I feel like GF will want something on the shelves end of next year, as they typically do each year - the definitive editions are likely their push for holidays this year. Gen 4 remakes would make sense, indeed, but you never know with GF.It kinda makes me wonder what's next for Gen 8. Game Freak said the DLC is meant to replace the standard third version we've gotten in every generation except 6, so Pokemon Sharp Sword and Solid Shield aren't going to be a thing.
Gen 4 remakes seem like the next logical step, but I could see something coming out of nowhere similar to Let's Go. Maybe don't release a game in 2021 to let Gen 9 cook a little and become something truly special? No? Alright then.
They can still announce smash but then have a november releaes for the character.NGL, Crown Tundra's release date being in October is making a Smash character releasing this upcoming month a little sus in my eyes.
Like, have they ever dropped a character release with another game's major update before? I can't remember if they have, TBH.
Either way, I'm not gonna knee jerk react to this: Next week still theoretically looks good, but I'm just gonna put it out there as food for thought. If the Smash character was coming earlier, I would think it would've been announced first. In fairness, though, TPC acts independently to Nintendo, so there could be the answer right there.
You misread my post. I said pre-SwSh, when SwSh wasn't even known about.
Actually because of Toxtricity and Anticipation, alongside False Swipe.Cause of toxicity and expectations, false hype?
Lol why nothing after? The real significant time now will be tomorrow. A announcement then for a Sakurai Presents for Friday is fairly realistic. After that though its either an announcement Friday for a presentation Monday, or nothing at all.
I actually took a new build of Patron to Legend in wild last month lol.Smh, I can't believe we're discussing Blizzard and Warcraft characters without mentioning the objective best character:
Yeah, it's become apparent that annual releases are here to stay, unfortunately. In the past decade, only one year didn't have a new mainline Pokemon game on store shelves (assuming we count SwSh definitive edition as a new game): 2015.I feel like GF will want something on the shelves end of next year, as they typically do each year - the definitives editions are likely their push for holidays this year. Gen 4 remakes next year would make sense, indeed, but you never know with GF.
Well I meant nothing in regards to any sort of announcement this week if its not done by Friday. Given that Sakurai presents have often been announced two days in advance I figure the options are:Lol why nothing after?
I think it's probably going to be later, like next week or the one after.
Oh Yeah ok. If it's this week, yeah tomorow might be nice.Well I meant nothing in regards to any sort of announcement this week if its not done by Friday. Given that Sakurai presents have often be announced two days in advance I figure the options are:

-No announcement until next week or after
Isle of Armor and Min Min were both in JuneNGL, Crown Tundra's release date being in October is making a Smash character releasing this upcoming month a little sus in my eyes.

While a Smash character has never released near a major update for another game before, Hero and Terry dropped a few days after Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Luigi's Mansion 3 dropped, so I don't think it'll be too much of an issue.NGL, Crown Tundra's release date being in October is making a Smash character releasing this upcoming month a little sus in my eyes.

Smash 4 Wii U in it's entirety released on the same release day of Pokemon OR/AS. I'd argue it's a similair situation since both Smash and Pokemon are in the same phase, which this time is DLC.Like, have they ever dropped a character release with another game's major update before?
Well if it's a problem then they could probably just get rid of the healing effect.I mean Recall is literally her getting back health. That's the one I'm more so worried about.
It's probably something they intend to do for the rest of the series. In Gen 6, you had Hoopa, in Gen 7 you had Ultra Space, and now you have Crown Tundra. I think it's something we can expect in every generation moving forward. Shame they keep bringing back the Legendaries instead of cooling it with the Mythicals though. It's a little lame that we're returning back to the "We brought back every legendary!" gimmick from Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon so soon. Something tells me that and the fact they're bringing back all of the remaining pseudos are going to be a talking point later today. I'm surprised they didn't go all in and bring all of the starters back if they wanted to grab the most popular groups of Pokemon.
At least the Zubat line if finally returning. It's not a Pokemon game without Zubat
Yeah, but my thought process has me thinking about how we didn't get Min Min's trailer 'till after Isle of Armor came out. We've been using this week's Pokemon news as a potential hint at Smash info due to what happened last time, but last time it took until after Pokemon's DLC came out to get something.Isle of Armor was June, same as Min Min
Don't think it matters too much
The Isle of Armour was released two weeks before Min Min, so I don't think the update itself would be too much of a problem.NGL, Crown Tundra's release date being in October is making a Smash character releasing this upcoming month a little sus in my eyes.

A lot of people feel like it lowers their value since they appear in every game.I don't see what is wrong with the legendaries gimmick. What else did you want them to do? Better having legendaries than not having legendaries, am I right?
Was last week a Spirit Event? Just want to make sure.I guess we should keep an eye on what’s announced tonight
if there’s brand new Spirits, or if there’s nothing, something’s up
Last week was Game Boy spirits. Was last week a Spirit Event? Just want to make sure.
There’s two different kind of events - themed (with spirits that already exist) and debut (like RE, Astral Chain, Trials of Mana etc)Last week was Game Boy spirits.
That said we have gotten back to back spirit events (with Sw/Sh followed by RE and the One Year anniversary events). We've also gotten back to back tourneys.
I kinda hate that sentiment, honestly. That's like saying you shouldn't rerelease a limited time character in a gacha game after new players joined said game. Give them a chance to get the limited time character, okay? It's not their fault for missing out the first time.A lot of people feel like it lowers their value since they appear in every game.
EDIT: They feel less special to those types of people.
We've had a debut happen before Byleth. All other characters had a themed event before their reveal/release.There’s two different kind of events - themed (with spirits that already exist) and debut (like RE, Astral Chain, Trials of Mana etc)
I think a debut one happened before Byleth and/or Min Min
I always fear for new spirit events that Ace Attorney, Puyo Puyo or Bravely Default will be next. There's always some possible spicy spirit board stuff before FP7, like a major third party getting spirits that would definitely come with a character as a soft deconfirm.
And I agree with that, but I also get that these are supposed to be extremely rare Pokémon (perhaps even one of a kind) in-universe, so there's a huge narrative dissonance there when you can just go pick one up every single game without any fanfare, and these appearances are going to start feeling more and more shoehorned.I kinda hate that sentiment, honestly. I want some sort of Ace Attorney rep, but it 100% feels like the type of series that would get a spirit board event onlyI always fear for new spirit events that Ace Attorney, Puyo Puyo or Bravely Default will be next.
This is how Ori can win"Be sure to check out the Microsoft Superstars Spirit Event this week with Steve & Alex, Master Chief, The Dragonborn, Vault Boy, and The Doom Slayer!"
This is quite the odd statement when you think about it. We've gotten just a Spirit Event from popular games like Warframe, niche ones like the River City series, and new releases like Ring Fit Adventure. What on Earth is that "type"? lolI want some sort of Ace Attorney rep, but it 100% feels like the type of series that would get a spirit board event only
