I mean from what i see, me and the majority of people in the geno thread rarely if ever come here to "circlejerk". You might see a handful but that only happens if genos already being talked about here. Dont get why you have to be so aggressive.

I also find this rather interesting, i mean the whole thing with geno is that... well yeah... square wouldnt pick him, not in a million years.

It would be nintendo and sakurai obviously.

I feel like trying to connect a fanbase with bandwagoning simply doesn't work at all. like, you dont personally know any of these fans, you dont know what they truly are like, so you simply cant reduce their want for a character as bandwagoning since again, you dont know them. Are there people out there who fit the description of a bandwagoner, maybe but theres not much of a point in thinking about it.

The idea that people took Ryce making a cute little reference to the idea of a Geno trailer as a legitimate leak and then retroactively turned him into some sort of source/leaker specifically for Smash is one of the funniest things I've seen Smash speculation pull in a while. I know SmashERA pretty well and like... Ryce just blatantly isn't that kind of leaker in that thread at all.

Just had a dream about a Sakurai presents. Really annoying how that didn't turn out to happen, but I guess I should've expected it because it was just a reveal galore of stages and cosmetics and ****. This is the most obsessed I've been over something Nintendo in a while, so hopefully something does happen.

I understand the temptation to look at bandwagoning as a pure negative, but it's not really. Things that are more visible in any community tend to self-promote and attract new people, and there's a general sense of momentum that results from additional exposure that has really benefited every single fan request for Smash ever. At the end of the day, Smash Ultimate is a punchy fun video game, it doesn't actually matter how deep your convictions are for wanting a character or if you would be a "true fan" without a larger community that helped expose you to that character/the idea of that character in Smash. I think it's just better to embrace the idea of bandwagoning being relevant to a fan request rather than always fighting it as it also lets you be in control of the language around the character.

Also, plenty of people say they wouldn't have considered or known a character until they saw larger support for certain characters, so you can certainly demonstrate the positive effects of community visibility and outreach on the popularity of any given entity. And again, that's not really a bad thing in of itself.

I do not get the joke of hype responsibility.

What is wrong if people are very optimistic? I understand people can get too crazy, but still, it is good to be excited.

Since the Mario collection might be announced soon-ish now, I think I could mention that a while ago, I did have a dream about it getting revealed. What I saw was some footage from Galaxy, and then it ending the consoles that this would release on. . . those being the PS4, the XBox Series X, and. . . the XBox Series Y. Nothing on the Switch.

Clearly, my dreams are the most reliable insider.

I'm going to be working this morning, but I'm hoping that we get something today, even if it's just a random Tweet announcing the long-rumoured 3D Mario remasters.

If we do get a Smash announcement, though, try not to be toxic about it, whoever it may be. I'm not sure who's hinted at Geno being announced, since I just checked this thread, but it already seems to be bubbling to the surface and we don't even know if there's any kind of Nintendo announcement yet, let alone a Smash one.

Because people who don’t hype responsibly end up overhyping themselves that everything they ever wanted will be suddenly made real within a 35 minute window. But when what they hyped themselves up doesn’t happen, well, they end up making emotionally charged bad choices including targeting other character threads, long rant posts, targeting certain individuals, making empty but still worrying threats, and/or a combination of the above. When this happens...well...that’s when warnings are issued.

I live in a constant state of unhype...

Tomorrow, I will finally buy New Horizons and it’s going to be completely and utterly awful.
I just washed the bed sheets and they are going to smell like musty bread and grasshopper guts and will feel like sandpaper after my shower.
I bought a bottle of whiskey that I have yet to try and it’s probably going to taste like baby vomit .

Huh. They're basically just talking while refreshing Nintendo's YT page over and over. So basically another thing pointing to a shadowdrop, in case Jon "not a leaker" GameXplain knows something.
