From the sounds of things people are talking like the Giants are favored. We do realize we are dealing with a hungry Tom Brady who hasn't held the trophy in years right? Don't me wrong I want the Giants to take care of business, but we are going to see a beast from New England the likes of which we may have not seen before.
I keep saying this. Brady is too hungry no one's gonna beat him. Quick release negates pass rush, and Belichick wont be outsmarted by Old man Tom Coffin again.

I hope all these things otherwise i have to buy a giants jersey because of a bet i have with a friend.

brady has yet to play well against teams with a winning record (steelers, giants, and ravens)

the defense has a hole in it larger than the grand canyon

the giants beat them once this year with their line shuffled around and no hakeem nicks

and lastly, brady is at his worst when facing 7 men in coverage, and what do the giants do more-so than any other team in the league? drop 7 men in coverage

the giants may not have had a great regular season, but their personal on defense is brady's worst nightmare, he wants teams to blitz and the giants never do, it's a key reason why the giants are allowing an average of 13 points against them in the past 5 games

Well, if there's one thing I learned this year, it's that you don't piss off Brady. I honestly felt he was being disrespected in both games against Denver. Now Denver is super suspect, but they do play well from time to time.

Also, Pats D is not terrible. It's more of a bend, but not break mentality in which you are more likely to get a FG rather than a TD. However, if there is any QB that can break that D, Eli is as good as it gets.

For now, I'm just curious to see who will they stick on Gronk and Hernandez. I don't see Welker as an issue, but I'm not sure if the Giants LBs are as good in coverage as say Ray Lewis and gang.

no, wes welker is the problem, he always has a good game against the giants, we've actually been pretty good against TEs this year

and gronk has a very high ankle sprain, and the likelihood of him playing seems pretty slim (as doctors say), but we would have more trouble against hernadez, who is the faster of the two anyways

maurkice pouncy (steeler's starting center) had the same deal last year, sprained ankle in AFC championship game but couldn't play the superbowl

and i know a center doesn't have to move like a TE has to, let alone, i think gronk's ankle might be worse than pouncey's was

But centers are also less athletic and more top heavy =/. And you can't compare the two given it's different from player to player depending on one's flexibility. There's a reason why a guy like LeBron James can shake off any sort of ankle sprains like its nothing after a night. I still think he's gonna play even if he is "limited." Especially given the fact he finished the game last week.

pouncey did the same thing

the swelling doesn't start until 24-48 hours after the injury

doctor's said that they'd be pleased to see gronk play, which doesn't look too good

that lateral play was great

drew brees going for the extra point

the NFC is pulling out every possible play

You can argue the grand canyon actually doesnt exist, imio theres just a giant hole where it "should" be

Gronk not wearing the boot on media day. Saying he is day to day.

Btw, am I the only one who gets annoyed with the media hyping up the SB for 2 straight weeks? Every First Take episode has been about Gronk's ankle and Brady's legacy. Sports Center has something about the Superbowl going on, that it just becomes redundant. I mean my gosh, even if it was my 49ers, I would get annoyed.

Thats why i dont pay attention to football during the two week break, except for medical reports and the pro bowl.
Oh and coaching changes/free agency stuff.

*shrug* There's a reason why it's such a huge sporting event, both in-person and on television. It would be strange not to have at least a week's worth of hype. Storylines like Brady's career help, too. Imagine if the Broncos had somehow gotten to the Super Bowl :awesome:

I'm just saying, how much more can you hear of the same thing over and over? In my opinion, the first week of the two weeks should be used for minor news, and then hype things up in the second week. To go on about it for 2 straight weeks is an insult to our intelligence, and also an insult to what journalists believe is quality news.

I haven't given the NFL much attention.

I mean, now that the season is over, the most exciting part of the whole thing is over. Multiple teams. Many games. Tons of Shenanigans.

By this point, it revolves around teams most people don't ****ing care about, I don't understand how ratings remain the same - probably boston bandwagoners, being the most winningest city in the country. But you'd think those who aren't would not even care because they've seen the team too often already. It gets old for everyone else.

The only reason I am interested is because I am a New Yorker, and thank god New York found its way to the end. That and I REALLY ****ing hate Pats, so I'd be watching it for these reasons - support my city, and see pats lose, if they do. Although, I been watching their games just for that reason all season, and I've been sorely disappointed. :glare:

I usually watch 3 or 4 games every week anyway, if you enjoy the game your team doesn't necessarily have to be playing

Sometimes it's even a little more enjoyable because watching your team can be more stressful

mountains of salt the jets aren't in the big game
a tl:dr interpretation :awesome:

I at least have something forward to. The beard, dragging Brett Keisel along with it, is in Indy for the Super Bowl.

People can't keep their hands off it!

The salt isn't for just football, though.

I'm tired of seeing boston in championships. Bruins. Celtics. Red Sox.

And while I am a Jets fan, I am also a New York fan. Proud of Giants making it all the way.

Well the Celtics are dead, Boston Red Sox sucked last year, Patriots will probably be in contention next year, and Bruins are doing well.

LMFAO. AGold Star given to Eric Mangini on First Take for giving a good point Stephen A.

Skip: We have gold stars?! Why didn't I get a gold star?!

Yeah, I don't think the team has anything to do with the webmasters and their trolling.

Pri funny, though

All this talk from the Giants side is really making me want to reconsider who I root for. My love for Eli + Coughlin vs my hate for every Giant trash talker.

Patriots trash talk more by praising their opponents and then crushing them 219540125910-20.

I'm still rooting for Giants just because of NFC East. Yes, we hate them, but I'm sure we hate the Pats more anyway.

Well you never know if it's praising by being legitimate or by trash talking. When you're just down talking somebody, it's never ever a compliment lol. I just hate when people get overconfident, though I do enjoy them losing.

Even though Vegas has the Pats as favorite, it seems like the general public has the Giants winning it. Another reason to root for the Pats.

I dunno, I'll just root for whoever is down in the last 2 mins.

I have no vested interest in this game sadly lol, don't much care for either side. Will make it easier to deliver pizzas in the middle of this

:phone:
