I mean...all those games were technically already on NSO, so....yeah.- 2D All-Stars on NSO makes the service actually worth a dang.

In Sunshine if you go back to the secret courses after getting their particular Shine Sprites, you can get another one via a red coin challenge (with FLUDD) on that level. One thing I noticed no one talking about is that they showed a clip of Mario in a F.L.U.D.D.less level with F.L.U.D.D. on his back. Did they add F.L.U.D.D. back into the F.L.U.D.D.less levels?
Yeah but the pixel art looks so much nicer on All Stars, so for me personally I always disliked how they'd never rerelease those versions on services like the VC and NSO until now, lol.I mean...all those games were technically already on NSO, so....yeah.
The collection is 60 bucks right? That's a steal for those 3 games honestly.Honestly the real reason is probably Nintendo thinking it'd be too valuable, 64 and Galaxy are available for Wii U VC for half of this collection's price and Nintendo DID get rid pf their NSO voucher **** in the US got scrapped because Nintendo thought 20 bucks was just too good of a discount
Yeah, I always considered the All Stars version the best versions to play, especially with how well the pixel art has aged.Yeah but the pixel art looks so much nicer on All Stars, so for me personally I always disliked how they'd never rerelease those versions on services like the VC and NSO until now, lol.
Not to mention the much nicer OST as well. It'll be nice to not have to play these versions on RetroArch anymore.
Idk, the steal would've been had they included Galaxy 2, which I agree is probably why they didn't.The collection is 60 bucks right? That's a steal for those 3 games honestly.
Don't worry, there are a ton of games to play or books to read to ignore this speculation if it becomes too much.Man I wish we had gotten a reveal, for anyone - they could have said "Joycon drifts into action!" and I'd have been fine with it, because at least then the speculation cycle would cease briefly, at least we'd get confirmation of something and change the conversation for a bit.
I like speculation, but I hate falling back down to ground zero every week following no Smash news when things look promising.
I've some people speculate that the reason why the Mario Themed Tournament is happening in November-December is that they want to reveal Geno/Waluigi/Chargin' Chuck before that so they can be in the tournament.I’m sure it won’t be long before some of the Waluigi and especially geno fans find a way to spin this into them being more likely somehow.
Before the direct- Geno is basically a lock if there’s a Mario direct!!!
After- well, they wouldn’t have included him in an anniversary shadow dropped direct anyways... hes basically a lock to be the pass closer now!!!
Yeah but they could have done that today just as easily. Not saying it can't happen but...I've some people speculate that the reason why the Mario Themed Tournament is happening in November-December is that they want to reveal Geno/Waluigi/Chargin' Chuck before that so they can be in the tournament.
I doubt a Mario character being a Promotional Character, It's kinda the same with Pokemon as well honestly. If anything it would be the inverse. If that's the case I'd expect Mario Character or Pokemon character EARLY in the Pass for Hype reasons or somethingImagine thinking Mario needs promotional picks to boost sales. Couldn't be me.
Then again, this is Nintendo so who knows what they'll do.
I’l do you one better:Imagine thinking Mario needs promotional picks to boost sales. Couldn't be me.

I've always felt the same. it and Super Mario world have aged very well. And with it being available on SNES virtual later today, I'll be able to head home after work and have some fun going through Mario 2 again (not lost levels; I've had enough of that)Yeah, I always considered the All Stars version the best versions to play, especially with how well the pixel art has aged.
Some levels are nice such as the third one in SMB, but a lot of them are butchered and soulless.Yeah but the pixel art looks so much nicer on All Stars, so for me personally I always disliked how they'd never rerelease those versions on services like the VC and NSO until now, lol.

Would be really weird if Geno were usable in a Mario tournament but not Yoshi or DK.I've some people speculate that the reason why the Mario Themed Tournament is happening in November-December is that they want to reveal Geno/Waluigi/Chargin' Chuck before that so they can be in the tournament.
Advertising and promotion aren't just for resurrecting dying products.Imagine thinking Mario needs promotional picks to boost sales. Couldn't be me.

I disagree with most of those examples. Some levels are nice such as the third one in SMB, but a lot of them are butchered and soulless.
It just feels odd to me to promote Mario in Super Smash Bros. It's like promoting FF7 in Crisis Core.Advertising and promotion aren't just for resurrecting dying products.
Companies usually use a good amount of their marketing budget to make ads of their most successful goods. Saying people "go buy this thing" about something they might not know about can be effective but keeping a franchise they know about in their mind constantly ultimately makes more money. Having staying power over the public consciousness is why Mario makes so much money in the first place.
So, no, one promotional pick won't increase the sales by itself but why not pick every small chance at reminding people about your product if you can? It's not Nintendo being Nintendo, it's how big corporates (usually) work.
I think this is the best time to retweet this !

Rosalina was shown in a second trailer for SM3DW on Wii U, so let's keep hope for new characters like Princess Daisy, Wario or Pauline !🤞#Nintendo #SuperMario35 #SuperMario3DWorld #SuperMario https://t.co/Y4T5Crt0Kc
I imagine that artstyle clash is too much to reconcile.I'm surprised that there's no collaboration between Super Mario and Dragalia Lost, the latter of which ALSO has its anniversary this month.
I actually thought that this new area shown was going to be a Mario Land themed world because I mistook the statue for one of those Sphinx enemies. Would have been the perfect opportunity for playable Daisy.Hopefully we can at least get some new characters for 3D World.

Mmm...I suppose the art styles DO clash, but I still think Mario and co. would work in it.I imagine that artstyle clash is too much to reconcile.
Wasn’t there a Mega Man crossover or something?I imagine that artstyle clash is too much to reconcile.
Now this one doesn't make a lick of sense. If Yoshi and Wario aren't allowed in that tournament, what hope does someone like Geno have?I've some people speculate that the reason why the Mario Themed Tournament is happening in November-December is that they want to reveal Geno/Waluigi/Chargin' Chuck before that so they can be in the tournament.
Geno would, in all likelihood, be classified as a Mario character. Yoshi having his own series is a weird leftover of Smash 64 (not sure whether they thought that Yoshi was going to have a ton of spin-offs going forward, or what the situation was), but unlike the characters in that tournament's line-up (or presumably Geno, if he gets in between now and then), he doesn't have the mushroom icon. (not sure why they couldn't make an exception for Yoshi, Wario, or the Donkey Kong characters, though)Now this one doesn't make a lick of sense. If Yoshi and Wario aren't allowed in that tournament, what hope does someone like Geno have?
I don't even get Land 2. Come on Nintendo, don't you want to acknowledge Wario's debut?Oh and wtf is up with Galaxy 2 being erased from existence? I get Land 2 but Galaxy?
Looks at the constant string of Coca Cola and McDonalds ads.It just feels odd to me to promote Mario in Super Smash Bros. It's like promoting FF7 in Crisis Core.
And of the two frequently discussed Mario characters, one is irrelevant outside of Smash discussion and is from a game almost a quarter century old, and the other is definitely more well known but is only in Mario spin off titles.
It simply feels off to me.
There was, yes.Wasn’t there a Mega Man crossover or something?
I’d imagine it’s art style wouldn’t have meshed well with DL either.
At least there they have the excuse of it being a handheld game, and those are always the red-haired stepchild of gaming.I don't even get Land 2. Come on Nintendo, don't you want to acknowledge Wario's debut?
Land 2 appears in the 'History' section of the Mario 35th website, but not in the Direct/Mario Medley. Weird.I don't even get Land 2. Come on Nintendo, don't you want to acknowledge Wario's debut?
