As much as I love Ike’s games, I don’t think he’s ever had a good voice. My friend and I used to laugh at “I fight for my friends” and his death cry in Brawl. His silly voice kind of made him more endearing in a way though.

The funniest voice in Ultimate is Wolf’s new down taunt. I’m not sure what they were going for with that but I feel like it didn’t achieve the intended effect. I’m not a fan of Pokemon Trainer’s new voice but at least they fixed Smash 4 Fox.

I miss when Marth and Roy spoke Japanese. Like, I get why they did it but hearing them in English sounds wrong to me.

I almost always prefer English voice acting as a rule but I really miss Fox’s Melee voice. Marth and Roy were pretty iconic too.

I'm very picky with the chars I like but 10 out of 89 seems insane, and at that point why even be a proponent of an everyone is here rehash?

Because it was cheaper to not have dub recordings if they weren't absolutely necessary (i.e. having an entirely different name and thus can't be saying "Purin").

Maybe the development team just couldn't think of any ideas that "worked" in their heads from Gyromite or Stack-Up so they just settled for his home stage being some other "retro" stage (Mario Bros., Balloon Fight, Wrecking Crew, etc.)? /shrug

Could be because he is viewed more as a toy than a video game character. Or maybe resources were crunched during Brawl so they couldn't get a stage for him and then him getting a stage became even lower priority in Smash 4 and Ultimate. I'd be happy for him to get one though.

If I had a time machine, I'd go back and make sure they were never added. But since they were added, they're here forever!

I originally envisioned Tetris fighting like this, but honestly I would prefer if it was just an ethereal entity comprised of four glowing cubes that constantly rearrange themselves into the 7 shapes, and other formations as well.

It would give a unique energy to the character that nobody else on the roster would have, and having a completely non-humanoid fighter makes this the preferable approach in my eyes. Having something completely alien like that would be super dope.

Besides, having Tetris fight as an assembly of blocks would be more faithful to what Tetris is, rather than the humanoid approach.

This objectively makes no sense. "Squirtle" and "Ivysaur" in the context of Smash are their own entities that are tied to certain moves and attributes. Their evolutions would be totally different characters, as Pichu is to Pikachu.

It doesn't matter if you're canonically the same entity as someone else in Smash. If your name is on the CSS, you're your own character. Dr. Mario and ZSS would be cut if you removed "Dr. Mario" and "ZSS" from Smash, even if Mario and Samus will always exist.
