This post brings me nothing but pain I beg of every god out there to purge this from my memory and purge that haha super funny verbal tic from the rest of the franchise. Once again XB2 is ruining my life
Oh, is that a thing in the sequels? None of the other Nopons did it in the main game so I just thought it was a cute thing Riki's kids did.

It's their catchphrase in XB2 and all the Nopon say it every 4 sentences or so then, they kept that for Future Connected as all the Nopon say it there too
*Everyone says "No." before Cosmic gets the chance to say which two non-biped characters he thinks would be really neat in Smash.
I love how I've seen like 5 people claim Smash fans are biased against non-bipeds yet almost every Smash fan I know thinks Amaterasu, a literal dog, would be cool and even more cheered at Ivysaur's return

Hey, here's a little game we can do: Suggest a character archetype that is lacking/nonexistent in Smash, and see who could fill that archetype. For starters: An aerial heavyweight.
dedede already fills that niche i think

now i might be forgetting someone but actually i don't think we've had a full-on mecha character yet

we've had wacky robot dudes like rob, androids like mega man, tron bonne types like bowser jr, but i'm talking something more like a gundam

Daemon X Machina almost had a shot before it got Spirit killed.

Nah I get what you mean. Valve isn't really a competitor but it's more so centered around PC since they watched over the development of the platform until it became what it is thanks to Steam, PC in general isn't really a competitor but it's a different platform of gaming.

Sony doesn't really have a definitive mascot but Kratos is the only consistent Sony character that stuck around for so long through many different generations and didn't get dropped by Sony, whether that's due to pure luck, circumstances, or whatever. Chief has been the mascot of Xbox since day one so I get why he seems like the bigger deal since he's set in stone as Xbox's mascot forever.

Regardless, any of those three getting in would be pure insanity. And you know what? I think Smash does need some insanity.
Not trying to downplay Kratos, but Ratchet & Clank has been around longer & is still active. Though Sony does push Kratos (or Drake) a bit more as their mascot.

Master Chief, a Sony exclusive or Gordon Freeman the biggest single additions that’d push Ultimate’s newcomer roster over Brawl’s for me. But a mix of Crash, Dante, Steve, 2B, Doom Slayer or Jill/Leon/Claire would also work for me.

Ultimate’s roster is close to Brawl’s already. I guess they just have to appeal to my third party wants as much as Brawl appealed to my first party favorites.

Lightweight grappler

Midna would fill this niche pretty well.

Couldn't Bowser jr. count as a tank character?
One could count Bowser Jr. as a tank character yes. Kinda slow outside of Clown Kart Dash (or in the air), the Clown Car takes less damage than the pilot, kind of a straightforward character etc. He's just kinda undertuned at the moment.

The only question mark would be that Bowser Jr. has few reliable KO moves (Smash attacks, forward / back Air, jab finisher) - one would expect a tank character to have quite a lot off ways to reliably kill opponents.

Lightweight grappler

Midna would fill this niche pretty well.
One can kinda argue :ultdiddy: since he gets a lot of mileage out of his throws, but he doesn't exactly rely on his grabs to begin with. So yeah, Midna could fill an open niche pretty well.

To answer SharkLord's question, Life drain has not been explored at all outside of Nosferatu (IIRC), so a vampire / succubus character has quite an open niche here.

How about a fast heavyweight with big disjoints and no projectile that’s good in mid range? Yeah that’s Magnus. Or a high skill “mode” character with so many tools it’ll make you dizzy? That’s Dante. What about a fairly well rounded character with an air grab and multiple single use moves that can change the course of the match? That’s Nero. Element powers? Issac or Mathew.

Nah, there's an even better rep for Xenoblade.

His moveset is just punching people who crashed the mobile artillery in a house.

We don't have any character that focus on status effect and I think it could be interesting. It could be a weak character AT first glance, but once the opponent is poisonned or paralysed the character have a advantage.

Another type of fighter that I would like to see is some kind of builder. Someone that could place turrets, build drones or other stuff. He start pretty weak, but when he have the time to build his stuff he's very strong.

Not sure who could fit those archetypes but it's the Idea I have for now.

There's been talk of a mech character and of a quadripedal character, but thanks to Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 2's release on Switch we can get both:

And yes, that mech suit is in fact piloted by a Welsh Corgi canine named Hachi (Bloodstained 2 gets a bit wacky).
