Has anyone tried HarmoKnight yet? It looks pretty good.

I'll probably try it at some point.

I just booted up EO4, got overwhelmed by all the choices I had to make at the beginning (choosing and naming all the characters in my party, mostly) and turned it off. My break is only so long at work, I don't have time for this now! It looks really good though. :3

That's the hardest part of the game!
I need to get back into it, but I want to beat Dark Moon first (I'm doing like a level a day, but it's the weekend so I should be able to do more)

I'm really looking forward to when Animal Crossing comes out... One of the main reasons I haven't played the series much in recent years is because of lifestyle changes and my free time to play video games is generally later at night. The problem with this is Tom Nooks shop is closed and pretty much the whole town is shut down when I can play, and I've always been against time traveling or changing the clock. The cool thing about the 3DS version is you can set up the town so that there's stuff to do late at night so I won't miss out on the experience. Also, since there are 4 types of town personalities, I've coordinated with some friends so that each one of us get a different one so there will always be something to do. I can hardly wait! The GC version was so much fun back in the day.

Is anyone else here really looking forward to the game?

I'm really looking forward to it as well.

Man, I have so many things to play. EO4, Luigi's Mansion, and I've been convinced to pick up Monster Hunter as well.

Yes Animal Crossing :3
Only two months!

Honestly I feel like the handheld AC is much better for playing than the console ones. In ACWW I just played it when I could and would shut the DS. City Folk I would hit Home and come back two hours later which is kinda lame.

Put this under unconfirmed but people at NeoGAF are claiming that since the 3DS firmware update we just had has improved some software performance like improved framerate, less game slowdowns, and even faster loading times. I tried Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion (a not so bad Smash clone that I've noticed some laggy frame rate before), and, not sure if placebo, but the game seems to run much smoother. And in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon it feels like there has been less frame rate drop than before. But again, not sure if placebo.

Does anyone else have something to say on this?

Gotta check on this. Time to try out the game with some of the worst frame rate possible: Code of Princess. But if this is true, then good. The menus on the 3DS were slow as snails.

I wish people played Code of Princess, the online is really fun (and I'm actually semi-good at it) :(
I doubt it actually helps that game, but I think the update did fix some things with Streetpass Plaza (it seems a bit faster but maybe that's just me hoping)

Yeah, it doesn't help. At least I can return to the home menu faster now.

I don't have enough money to throw. ;___;

So many good games to play...
The only things I have right now is a swapnote update, which I can now take pictures and record without leaving the software for 3ds camera and sound.

I saw you playing Luigi's mansion though, or have you 100%d it?
I'm committing to not buying anything until animal crossing...god I want that game so much.

I have Dark Moon to beat still, EO4, a bunch of eshop/VC games, and games on Wii U. Gonna try to beat at least one game before MH3U gets here on Monday

Well, I believe that Nintendo wants the Wii U and the 3DS to connect with one another seamlessly, so no doubt some things of the 3DS need to change to achieve that goal.

That's not surprising, companies always want some sort of connectivity between their consoles and handhelds. I'm more surprised that it didn't ship with that seamless compatibility. No doubt Nintendo probably developed the Wii U and 3DS simultaneously.

god loving my lineup so far. FE, KH, OoT, Virtue's last reward (for $10!!), Kid Icarus, and Tales of the Abyss (loving this one oh my god). I might pick up Luigi's Mansion so I can get mario land for free, but mario games are meh, and I have enough of those on my Wii.

Agreed.

Has anyone tried Soul Hackers yet? I'm inclined to pick it up for SMT reasons. While I've heard that it's good, I've also heard that it's dated, and maybe not in a good way.

Going to pick it up after this class. The game was ahead of its time and only dated in some small aspects, imo. It's nothing like Persona 1 of being dated.

It is certainly dated, in many ways. But like Minato said, I don't think it's as bad as P1.

I'm really not far at all though, so I can't give a good opinion of it yet. I think I will enjoy it, I think the closest comparison gameplay wise to recent Megaten games would be Strange Journey or P2, if that gives you any ideas.

I think I like the gameplay over P2, battles are faster and Demon fusion actually exists.

Wow, Nintendo Direct was pretty good. Japan's showed off Zelda LttP sequel. Bravely Default is unfortunately scheduled for 2014 in the US.

I don't care too much about the top-down Zelda games unless it's OoA, but the LttP sequel looks kind of interesting.

More importantly, and actual confirmation for Bravely Default has me excited.

I'm also excited for the bonuses with SMT IV, which also explains the $50 price tag everyone has been overreacting about.

Overall, this Nintendo Direct was more than I was personally expecting; A Link to the Past sequel, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy localization announced, and the Shin Megami Tensei IV limited edition bundle. . . Though I long for Majora's Mask 3D, I'd be lying if I said I was completely let down today.

3DS has too many top tier RPGs out and coming out this year. Anymore would make my wallet burn. x_x
I really hope we get to see Ex Troopers and Time Travelers some time soon :)

I honestly don't know why they're freaking out about it. It's just $10 more dollars jesus christ.

I'm pretty interested in the Link to the Past sequel. It's nice to see Nintendo revisit 2D LoZ, hopefully we can move with the thing designed for movement this time.

Uwhaaa....LTTP sequel, and a Mario RPG 2 with tornadoes made entirely of Luigis? And they both look good? Hm, I may actually be finding another game to get for my 3DS once I've gotten RE Revelations.

Are we sure it's not a remake? Because it's feeling very remake-ish from everything I've seen.

Not that that's a bad thing, I've been meaning to go back to ALTTP for a while now. A few days ago a friend and I were discussing if ALTTP is hard at all and my memory failed me.

They mentioned the dungeons would be different during Nintendo Direct.

That and there's that "become a drawing on the wall" thing.

Nintendo's Bill Trinen teases the title of this game:
"There is a '2' in the Japanese title. So, yeah, I think as I described today, it's an all-new game, it is an all-new story. From a story perspective there are connections, so it does fall after A Link to the Past. And it's set in the same world, but introduces that new gameplay mechanic. So, yeah, I guess by that definition ...
Interesting... Unless it's like Four Swords, this could be the first Zelda game to have a number to represent a sequel not related to the sequel number (this will be the 17th Zelda game). Now I'm even more interested in the Japanese title.

I hear after the LttP game gets released, they'll announce a new sequel to either OoA or Majora's Mask. Or a remake of MM.

Please, that MM remake rumor has been going on for ages.

Man, I remember when it was cool to hate on that game. It really wasn't until the past few years that suddenly its popularity exploded and it somehow became a piece of deep angsty art.

Lol. A lot of people hated Majora's Mask in those days. I never had a N64, so I was indifferent to it. But I will say OoT was so overrated. It is a good game, but too much hype surrounds that game.
