for playing games
Does Nintendo have the same policies as Microsoft and Sony? Stop comparing them.
I never said I really AGREE with it; I just think it's justifiable. You have to understand that Mario ROMS could actually take away Mario Maker revenue.

Yeah, Smash has plenty of subtle JoJo references in the way some characters pose during certain moves.

Also, who thought it was a good idea unveiling an Arabian character in September 11th, of all days, considering some implications it may carry?
The only implication something as unrelated as an Arabian video game character being revealed for SF5 has for 9/11 is in people's head. Stupid people that is. I already have appropriate quotes from people who recognize the double standard and general stupidity of it.

I'll just say this because it needs to be said- Anyone who finds this date to be so inappropriate for something completely unrelated to the tragedy to be shown off just because a tragedy happened today several years ago are moronic and despicable hypocrites due to the fact that despite tragedies having occurred ever day at some point in history, people only care about this one and act as if others don't matter. And it's not as stalling every events due to the fact that tragedies have happened at a certain dates (when they are completely unrelated to said tragedies, mind you) does anything to help. In fact, if people treated every day like September 11, then nothing would ever get done and people would never be able to do anything with their lives.

Here is a new rumor about pokemon go and the NX
Good afternoon, /vp/. After seeing the announcement of Pokémon GO and the community response I was quite concerned with the assumption of AR usage in the app.

Fear not, dear friends, for I have news of the future to share with you.

For the past two years I've been working for the Google staff responsible for the real-world map documentation for Pokémon Go (currently managed by Niantic). We've been scouting locations to generate coherent Pokémon habitats for the game. I quit the project six months ago to go and serve as a missionary in Nigeria. I'll be staying in a village for the next 10 years of my life to spread the word of God, and before I do that, I'd like to share these wonderful news to make everyone as happy as I am right now. The Pokémon fans deserve to know the future. In the time I worked as a scout the project details were disclosed to the staff members.

In order to make this clear for everyone I'll split the details into sections as follows:pHASE 1 - Initial Release
Pokémon Go will be released in Fall 2016, starting with a gameplay consisting of the GPS-based Pokémon hunt, which will work in a way that's quite similar to Ingress. You'll get Pokémon nodes in your map and you'll get a chance to battle and capture them as soon as you get in range. The battles are identical to the main games. The backgrounds are not AR (more on that later), but they loosely match the terrain type you're in at the moment of the battle.

To engage in battle with other players AND get prize money you'll need to see them in person. You can battle over the internet, but that doesn't generate money (it does give you XP, though). We have tested this in the campus and you run into people while looking for Pokémon so often this wouldn't be a concern at all.

Other way to get PokéDollars is through Microtransactions, but the prices are quite cheap and you don't need money that much since there's a lot of randomly generated items spawned daily for you to find across the globe.

You can also trade locally and over the internet. Local trades give you experience boosts.

There's no breeding at release, since only the Gen 1 Pokémon will be available. You'll get natures and EVs/IVs, though.

Legendary Pokémon will work like any MMO Boss fight. They'll spawn at important city landmarks and will have a time limit. You'll need to down them to zero in order to catch them. Not everyone gets the Pokémon once it is defeated. It's more like rare mounts dropping from bosses in WoW.

This is all that's available in the initial release. No AR, and no Pokémon after Gen 1.

(cont)]PHASE 2 - Nintendo NX

After the game is realeased and it becomes viral, the second stage of the plan comes: Pokémon in real world.

The first release of Pokémon Go will serve as a way to get people interested into the game. All the parties involved are quite confident about the popularity it will reach. The only downside about the whole deal: it doesn't look like the commercial.

But fear not. Right in time for Chrismas, the Nintendo NX Android Phone will be officially released. This is no ordinary phone, though, as it will bring a revolutionary hardware tech derived directly from Google's Project Tango: integrated Motion tracking camera, 3D depth sensing, Accelerometer, Ambient Light detection, Barometer, Compass, GPS, Gyroscope and a new type of battery which will last way longer than modern phones. All of this will be used to provide one important ability modern smartphones lack: 3D mapping of your surroundings.

