Anyone who thinks that the Wii U is failing should really look at the Sega Dreamcast's history. Now THAT console was a real failure.People saying the Wii U is a failure and that Nintendo has been receiving serious net losses obviously don't know that the Wii U (despite struggling) still turned up a profit. They just aren't expecting nearly as much sales now for 2014. System still isn't a failure, but still needs some heavy lifting if they want to make a profit this year. Smash, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong, and Bayonetta may not be enough. Here's hoping for some surprise holiday titles to show up like Pokémon X / Y, 3D World, and Link Between Worlds for the Wii U during this year in future Nintendo Directs (and hopefully this one if it does end up existing).
I haven't seen this, all I've heard was that they're expecting an operating loss for the fiscal year (up to March 2014)People saying the Wii U is a failure and that Nintendo has been receiving serious net losses obviously don't know that the Wii U (despite struggling) still turned up a profit. Worldwide directs are every two months though, and that's where we get our character reveals (Luigi, Sonic, Rosalina)@ Cereal Bawks Well there has been at least one sort of Direct each month since September 2012.
Correction: Billions in yen, but millions in dollars. The operating loss isn't as worse as the previous fiscal years. In fact, they're still making a profit off their systems, but both the Wii U and 3DS underperformed for Nintendo this year.Nintendo is reporting billions in loss. It is a failure. But Nintendo has a potential plan. They can offer Nintendo games as downloads on phones, pads, touchscreens, ect. Because Nintendo owns its products, it doesn't have to pay a licensing fee (which Sony and Microsoft would have to do for many games), so mostly profit.
There's also Hyrule Warriors and Monolith Soft's new untitled Xeno game to fill the gaps.People saying the Wii U is a failure and that Nintendo has been receiving serious net losses obviously don't know that the Wii U (despite struggling) still turned up a profit. JANUARY 27, 2014 ALBA 1 COMMENT
Two Tribes has apparently teased an unknown title that’s in development for Wii U. Based on a tweet from the studio, several indie developers – including KnapNok Games, Gaijin Games, Black Forest Games and WayForward – are collaborating on a project for Nintendo’s console. It’s unclear whether the studio was teasing an imminent announcement or an actual game launch, but the mysterious project will be revealed this week.
This week @KnapNokGames, @GaijinGames,@BlackForestTeam, @WayForward and @TwoTribesGameshave something pretty nice coming for Wii U owners!
Are you tellin me that the fact that I bough the trash known as Toki Tori 2+ could actually be useful?Update: Turns out the tease was for this Wii U eShop sale.
I wouldn't count them out so soon. Sometimes when a big release happens, they put some of their old games on sale to get some extraUpdate: Turns out the tease was for this Wii U eShop sale.
NINTENDO TO UNVEIL ITS APPROACH TO MOBILE DEVELOPMENT ON THURSDAY?
Respected Japanese news publication The Nikkei says that Nintendo is set to announce its mobile plans on Thursday. The company is apparently expected to go mobile within this year. It won’t be offering traditional mobile games, but instead will use mobile platforms such as iOS and Android to market its games and bring mini games and playable demos of console games that can only be purchased in full on Nintendo hardware. The content will be free-to-play.
and did you know that Ice Climber released on that same day January 30, 1985 so maybe that means we'll get Ice ClimbersHopefully that means there is a direct on Thursday. It would be the perfect way to unveil their plans.
Looks like the hype train is back in motion!
I don't know if you made that yourself, but just replace the Investor Meeting with "2014"Just found that theres going to be an investors meeting on the 30th...Found it on facebook.https://www.facebook.com/NonspecificActionFigure64

March 2014 confirmed as Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 8 and Pokemon Wii U release date.I haven't seen this, all I've heard was that they're expecting an operating loss for the fiscal year (up to March 2014)
Oof...that's a relief, Nintendo has too much integrity to degrade themselves to smartphone level.NINTENDO DENIES SMARTPHONE SOFTWARE RUMOR

I'm lost as to why you think 85 mins from now we will know about a direct or not. I'm 99% sure we aren't.Only roughly 85 Minutes remain until the moment they might announce a direct for tomorrow.
