Hey, here's a little game we can do: Suggest a character archetype that is lacking/nonexistent in Smash

A character who gets damaged due to their own attacks and they can heal themselves using certain attacks. For example Dungeon Fighter's Berserker and Carmine from Under Night.

There's been talk of a mech character and of a quadripedal character, but thanks to Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 2's release on Switch we can get both:

And yes, that mech suit is in fact piloted by a Welsh Corgi canine named Hachi (Bloodstained 2 gets a bit wacky).

Looks like a train.

We don't have any character that focus on status effect and I think it could be interesting. It could be a weak character AT first glance, but once the opponent is poisonned or paralysed the character have a advantage.

Another type of fighter that I would like to see is some kind of builder. Someone that could place turrets, build drones or other stuff. He start pretty weak, but when he have the time to build his stuff he's very strong.

Not sure who could fit those archetypes but it's the Idea I have for now.

The only character I could see that focuses on status effects is Riki from Xenoblade, considering his playstyle is all about filling DOTs on the enemy while also supporting the party with a healing art and raising the Party Gauge.

Hey, here's a little game we can do: Suggest a character archetype that is lacking/nonexistent in Smash, and see who could fill that archetype. For starters: An aerial heavyweight.

Some sort of "level up" or "mode" mechanic where the character starts weak, but gets progressively stronger if you make good plays. An example of a character that uses this in a fighting game would be Frank West in MvC3. Phoenix Wright also operates in a pretty similar manner in that same game.

A super heavyweight swordie and a character that could summon other characters for attacking would be interesting.

Or they could be a trio! The Vands. Like Ice Climbers but three of them and they're each thrice as large.

I never really understood the Revali hype. I'm more of a Goron gang type of guy. Also, I hate Revali.

Revali's basically bootleg Decidueye, and since Decidueye was brutally murdered by a cat I'll take the bootleg.

Revali would be cool, but I'd prefer Urbosa as a BOTW rep. I feel as though Revali would play as a mixture with Falco and Decidueye with Hero's Up-B.

Mods don't really have limits on who to make playable. There are Goku mods for Brawl/PM. If someone wants a cgharacter, they'll make them, no matter their state in the real game.

Not that Cacomallow isn't an obvious fake by this point and all, but how long ago were people actually able to do this? We saw that fake thing in November. Now it being easier doesn't mean it was easy over 9 months ago. It was possible to do so back then, of course. We've seen mods even then. They just spent a long time perfecting it before releasing a bad quality video.

This doesn't really say much about Cacomallow, just that making fakes as good as that is even easier now than before? Meaning it'll be hard to tell a real leak from a fake now, pretty much. Unless there's something else I'm missing here.

Eh, I wouldn't say awkward. It's not like you CAN use official new recordings when your playable status is via a mod.

Just as ready as I am for people to analyze the polygon count of models seen in leaks and come to the conclusion that there's 10 too few polys for them to be official fighter models.

Biggest reason I don't bother with image leaks anymore is because people nowadays are crazy talented and can do super impressive stuff when they're dedicated enough. If it's info from someone with an actual track record, I'll listen, but even then I always try to have room for doubt. Nothin' is ever fully set in stone until Nintendo announces it themselves.