The Nintendo NX phone will have many third parties apps, just like any Android phones. Some apps include a tracker for blind people with voice feedback, a home-decorating tool and a wardrobe. These are just a few which will be announced with the system, but many more will come from the community and developers.

(cont)Now, here comes the interesting part: one of the release titles for the Nintendo NX will be a enhanced version of Pokémon GO, with AR capabilities. I've seen this at work and it is INCREDIBLE. It works something like this: you use your phone as a Pokédex Scanner (what it is actually doing is generating a 3D map of your surroundings to use as a stage for the Pokémon fights), then after a while, you'll see one or more Pokémon in your area, and you can send your own Pokémon to fight them. They are correctly placed in 3D space within your phone screen over the video capture from the camera. The animation work they're doing for this is just unbelievable. Some Pokémon climb over real-life objects to perform things like Critical Hits an the like. Can't even describe how good of an experience it is.

They expect to have generated enough hype at that point so everyone will be eager to acquire the new phone. Pokémon GO won't be the only app in the phone, of course, but it is it's main selling point.

Normal smartphone users will still be able to play the game, but will have more regular kinds of battles instead of the AR experience. All in all, the phone doesn't change the gameplay that much, but seeing the Pokémon in real world alone is just way too good of a thing to let it slip.

Later generations and gameplay elements from those generations will come as expansion packs later on (unsure if that implies a cost).

(cont)

PHASE 3 - Beyond the Screen

I won't talk much about this, but expect some sort of compatibility with devices similar to the HoloLens. Won't happen in the near future, though.

This is pretty much what you should expect in the coming years. I believe the world will be changed with this technology and Pokémon Go will be remembered as one of the most revolutionary things in the history of videogames. It's too good to be true, I know, but they're working on it. I've seen it and I can't wait for you guys to enjoy it.

I'm not sure if I'll get to see it while I'm at my service, but I'll sure do my best to try and experience this revolution alongside everyone else. I hope you enjoy these exciting news as much as I enjoyed helping create it.

Which could be recorded on such hardware and Nintendo could be taking a video off your channel and a potential copyright strike against you for basically doing nothing wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Welp. I just posted on Miiverse and reported my self :p. Lets see how this goes XD.

I know its pretty much meaningless at this point...

...but might as well try.
I should point out that one can get infracted for pointless reporting on Miiverse.

Unless you put offensive content in that post I doubt that much is going to happen.

But the next question is how much does it take away?
It would be hard to ballpark something like that but 'how much' is an unimportant question anyway. It makes a lot of sense for Nintendo to not want stuff floating around that would essentially devalue their product.

Kinda sucks too, because tools like Lunar Magic are really good.

Ehhhhh, I dunno tbh.

I think the whole "how much" question is important to me tbh.

If its the ROMS that are that much of a detriment to Super Mario Maker's value as a game and the $$$ it could potentially make, why not take down the Mario ROMS from the websites that supply such ROMS?

Taking down videos of said ROMS isn't going to do much if the people can still easily access Mario ROMS and use them and Lunar Magic to make their own courses to their hearts content without the need to buy SMM.

Still, can we agree that his videos are painful?
Well, of course, I recall laughing a lot with my friends when we first discovered his videos. :p (I think the first one I saw was his rant on the 2DS.)

Yeah stopped reading after it said Nintendo phone NX. The NX was announced early so people wouldn't worry about Nintendo just becoming a straight mobile developer. So defiantly safe to say this rumour isn't real.

Meh, I'd rather see the consoles themselves.
From what I can tell, the leak implies it is a phone, separate from the console, but I could be wrong.

Well, what I pointed out above still stands, plus there are a lot of details here, that at the very lest, should be considered before disregarding the leak.

