Honestly you could take Min Min as a base and make a bunch of ARMS characters from there. If they don't qualify for the nebulous rules of Echo Fighters, then at least as semi clones.

Unless ARMS 2 shakes things up a ton, I could easily see the game having Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, and Min Min as semi-clones of each other.

I don't see characters from Sonic or Mega Man for example is because they would be bringing scraping from the bottom of the barrel for their DLC content.

Eeeh I disagree here, at least for Mega Man, though I think Sonic the Hedgehog still has a bunch of stuff to offer as well:

• Characters: Both Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man have pretty big characters to offer from Dr. Eggman and Sigma to Shadow and Zero. I doubt this is where the sticking point is anyway.
• Stages: Sonic the Hedgehog has Green Hill Zone and Green Hill Zone, but a tube. There are still a handful of iconic locations to the series that they could turn into a stage, and there are even some that are heavily linked to characters like Dr. Eggman and Shadow. Mega Man only has Wily Castle, which means there's a bunch of areas that they could pick from, most notably, Ruined Highway from Mega Man X.
  • And I swear if the next Sonic the Hedgehog character comes with Emerald Hill Zone...
• Music: I don't know much about Sonic's music, but as far as I know, there are like, three classic tunes, and pretty much everything else is the rock song from each 3D entry. I guess barrel scraping is a matter of opinion there. Not for Mega Man though. Even with its bajillion tracks it still doesn't have many from games that aren't in the classic series. And honestly, you really can't go wrong with Mega Man music.
• Spirits: This is where both series have a bit of trouble. Most of Sonic's major characters are already Spirits, though Dr. Eggman could come with Spirits of various villains, bosses, and some of the more iconic Badnik designs. The Mega Man series has all of it's main characters as Spirits as well, though if the character is from the Mega Man X series, they would be able to throw in a bunch of Mavericks because none of them are in the game for some reason.

I'm not sure that Sonic the Hedgehog or Mega Man will get more characters here either, but I don't think that a lack of substantial content to bring in is the reason why.

Tales seems like the kind of thing that will be subject to revisionism when Lloyd gets chosen and people claim he was the obvious choice all along.

Which I think is the case, but clearly my opinion is not ubiquitous.

I think he's an obvious pick, but I don't think he's the obvious pick. It just really depends on whether they want the character Nintendo fans and the West will also recognize or the character who's so popular in Japan he's been banned from further popularity contests despite the fact that his game was only released on Xbox 360, a system Japan had no love for, at the time.

That's all I really expect if a Tales rep gets in. It'll be either Lloyd Irving or Yuri Lowell.

Yeah and that was 5 years ago? And even if Sakurai still thinks Lloyd is the obvious pick, who would Namco want if they put a Tales rep in?

I believe it's either copyright issues with that one Arcade company or because Namco really does not care about her since she has not appeared in Pac-man content for quite a while now.

If we're being specific, I think he said Lloyd was the obvious choice for Tales of, not necessarily for Smash or for Bandai-Namco.

Though, it wouldn't surprise me if Bamco is content with just Pac-Man, seeing as they get a portion of the sales from Smash itself.

I Believe that they were able to Re-Release the Mrs. PAC-MAN's Arcade Machines, or something like that, which would have been hell to with the legal troubles, so perhaps they figured it out

If there were any lingering doubts, I think they'd showed where their heads were at when the one and only Tales costume we got was Lloyd.

I expect the same reasoning that selected him to be the costume will net him the playable spot.

Since Sephiroth is coming soon, these are my predictions
A Sega character (If we‘re doing quota filling then Eggman seems like a reasonable choice, but I could see something like Arle instead).
A promotional Nintendo character (I’ll go with Rex as most likely since a Xenoblade character was considered just like an ARMS character was).
A wild card since Idk what else will be added, but I’m not expecting Crash (maybe Waluigi, a Capcom rep, or a Namco rep)

Speaking of SEGA... if Nintendo can't figure out what to do with F-Zero, they oughta let them take a crack at it. I can't think of any studio that could do it better justice.

They were doing so good at the beginning, We almost had a leak that seemed decently believable, And then they had to ruin it with an unrealistic fighter prediction

The gen 4 remakes haven't even been hinted at in any official capacity, We don't even now if they exist, we could be getting Let's Go 2 next year instead.

It feels stretching. Like, it felt that the Sephiroth reveal was somewhat re-creating the World of Light opening, considering the World of Light opening also had Konami and Sega characters in it, so it'd make sense for Sephiroth's trailer to have 3rd party characters as well.

Like, I'd be interested to see who the 4th Sega rep and 4th Konami rep would be. But it just feels like there is a bit too much stretching.

One thing I will say in defense of this theory is that we did get a new Capcom fighter in the base game, Ken. So in a way Mega Man's appearance in Ridley's trailer would kinda work with this theory instead of it being an exception.

The theory is talking about the animated parts in a trailer, and not the in-game models added in. Otherwise the theory would be dead since Terry appeared in the first seconds of Steve's trailer in gameplay.

No offence but I have to agree that theory is some Pepe Silvia level stuff.

Most trailers usually only have two or three other characters in the CG parts anyway (with them typically being relevant to the newcomer in question, or just being Mario or Kirby) not the amount in the Sephiroth trailer. The only other CG that had that amount was the WoL stuff.

Another thing to keep in mind is the DLC characters of the same pass probably won't show up in each other's CG trailers just in case the ordering has to shift or they run into late-stage development or legal complications.

I've seen that before but it's still adorable.

And if we somehow do ever get Frogger it's fortunate that Sakurai tends to opt for the retro look, and Konami clearly doesn't give a **** so probably wouldn't mandate otherwise.

The frog from frogger's only weakness is Anime that is why he can't appear...

They've Gone through so many Frogger Designs that it does not even register as the same series. And there is not really a design that has been used consistently for years.

These were the last 2 Frogger games released that were not just the Original Arcade version.

There is that one actually decent design that was used quite a bit

But it hasn't been used since 2010...

Do I have a point here? No I just wanted to rant about Frogger designs.

The biggest Issue I see in frogger's way is the fact that Konami has no clue what they want to do with the franchise, and it seems that they just want to put out anything with the Frogger name so they can make money.

Are you guys expecting anything special tomorrow? Not like a new character but something smaller like Small Battlefield. 35 minutes seems like a lot for an seemingly simple character like Sephiroth.

Probably just expect Sakurai to share an in-depth gameplay of Sephiroth, explaination of his stage and hopefully more songs. In addition, I expect him to provide further Amiibo details plus some Mii costume unveils.
