Also on a side, not gonna lie, i was in the "Smash 6 is not going to happen in a long time and we'll get Ult Deluxe" camp. But after seeing Mario Kart 9 announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is also a game i though that we wouldn't seee in another decade minimum, i think Smash 6 is far a more realistic posibility than i previously though.

I guess what it's going to boil down to this: is whatever project Sakurai began working in April 2022 actually Smash Bros., or is it an original project ala KI Uprising or Meteos?

If the former then yeah we'll be seeing Smash 6 sooner than later, likely as 2026's holiday game. If the latter, well, see you in 2028 at the earliest lol. So basically what you thought at first, just without the Smash Ultimate Deluxe part

Here's my prediction for the name of the next game, 100% serious

"THE Super Smash Bros."

Smash has always been very cinematic and took inspiration from movies. A trend in recent movie remake/reboots I've noticed is adding 'the'. The Suicide Squad. The Bat Man. The One Piece. Probably some other stuff, I just looked it up and apparently the joker movie is just 'Joker' and not 'The Joker'. Still, I think my point stands.

It's powerful. You don't have to remember any new synonyms for 'fight'. It's a better name than 'For Wii U'. Again this is my totally sincere prediction.

Actually I think the problem is that Gen Z is very fast approaching not being "kids these days" at all. They're 13-28 years old now so more of them are adults than not, and almost half of them (rounded up) are old enough to drink. That's of course assuming each age has the same number of people, but still.

@Diddy Kong and @Gengar84 were actually correct. League of Legends and Minecraft are Gen Z games...But Fortnite isn't because it's too young. Specifically, it's Gen Alpha.

Yeah, that's me. I'm the Gen Z young adult. My nostalgia console the Wii is going on 20 years now. I'm left waiting for the early-mid 2000s to become In The Vogue for nostalgia baiting instead of the same goddamn 80's pop/rock songs Hollywood has a fetish for.

Also Gen Alpha is the designated Kids These Days for now, but it's now proposed that kids born this year will start Generation Beta, meaning in another decade or so we'll have another set of Kids These Days. I hate the unstoppable passage of time

Honestly I kinda want Sakurai to just call the next Smash, Dragon King: The Fighting Game and offer no explanation whatsoever.

Alternatively, I'm still partial to adopting the Great Fray part from the JP titles.

Also, the themes for each smash bros title.
64: a child starting their imagination with their toys
Melee: toys to trophies to fight with Crazy Hand added with Master Hand
Brawl: fighting against Taboo while growing up
Smash 4: internal conflict within one's own turmoil before coming into terms and accept who they are.
Ultimate: Light vs Dark with us people caught in the middle. Ended with life starting anew in a new world. Creating a new light.

Shin Super Smash Bros./Shin Dairantou Smash Bros. fits on many levels.

Conveys that the idea of it being a step up from the formula, with translations for "Shin" being among "New", "True", or "Evolved".
