Because Kyo is too obvious of an answer for me, personally I'd love for Edelgard to get in... or a female fighter in general, really.

Sylux - I don't think we need a 3rd Metroid Villain, there are so many other 1st Parties I'd rather have. Metroid has already had enough newcomers for Ultimate, let's give DK, Zelda, or Kirby one.
Lloyd Irving - Great, I love Tales and think it more than deserves to be the 2nd Namco Rep. I'd be beyond ecstatic.
Porky - Again, I don't think we need a 3rd Mother Rep when series like Golden Sun can't even get one. Can name a dozen 1st Parties I'd rather have before him. Not even my first choice for another Earthbound rep, I'd rather have Ninten or Kumatora.

I actively dislike Hunters and wish they'd have just ignored it as non-canon, so Sylux is very much a 'No Thanks' from me.

Lloyd would just be kind of whatever to me. I know Symphonia is amongst the most popular of the Tales series and has a closer association with Nintendo, but just from an outsider's perspective, he doesn't even interest me as much as others from that series. And "Tales" is pretty low on my list of both RPG wants and Namco wants in the first place. Though, like I said, it is an outsider's perspective since I've yet to play ToS (and I have way too many things in line before I'm apt to ever get around to it).

Porky, I can get behind. He's nowhere near top of my list anymore, but he's still amongst the top of the 'existing 1st-party franchise additions' for me, and he'd certainly be more interesting than another PSI-user.

The SourceGaming discord found something interesting with the DLC page, it updated a couple days ago as future proofing.
What's interesting is that they added a function to resize the fighter portraits on the DLC page.

The boxes are now called "class="challengerVert fifth full-tab" in the css.
That "fifth" can be replaced with...

• "full" - Takes up the entire page.
• "half" - Takes up half the page.
• "third" - Takes up a third of the page.
• "quarter" - Takes up a quarter of the page.
• "fifth" - Takes up a fifth of the page. (default, what the fighter pass has.)
• "sixth" - Takes up a sixth of the page. (Only functions on joker and hero's box for some reason).

Which suggests two things in my opinion.

1. The DLC isn't going to be another pass, they added functionality to change the boxes dynamically so they won't have 5 empty boxes anymore.
2. There's support for 6 character boxes in a line, which COULD mean that 6 characters are planned.

Here's how it looks when you change it.

Yeah, I'm officially getting more antsy than I should waiting for Terry, and specifically to see if they go all out with a big reveal of "Wave 2" or "Fighter's Pass #5." I'm just excited to play Terry, but the whole "Additional fighters are in development" is something I want to see more of like everyone else I'm sure. I'm just very curious to see how Nintendo will handle this roll out, and with all of the site shenanigans, it seems like we will know more sooner rather than later.

Sylux - He seems pretty cool, looks like a cunning and capable baddie with devastating electrical powers.

Porky - Looks like the most notable villain from the Earthbound series, and more big bads alongside Ridley, K. Rool, Bowser, and Ganondorf would be schweet.

Lloyd - Oh boy. Reminds me of my cousin Clyde. Ya know what really grinds my gears about Clyde? He's a weenie. A MAJOR weenie. Always schmoozing with Great Aunt Beth at Thanksgiving dinner so that he'll get more realistic Edwin Moore masks for his collection, the weasel. Always diving into the local park fountain to snag coins from the bottom so he can feed them to the 45-pound Gerbil that lives in the attic, Always randomly quoting MARGARET FRIGGIN' THATCHER. ARGH, HE DRIVES ME NUTS. Do you want a Edwin Moore-wearing, Margaret Thatcher-quoting, GIANT GERBIL-FEEDING weenie in YOUR smash game?!

"sixth" is only available for joker and hero for this reason likely.

It's still notable though, they use "quarter" here but they never used "half" or "third" and the support still exists.

Either way, I think the datamined WoL slots possibly hold more water than the site, but you never know...

To people avoiding P5R spoilers, for the love of Orpheus Telos, do not read what is in this tag. Even if you do, I will be as vague as possible. Fortunately, there's nothing to worry about. Everything is fine. There's no surprises here; I just don't want to spoil something super funny involving Morgana... Morgana has a lot of secrets. That silly cat... Now then:

Jane is just an apropos placeholder because her identity was intentionally withheld before the game's release. Pre-release promotional material referred to her assigned Phantom Thief codename as "unknown".

Post-release, and in hindsight, we can call "Kasumi" Jane Doe, because she is one... however you choose to interpret the word. Don't get me wrong, our girl Sumi is alive and well and all, but it's... complicated.

Heck, even じゃあね fits. At the end of the game, Sumi has to dip and do her own thing for a bit. She'll be back in P5 Scramble (most likely) and will be explored in greater detail there.

Now, pay attention to how I referred to her. Notice the inconsistencies and quotation marks. Come to a conclusion. Tell no one.

With that being said, there's no way they could've release her alongside Joker. We're definitely going to get her later as an Echo. She needed to be established in P5R first for sure.

I mean, there's niches for everything. There are people who unironically love Bubsy, though that is usually not due to his charm, wit or anything. Sort of The Room degree of admiration. Sadly, I'm someone who actually likes playing the original two Bubsy games due to nostalgia and have fun with them even though they're quite terrible.

However Bubsy in Smash would be the dumbest, most hilarious thing in my eyes. What could possibly go wrong?

What I meant was you would have the option of pulling them to you (like the hookshot) or blasting them away as they fly towards you. Plus, you could use it like Joker's grappling hook as an alternate recovery. When activated, it fires a shotgun blast, clearing anyone in the way of your tether recovery.

Oh, well that sounds like an actual realization of the move rather than a general description of "tether attack with some range to it." Which Isabelle's is since you can recover with it as well.

I'm cool with Kosmos joining smash because she's a major character in the Namco crossover games and the closest well get to the protagonist of the Namco crossover games who I actually want in smash.

After seeing some Japanese gameplay of her, I'm 80% confident that she is probably not going to be an echo.

Bamco has a lot of inner competition going for them; Tekken, Tales, etc., but I'm rooting for KOS-MOS because of her amazing design and style.

When you say orange the first Bandai Namco character who comes to mind is Lloyd. He wears red but his whole color palette (red, brown, black) fits with an orange background pretty well.
