How about give us Typlosion, Samurott and Decidueye for a Pokemon Trainer, like what was speculated with Pokemon Legends? Typlosion can be the fast speedster with alot of mobility moves like Flame Wheel and whatnot. Samurott can be the heavy fighter with a decent range to his attacks thanks to their shell swords. And Decidueye can be the ranged, yet tricky fighter that uses moves that try to keep fighters from getting too close to Decidueye. And we get a Gen 2 and 5 Pokemon while also getting the other wanted Gen 7 starter for Smash.
Seems fine to me! Actually very much simplifies my idea in a good way! Am for it.

Pyra is perfect as is. They only needed to make some minor tweaks because the ratings board is that stubborn.
You're proving my point.

They can't be direct imports from Xenoblade because they had to make those "minor tweeks."

I still think PT and Pythra should transform with Shield B rather than Down B.

I just think Shield B would be a great input reserved for non-attack status moves.
Interesting... Would oos specials be affected or is it a move that can only be used if you aren't holding shield already kinda thing?

It is interesting to imagine Shield B uses for those that don't have mechanics (like Mario or DK) and the new attacks that a Ness or Cloud could have if their down specials were changed to Shield B moves.

Another button would work too, I don't use them much but aren't the sticks on a joycon also buttons like L3/R3 on a Sony controller?

If I had to add another three-pokemon team, I would go with a "Youngster" who has a regional rodent (either Sentret or Bunnelby), bug (either Ariados or Vikavolt), and bird (I don't particularly care which one is selected). Those "genres" of Pokemon are arguably as iconic as the starter triangle, and they have nothing in Smash. The Youngster trainer class is arbitrary, but they're the ones that usually have these early game Pokemon.

So, I guess it would be redundant to have Garchomp paired with Cynthia in Smash? Ngl, I'd actually like to see that...
Cynthia also uses a Lucario right ? And a Gardevoir? That seems like a good trio of Pokemon characters coupled with an important trainer to boot. Am down for it!

Gardevoir, no. That's Diantha's ace pokemon.
Instead of the 2 stars aforementioned, she has a much more atypical selection of pokemon.

There's discussion of a lot of previous series that already are in the game. My opinion: most of them have the characters that matter. Would like Zelda to have new characters, perhaps, maybe trident pig Ganon instead of FalconDorf, but I am aware people are averse to Smash characters having big changes.

That all said, I'm personally more interested in new series, first or third party, though third parties are very much more likely to drive up interest at this point. Still, thinking on it, the major recurring Nintendo series that don't have characters in yet, off the top of my head, are ExciteBike, Nintendo/Advance Wars, Panel de Pon (to an extent), Custom Robo, Nintendogs, Rhythm Heaven, Style Savvy, and if you really stretch it, Golden Sun, Starfy, and Chibi-Robo. Some of the characters to add from these feel obvious if you know of them, but Nintendogs always feels weird to think about. Either you have realistic dogs, or the trainers most don't really think about, both of which seem odd as inclusions for different reasons. A stage may be adequate in most people's view, but perhaps a guy throwing a frisbee and dog bones at people could be kind of funny. I think if I had to choose just a few of the series I mentioned, ExciteBiker, Andy or Sami (Advance Wars), Lip (Panel de Pon), Ray (Custom Robo), and any sort of Rhythm Heaven character have the most clear and/or unique options as far as I can envision. This is all to say, I don't think the Nintendo well is dry, but it is more in obscure places in my mind rather than sticking just with series that already have a decent amount.

I feel like Chibi-Robo gets more direct exposure in the West, but I guess, by the technicality of Panel de Pon getting turned into Tetris Attack and Pokemon Puzzle League and being longer running in general, it makes me think of it as more of a toss-up. Plus I worry about Chibi-Robo more after Zip Lash. D'oh

what about all the other "genres" of pokemon?
After the three the Youngster would add, the only important ones left would be a fossil pokemon, a pseudo legendary, a mythical, and a regional variant. If we wanted to be efficient we could knock these out in two: Hisuian Goodra and Genesect (which is a fossil pokemon lorewise). We obviously don't need any of these, or even the Youngster trio, but I think it would be cool.

Somehow Pokémon trainer can be playable on his own without using any Pokémon and he would be something like Villager which i don’t see anyone mention knowing it’s the most important character in the Pokémon series
It would be very unexpected and very surprising as it’s a very slept on pick

I still think Smash 4 should've been called Super Smash Bros Dimensions (3DS) and Super Smash Bros Universe (Wii U). Naming after the consoles with just "For 3DS" and "For Wii U" is just so boring.

Although I guess they were weak on naming in general during that generation, giving that they called the console, the Wii U.

I hope the next game has an actual subtitle instead of just being named after the console.

I’ll do you one better: they both should’ve been named Super Smash Bros. Duel (because both versions use dual screens).

That might have been cool too, but giving them the exact same name might have led to even more confusion since there are differences between them. I was thinking more about the Pokemon style of two slightly different versions of the same base game.

While I am very interested in several new first party franchises being added, that interest comes alongside asking for several characters from existing franchises.

But aside from that more general disagreement, another nitpick here is that Golden Sun, Starfy, and Chibi-Robo aren't really below some of the other series you listed, especially GS with 2 games each selling over a million.

Golden Sun could be added through fan demand alone, it's as much of a cult status icon by now as say, Mother. But honestly outside of Panel de Pon, and that hugely thanks to Japanese popularity and cult status, I don't see many other new Nintendo entrees happen. Ring Fit is a very high possibility, maybe Astral Chain (even moreso if they get a sequel which I could see), but only others I can think of are retro additions.

As an ARMS apologist (or ARMSpologist), I'm curious. If Min Min wasn't an option, who would you have wanted as an ARMS rep?

I don't even need to SAY my answer. :secretkpop:
Either Twintelle or Lola Pop. I think either would've had interesting gimmicks for Smash.

Spring Man. Ribbon Girl would make a nice echo, at least(if she had no chance as an alt. Though they use the same body shape, but eh). Springtron on the other hand makes for a great alt.

Either Ninjara due to being my ARMS secondary, Helix due to being just an absurd potential concept, or Spring Man due to an insane inside joke in a friend group of mine.

Twintelle would've been cool as she would've been very easy to Smashify instead of being 1-to-1 like Min Min.

I see some Spring Man support, which I'm glad for. The boioioioing boy's definitely my third favorite in a cast I overall REALLY like

But at the end of the day nobody in all of video games except possibly :ultcorrin: can compare to "heeeey!" and "swish swish!" and "thank you, thank you, thank youuuuu~" because TOO. DAMN. CUTE-
