It's most likely not the Mario tournament. The Smash Bros Website (and Twitter for that matter) has been very consistent calling the usual Tournaments as トーナメントイベント (Tournament Event). The Mario Tournament was called オンラインチャレンジ (Online Challenge), it's the same type of special Tournament as the one that happened last Saturday. From what I have seen, these new types of tournaments are not numbered.Hmmm. I wonder if that's the Mario Tourney event. Maybe some delays just moved that event?
Not much difference really.
Hunter, Crash, Gen 8 pokemon, Hayabusa.
Dante, Arle, Reimu, Rex, a little less now.
Japan or West, people in Smash speculation tend to have similar thoughts. We're probably mostly on the right track, but at the same time, we're the minorities. At least Japanese Smash speculation communities are so. Random Smash wants posts here and there from people not in the scenes are the majorities, and some from them are really wild. I think this can say the same for the West as well.
So I just decided to search randomly from various places right now and list down 50 names I found from the top.

BlueEyedGrimmbat You're the one who wants to get Amiya in the spotlight, right? Well, here's your chance........holy **** they're serious?
Like, I like Arknights but didn't that game come out barely a year ago in China?
Come to think of it, a lot of veterans didn’t appear in the cinematic trailers. Lemme compile a list of trailers where veterans did appear (and which ones):You know what reeeealllly gets me goin'?!
Ness and Lucas have not appeared in any of the cool cinematic Smash newcomer trailers! The most they got was Subspace Emissary in Brawl! They don't even appear in the World of Light cinematics! How dare Nintendo do such a thing, how dare they I say!
But seriously, there's 5 more DLC slots, I would hope they could appear in one of those trailers. They haven't even appeared in the Sm4sh newcomer trailers...
You forgot and in The Rivals and Best Friends trailers respectfully, but yeah. I hope future trailers have the veterans interacting with the newcomer.Come to think of it, a lot of veterans didn’t appear in the cinematic trailers. Lemme compile a list of trailers where veterans did appear (and which ones):
A Piercing Screech:
Vampire Killer:
The Rivals:
All in a Day’s Work: N/A
Clash of Flames:
World of Light: Too many to cohesively list
Take Your Heart:
A Heroic Encounter:
Best Friends:
Ramen time:
So ignoring World of Light (because I’d be here all day), only appear in any cinematic trailers for Ultimate.
I feel like Agumon would require multiple movesets due to how important Digivolution is, and how Greymon and its Digivolved variants (I think the direct line is Metal Greymon and War Graymon in that order) is almost as iconic within the series as Agumon is as a result. For the Agumon talk earlier, I do agree he's a contender. Though I don't think he's necessarily high up on the list. Lloyd Irving is up there, and Nightmare and Chosen Undead are also worth a mention. There's a lot of Bandai-Namco characters as is, and only one is pretty much out for this pass(Heihachi). The ones with small cameos in Pac-Man's taunt can be considered questionable on their possibilities, but the taunt wouldn't stop one from being added anyway.
Digimon is a pretty sweet video game franchise that's a long runner. It's not as iconic as Pokemon by any means, but has been around almost just as long, and rivaled it at one point. Including anime-wise, though that was mostly just, what, 2 of the Digimon seasons(Adventure 1 and Tamers) that did amazingly well. The rest, nowhere near that. Adventure 2 wasn't unpopular by any means, either. Frontier I remembered bombed once the Royal Knight saga came along, and the toy sales were pretty bad. Fusion/Xros Wars did okay, but The Hunters Who Leapt Through Time did awful(it's one that is vastly unlikely to get dubbed. The next season, or Series 7, essentially, I dunno if it'll get a dub. It has a complete and massive change up to the design of the series. Even Fusion, the most changed, still had regular Digivolution(though done uniquely). ...The games had a lot of varying quality, but for the most part, till more recently, the percentage of them were eh to bad with a few good stand outs. With both the anime and games having some stinkers(and not just a tiny few, but actually a decent percentage), it really hurt the franchise at times.
It's basically a matter of what gimmick Sakurai would want for Agumon, and if he feels it's the best Bandai-Namco choice. As a lot of choices are easy for Nintendo to work with, as many either have new games to promote, or have enough ties with Nintendo that licensing them should be easy, nobody in particular sticks out as an obvious choice. This means Agumon has fairly strong competition. Even if you ignore some as likely, Tales of alone is a pretty big IP for Bamco as is. And even taking away some of Bamco's biggest(Tekken, Soul Series, Digimon, Tales of, Dark Souls), you have a ton of IP's to go with. Of course, ignoring any more Pac-Man character choices, their biggest, when I talk of this. One such example for a smaller series is Klonoa, who has gotten some decent popularity and requests for Smash these days. The list goes well beyond that, of course. It's a company with a truckload of cool IP's(Capcom has this as well).

