I was reading sirlin's book on his website and I noticed on his list of best articles he had an article in regards to smash. I read it and it turns out that Nintendo had sirlin make a 10 part video guide on how to play smash like a professional.
Through out the video super smash brothers is refereed to as a fighting game (not a party game) and the videos show many advance techniques while teaching the basics of smash. This includes telling new players about king dedede's infinites and how to Smash DI/regular DI attacks.
The final video caught my eye the most however. It is a tournament video of Ken playing CPU in the evo 2008 finals. This is a blatant admittance that smash is both a fighter and competitive and that Nintendo is going out of it's way to exile MLG and the entire competitive smash community.
