Maybe every other RPG and not Earthbound (which I just beat for the 7th time on Wii U). Now I can really crack down on this game.

Speaking of buffs/debuffs, my dumbass last night was messing with the fusing and I fused a demon that increased evasion and speed, I think? Anyhow, I wasn't paying close attention since I wasn't alone in the room and was talking to several people and I fused that demon to get another that nulls electricity which is what I wanted to fight Medusa. I tend to have this poor habit of not paying close attention to what I'm doing when it comes to RPGs. Gotta work on that.

Having no way to increase defense kinda throws me off and still does. I'm realizing this isn't your typical RPG.

Different is good, I guess.

I never have enough time for buffs. Except for FF 4 where buffs and debuffs are required.

But then again, I'm usually 10 levels higher than I'm suppose to be everywhere because I grind like mad

I don't mind the pacing. It's more of a Xenoblade kind of pacing where you can either explore the extra areas or go on ahead. Without a destination arrow or longer cutscenes, I'm sure it'll bother people a little more than Xenoblade though.

SMT generally have this intentional empty kind of feeling though because of its setting, and that extends to its pacing a well.

I just looked at my list of special fusions and saw the silhouette of one of the best demons.

Only twelve more levels until all my enemies Die For Me!

☯ I never would had thought Senran Kagura will be in the US, but today proved me wrong... I need a bigger SD card now with Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies and Senran Kagura Burst coming out.

I'll be the first to admit that I've never played a Phoenix Wright or Professor Layton title (and know little about them), but from the positive reception I've seen both of the games receive, I'm all for the vs. game due next year. It looks interesting, and if I can get the best of both worlds from one game, then why not?

First impressions of Mario and Luigi Dream Team.
I think Dream Team's largest flaw is the fact that it doesn't feel "fresh" (for lack of a better word), especially when you compare it to previous titles. It doesn't bring in too many new features from what I've seen so far. The gameplay is slightly more interesting because of Luigi's interaction in the dream world as well as using the circle pad to defend in several directions. However, the world feels slightly bland and a little unoriginal. The overworld seems kind've meh mostly because its typical of what we've seen before in previous titles. The dream world is a little boring too because it seems too much like the insides in Bowser's Inside Story. This may change as I explore the dream world more.

Aside from that, the game is absolutely gorgeous. The 3D effects are easily one if not the best I've seen on the 3DS. The visuals and models are great and the music is amazing (this is one of the damn battle themes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B43bXrRVPFE&list=SPz5gUls4mkX-SXZqAqzGJPjLNn_fLKYJG). While this game doesn't bring in too many new elements, it does succeed in improving it slightly. It isn't a must have, but players who have never played any of the Mario & Luigi titles before should definitely think about picking this up.

I will say, that countering/dodging enemy attacks is a lot harder than it has been. I usually never get hit in these games. ._.''

Also, I almost got non-standard Game Over'd. I was freaking out because I hadn't saved in a lonnnnng while, and totally wasn't expecting that to happen in this game.

Yeah, they really stepped up the difficulty, which is really nice. This installment by far feels the most RPG out of all the titles so far for better or worse.

Been playing more SMT4 since I finished Tales of Xillia. This game gets a ton easier as you go on. I haven't bothered fusing any new demons in awhile since I haven't encountered any difficult roadblocks recently.

Beat SMT4, and got the ending on the Law path. Great game. It had a slow start at Naraku and had my doubts, but I was hooked once I reached Tokyo.

Just around 37 hours. I could've put more time into it by trying to do all the sidequests, but I wanted to just complete the story.
Plus I can take care of the sidequests on a new game+ playthrough.

I think that starting fresh, the game could take 30 hours or so.

As for which game I liked more this year, SMT4 or FE, that's hard to say, but I'm leaning towards FE. SMT4 was a ton of fun. While I wouldn't say it was extremely difficult, it was more stressful than FE which would be easier to replay (which is funny since it's FE).

Haha, I think my current SMT4 file is over 40 hours and I have no idea how close I am to finishing it.

But I take forever in jrpgs.
I just can't leave all those sidequests alone.

I hate redoing sections and bosses over again and having to grind if I'm not in a high enough level, so I'm paranoid about completing side quests because I feel like if I don't do them I'll be unprepared and cooked for the next section of an RPG. I end up putting like 20+ more hours at least than I should in any given RPG.

How far are you? And I hear people taking up to 70 hours or more because of sidequests, but I just ended up skipping most of them.

Tayama wants to meet with me in Shibuya.

I've also been exploring demon domains whenever I find one and have been doing a lot of fusion(so I've spent a lot of time just gathering macca, as well as leveling up demons to get all their skills.)

My main character is level 41, so I imagine I'm about halfway through the game.

Cool, smashboards is back.

I finished SMTIV while it was down, it was an amazing game. One of my favorites in the SMT series.
I managed to get neutral even though I didn't bother to balance my choices. I probably would have got chaos but I think the quests balanced it out.

It was surprisingly easy towards the end. The main character is a beast, good HP, MP and over 200 in magic, my demons only needed to set up Debilitate, Luster Candy, and the reflect spells.

There is still a lot for me to do, like getting that Cu Chulainn armor set, but I'm taking a break for a while.

I kind of dropped SMTIV, I'll get back to it later (never)
Got back to ACNL though, I can only put in a little bit everyday now. It's strange, I've experienced both the "play the game like crazy and create your town how you want it to be" and now that I only play like 30 min to an hour it's more of a laid back pick up flowers and talk to neighbors relaxing game.

also eshop games! found out how to beat a level in Mighty Milky Way so I FINALLY made progress.

Speaking of Mighty, I'm so happy that I held off on Mighty Switch Force 2 now that it's coming to Wii U.

I have been kinda leaving my 3DS to gather dust as I wait for the next big thing. All I hear about the 3DS is just a bunch of JRPGs, which doesn't really catch my interest all that much.

Gah, I'm now reminded that I never beat SMTIV. I forget where I left off, but it didn't feel very exciting to play and my desire to play was proportional to the excitement I was feeling.

I do need to finish it though, I never got the penis monster I heard so much about.