Well I'm not sure if you read the books, but in ADWD:

Jon hears word from Ramsey that hes been tormenting his sister, and that he "killed" Stannis. Jon gets pissed and grabs his sword and is basically heading to mess Ramsey up, and then hes betrayed and killed by the watch. Not a major difference from the show, but the show omitted that last bit about Ramsey. We'd assume that when he gets revived in book 6, he'll still have the same mindset of killing Ramsey and will eventually fight him, so it would naturally make sense for the show to follow that route as well. Fans are already dubbing this "B**tard Bowl or Snow Bowl." Oh and its not 1 v 1, as Jon has the wildlings to fight Ramseys army.

It's a question that's difficult to answer, and I doubt Nintendo or their lawyers actually know. Could be hundreds of dollars, could be hundreds of thousands of dollars. The point is Nintendo doesn't want risks.

Yeah stop reading after it said Nintendo phone NX. The NX was announced early so people wouldn't worry about Nintendo just becoming a straight mobile developer. So defiantly safe to say this rumour isn't real.
That's...actually a pretty valid point.
Although knowing Nintendo, they wouldn't just make a phone...they'd do some crazy **** with it that they think you didn't know you wanted...when it turns out you just didn't want it.

'COROCORO USUALLY LEAKS ON THE 10TH' THEY SAID
'COROCORO USUALLY LEAKS ON THE 12TH' THEY SAY AFTERWARDS
I can see the typhoon being the main reason for delay, and while I wouldn't get to hyped yet, sometimes the bigger issues have leaked later. So maybe. this issue is bigger.

From what I can tell, the leak implies it is a phone, separate from the console, but I could be wrong.

Well, what I pointed out above still stands, plus there are a lot of details here, that at the very lest, should be considered before disregarding the leak.
The NX was said to be a straight gaming console mainly, so we should disregard this rumour because of that fact.

I don't see Nintendo making a phone though, I see them taking the DS and and putting it glasses so we are ALWAYS connected to them.

Edit: Meaning that we get Virtual reality AND Augmented reality at the sametime

Again though, it's not saying the console is the phone, it's something separate. The name NX phone, if this is real, is probably a phone that is cross compatible with the system. We should wait to we hear more on both though.

It is really "sweet" how some sensasionalist people are treating the crane incident on Grand Mosque.

Here's the thing that people never caught on about. Capcom USA and Playstation's US/EU channel hasn't posted anything yet at all and we haven't gotten a official render released to the public yet neither the trailer.

If anything they probably knew and held off the trailer until tomorrow but spoiled it for the Dubai games show today
Good thing I read before I posted this time. I was going to post almost the exact same thing.

That said, while 9/11 is a sensitive subject for some, the reveal of an Arabic character shouldnt be offensive on any day. 9/11 was an act of terrorism, not an act of Arabia. It isnt right be offended by a geographical representative in a game because you were hurt by an extremist group that makes up less .1% of the total population. Being sensitive about a terrible event is one thing, but it's wrong to focus those feelings on people (real or not) that had nothing to do with it.

Wait, they had a typhoon? Damn, I can wait a bit longer for Zygarde's form if it means they're okay
Yesterday 4chan were saying there is a typhoon, it's was only really bad in Tokyo, according to users, but many people did not want to go out with weather like that. It seems like people were safe, which is good though. And I just checked a few different corocoro's. One with the fossils and more in XY was leaked on the 12th of the month it came out, while two others focusing on minor things released the 13th and 14th. So we could go either way in terms of content atm. It all depends on if people actually went out, or if the stores haven't gotten it yet in Japan.

"But, but strofiko, you don't understand! Showing off a fictional character completely unrelated to the events on 9/11 is wrong because he's an Arab, but a crane collapsing on people in the Middle East and killing them is no big deal because as we all know, tragedies happening to Americans is faaaar more important than tragedies happening to Middle Easterners!"

Disgusting double standard, I say.

Damn, a Dutch hospital flooded recently so I can't say I can't relate

We had 2 cranes fall in a pretty populated city a while ago. Somehow there were no deaths iirc
