That's cool man I want to see characters I like in a videogame I like

Man, with all this talk about bosses, I really wish Sakurai didn’t say Home Run contest was basically going to be the last new mode added in Ultimate. A Boss Rush mode would’ve made perfect sense to release with Terry.

We might get online Strike Squad, which also makes a lot of sense considering KOF's team-based gameplay.

You don't know true terror until SNK Bosses arrive in Smash.

If whatever Terry's Legend Spirit in his board doesn't:

• Have all stats buffed and an extra jump
• Use Final Smash twice
• Have immensely reduced landing lag
• Have an insane amount of HP in a Stamina Battle
• Have an AI that reads your input and reacts even faster than level 9 CPUs

Then I believe SNK DLC failed and we should be asking for our money back.

Ikr? I honestly don't think there's a chance Sakurai could make a charatcer from a visual novel an actual fighter, Phoenix wright has literally no meveset potential and he'd be just a copy from his UMvC3 incarnation, I'd rather have Dante or Monster Hunter because their moveset would be so unique, I mean one has a sword and a meter that triggers a special form to boosts stats and the other a variety of weapons where every single one of them is equally important. That would be really unique and far more interesting.

Also guys, after seeing Brawlfan1s FNaF video, I honestly really want Freddy in smash, he would just be awesome.
-He could utilize some very brutal attacks
-He’s a horror rep
-He’s an indie
- and he would be completely unexpected
His fan base isn’t even too bad either! Especially compared to ours

Outside of Max, this guy has my absolute favorite reaction to Terry.

I honestly don't really see the need for "genre-repping". And honestly, if you're gonna complain about genres, don't bash on people complaining about females.

I myself am a little lukewarm about Lloyd not because of the JRPG aspect, but because (even though I enjoyed Symphonia), his moveset wouldn't be too spectacular. Sword Rain would be cool, Demon Fang would be lame. Rising Falcon would be ****ty lol I don't think he would be a bad character, but atm I think I am interested in others more.

I used to think Lloyd would be cool, but after Hero, I feel the fantasy swordsman niche is pretty much filled, and even though Lloyd has twin swords, I feel like... idk, like it would still be redundant without anything else new to bring to the table. Just my opinion tho

If we had to have a Namco Rep I’m split between KOS-MOS (JRPG sure, but she’s female, an android, and has a wide arsenal of different types of futuristic weapons) or Velvet Crowe (most unique play style for a Tales protag so far. Just gotta cover the cleavage a bit).
For twin sword wielders, I’m leaning for Elma with maybe a Mecha-Fiora echo or semi clone. They can use guns or drones respectively along with the twin swords and have a more sci fi aesthetic.

Who the hell is bashing ppl for pulling for females? Also, i absolutely see a need for “genre repping” when Ult is a celebration of gaming.

Im getting real tired of this victim complex crap when it comes to ppl talking about smash characters. God forbid I say I want a character from an under repped genre without Eleanor Roosevelt wannabes coming at me

Dude have you not been paying attention to this thread? Maybe "bashing" was the wrong word, but if you want me to rephrase the argument, Smash doesn't need genre-repping for the sake of genre-repping if it doesn't need female-repping for the sake of female-repping because people are most certainly saying that about female reps.

I think Lloyd would be cool but if I was choosing the fighter pass I wouldn't pick 3 jrpg characters for 5 slots. Maybe it sound a bit dumb but I don't know, I believe even Sakurai would be aware of that.
Not saying Lloyd's not happening, but I think he makes more sense as a post-fighter pass character than FP5.

Edit: I have played Symphonia recently so I would be happy with him even if he's not one of my most wanteds. Maybe some moves from his game aren't super original, but I think Sakurai could manage to do really cool things with him. Maybe he could have Colette or other characters helping him in his moveset? Something like that.

Lloyd is cool but I can't lie I'd mostly be happy with him in due to Symphonia being an awesome game. Velvet is by far my most-wanted Tales rep and if we're going Bamco as a whole I want Heihachi more than either of them.

That said, they're all awesome. The only Bamco rep I wouldn't enjoy would be Yuri because I don't like Vesperia much. But hey, after the pass I hope Nintendo just goes ape**** with the DLC.

If we're thinking a first party promo rep is coming, then it's def gonna be Byleth. According to the earnings report, 3H did 2.2 or 2.3 million copies, which is more than Awakening and only covers 2 months of sales. Conversely, Fates has a lifetime of 2.85 million, so 3H will easily beat it at some point.

That being said, unfortunately Astral Chain probably hasn't broken a million yet, so idk if Akira Howard is as likely.

Can we stop with this argument that characters get in Smash based on sales figures?

My guy, you're missing the point completely. You said you want genre-repping, I said don't feel the need for it and gave an example why genre-repping for the sake of genre-repping is hypocritical when compared to people saying we don't need females for the sake of females, which people do. It has nothing to do with "social justice", just arguing a point.

I'm going to be honest, I don't really mind if we repeat genres and the next character is either a JRPG character, platforming character or a Fighting game character.

What I'm minding right now is this self righteous view of telling someone that Sakurai is free to not add a female character in the game but immediately become defensive when someone says the same regarding representing new genres.

We have been having this **** for a long time now whether its a female character, a new genre on the game or a franchise already in the game missing whatever character the fanbase is infatuated with

Except that if the two Final Smashes are what I think they would be (Power Geyser and Buster Wolf) then wouldn't Power Geyser be the grounded one

You seem to be very VERY misinformed about the fan base. And even though the smash fan base is bad not many if any people were arguing against the people who were saying they don't want Minecraft in the game because of the fan base by saying that our fanbase isn't much as bad in comparison. And brutal attacks are something that doesn't belong in smash (cue scorpion Kirby saying get over here and using the spear to impale Pichu and do you guessed it get her over here) and there are probably more deserving Indies out there. Imo all of this obviously
