Seeing all these fake codename leaks for characters that are obviously supposed to be Geno makes me wish Terry's codename had been leaked a lot earlier.

Imagine how much different the reaction to Terry would've been if people had spent that past few months basking in the glory of knowing that "Dolly" was finally in Smash.

Not for me. My Top 30 list only has 2 Nintendo characters on it.

I also kinda wish Dolly leaked ahead of time, just for the hilarity of it. Byelth is the funniest thing to happen to Smash in a long time and I crave for more stuff like that. Does that make me a bad person? I didn't have any strong feelings towards Byleth but my friend loves Three Houses and his reaction to Byleth was so positive and genuine I wouldn't trade his newcomer spot for anything.

Maybe it's because my dream Smash was all past veterans plus Ridley and K. Rool so I've been satisfied since August 2018. My most wanted at this point is a Hyrule Warriors Impa and I know that's never happening so I'm just along for the ride at this point. I've enjoyed practically every reveal so far, I think because I just don't get upset at Smash speculation.

It’s not a bad deal if you think about it. I would’ve waited until all the fighters to be revealed to see if I should get it, but if I get it for free I wouldn’t have to worry about that at the risk of losing my life savings.

While I do agree that it's been beaten to death, Nintendo and Namco really should look at how other FGC companies do their online. There are some elements they could add without redoing their entire infrastructure already (like actually showing how good an opponent's connection is).

edit: like geno fans are not the ones making these fake leaks, its people who dont like geno and want to mess the community and the reason they go for geno is because hes a popular and controversial figure in the community. the fact that you want people to spend months hopeful for their character only to not get them in the end is disturbing.

While I do agree that it's been beaten to death, Nintendo and Namco really should look at how other FGC companies do their online. There are some elements they could add without redoing their entire infrastructure already (like actually showing how good an opponent's connection is).

Even that wouldn't really help. EVO is a compilation of some of the biggest fighting games in the industry and not a single one of them had good online so they had to be dropped from the main event. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 gets a pass because it preceded online, but still.

Really all fighting game devs should look to the games that actually made it to EVO this year.

Considering we never got those Spirits it likely means that Nintendo forgot they don't fully own it, as NoJ has ownership or publishing rights iirc, which then got the Spirits deleted when they went "Wait **** we don't actually own these"

iirc there was also data for Devil's Third, another game Nintendo published but doesn't own, so I'm pretty sure it is that.