Hmm...imagine if that new sakurai column went "yea everything got delayed till next year"
Translator's Note: Heikaku means plan. Not sure why everyone is so pessimistic now when this is literally according to heikaku.
If we get one it's Friday so everything can be later which sucks, but it'd mean they show the character on Monday which is good meaning I'll be able to catch it liveDo you guys think we'll get an announcement of a reveal Wednesday or Friday?
Ah, who am I kidding...
It launches the 22nd, right? Isn't that the 2nd to last week? Pikmin 3 comes out the 30th.Now that we know that the Crown Tundra DLC will be released on the last week of October, my new prediction is that the Fighter will be revealed on the first week of November. I don't think that it's impossible for the reveal to happen the same week as the DLC release, but I do find it unlikely.
I thought TheBeastHimself said it was on the 26th...maybe he was talking about something else.It launches the 22nd, right? Isn't that the 2nd to last week? Pikmin 3 comes out the 30th.
One quick google later andI thought TheBeastHimself said it was on the 26th...maybe he was talking about something else.
I would feel like there's an entire subforum of this message board dedicated to discussing that very thing with other likeminded individuals. And that it would be weird of me to want to discuss a character that's been out for 9 months in the Newcomer/DLC Speculation Discussion thread. How would you feel if you liked Byleth but were still restraining yourself from discussing him nine months later after his reveal? He wasn't your favorite character, but you like the FE series and would enjoy discussing his playstyle. You never initiate a conversation though because you've seen how it plays out several times before. A majority of people focus entirely on the negatives and almost instinctively switch what should be a normal discussion into one about ethics, an unwillingness to listen to fans, and unwanted shill promotion.
Well in that case I'll go back to my previous opinion. I don't think Nintendo would care enough about Pikmin 3 to make sure it's the only thing that releases in a week if they have something else to go in that time block. One quick google later and

Yup, 22nd. So the 2nd to last week has Crown Tundra, and after that Pikmin3.
Pikmin fans are gonna cry when they see this, clinging in to the lifeless corpse of Miyamoto saying Pikmin 4 is almost doneWell in that case I'll go back to my previous opinion. I don't think Nintendo would care enough about Pikmin 3 to make sure it's the only thing that releases in a week if they have something else to go in that time block.
Still wonder what happened for it to be "almost done" for like what? 4 years now?Pikmin fans are gonna cry when they see this, clinging in to the lifeless corpse of Miyamoto saying Pikmin 4 is almost done
Years from now, historians will ponder on the eternal disappearance of both Pikmin 4 and FP7.Still wonder what happened for it to be "almost done" for like what? 4 years now?
Internal reboot, I'd say.Still wonder what happened for it to be "almost done" for like what? 4 years now?
I gotta say though, you're going against the norm here, most think sooner rather than later, especially since the next 2 weeks are completely empty with seemingly nothing coming yet.Well in that case I'll go back to my previous opinion. Honestly, I don't think it matters what the next three weeks look like. I could easily see either three reveals and whatnot, or just radio silence, with Super Smash Bros. being later regardless.I gotta say though, you're going against the norm here, most think sooner rather than later, especially since the next 2 weeks are completely empty with seemingly nothing coming yet.
I assume you're banking on 2 shadow drops if there's no Smash?
Considering the last one was the middle of the month last time, I wonder when this one would be. Assuming we get one at all. They're obviously not on a pattern, but would they drop the same week as Pikmin3/CT is the question.Don't forget that we might have another partner showcase sometime this month as well. That's something else to consider when mapping out the weeks.
So when compared to
Here it is.
The number of the tournament is... 4032
Not how it works. Tournaments start with the number 4 and don't interfere with the numbering of other events. We have skipped another tournament. So when compared to
Was the Spirit Event 4031?
Got ya.Not how it works. Tournaments start with the number 4 and don't interfere with the numbering of other events. We have skipped another tournament.
At this point, we still can't say if it's delayed or Nintendo is just holding onto it for some reason.so they delayed fp7 then. i know 'rona is the answer but i wonder if sakurai will address it.
No need for them to address a delay that was never public.so they delayed fp7 then. i know 'rona is the answer but i wonder if sakurai will address it.
Quick, everyone think of characters who would have at least one projectile in their moveset and who wouldn't be lightweights.Got ya.
So we've effectively skipped 2 Tournaments now, which probably line up with your headcanon, 1 being the one where they'd be the focus, the other with them being useable.
