I was messing around with a custom roster creator, and I added in a few potential DLC spots based on who I thought were reasonable picks, albeit ased on my limited, general knowledge of each new fighters' series.
Even though the final selection could end up with a lot more than these characters, I decided to leave it at 5 for the time being, with the Fighter Pass ending with Travis Touchdown.
I'll just give a brief rundown on why I feel they're somewhat plausible:
1.
Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes) - While it's a series I'm quite unfamiliar with, I feel as if the No More Heroes series has earned enough notablity and goodwill from Nintendo (considering the next sequel is a Switch exclusive), as well as enough of an established and recognizable identity to warrant Travis' inclusion. He seems to have a distinct fighting style, weapon(s) and personality that makes him stand out as a unique fighter.
2.
Karate Joe (Rhythm Heaven) - Rhythm Heaven is among the last big Nintendo franchises yet to receive fighter representation, and while it could be any number of characters from the series, such as the Chorus Kids, I feel that Joe operates as more of the foundational character, as he is the first character to appear in the franchise within a rhythm game, and has shown up in numerous titles since then.
3.
Lloyd Irving (Tales of series) - Like Hero, Lloyd hails from a tremendously influential and popular JRPG series, and as its poster boy, no less. He's among the top requested fighters in Japan, and a good amount of people here want him, as well. It seems like there is a multitude of attacks that could be pulled from his own games, so there wouldn't be too much trouble working a moveset for him.
4.
Crash Bandicoot (Crash series) I'll admit, he's been showing up in speculation a great deal, and while the forum can serve as an echo chamber for certain characters being talked about again and again, Crash does possess merit as a strong third-party selection. Popular in both the east and west, he's among the most iconic video game mascots in history, serving as a rival to Mario and acting as the face of Playstation upon his inception. His appeal still remains today, with the recent success of his remastered trilogy.
5.
Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil) - Another favorite among the community in terms of speculation, but he's got warranted reasons to join all the same. He's seen as Resident Evil's most popular and prominent protagonist by many fans, and he's been the featured main character of Resident Evil 4, considered to be one of the best titles in the series.
Anyway, that's all I got. Feel free to critique me on any of my picks.
