Merry Almost Christmas everyone!

Now here's a silly idea for a new holiday game! If you could pick any character that originated in Christmas-themed media (4th parties count) for Smash DLC, who would you choose?

Obvious memes aside I'd have to go with the Grinch, since he has a lot of hilarious moveset potential and either Mt. Crumpet or Whoville as seen in either of the movies would make for a fantastic and colorful stage!

My first choice would've normally been Charlie Brown but as a huge fan of Peanuts I have to say he unfortunately doesn't count. The Peanuts comic strip had already been running for 15 years when the special aired.

It's definitely a bias thing. Looking at how Kirby is represented majority of content comes from games Sakurai made. It feels like you got to twist Sakurai arm in order to include anything other Kirby content that wasn't made by him. Plus if Sakurai rather had put in a generic enemy instead of a character that people have been asking for that fit his arbitrary requirements then yeah, that character has zero priority of ever getting into Smash Bros, just like every other Nintendo character out there.

From what I remember, no. The thing came up later on. There is a special Waddle Dee that essentially was remade into it, but it's not directly(Bandanna Dee himself) made by him. I could totally be off on this, though?

I see it as this; who cares who someone wants. Respect it. Period. They have a right to their opinion. Criticizing can be done respectfully, after all.

Not every character has a remote chance either way. My top favorite has no chance in hell(to the point that Goku sounds more likely), but I still support 'em. The fact they're a video game character is the only reason I don't get scrutiny for my choice, though I already lay out why they really have no chance but if people want to support them, that's cool too. But being realistic is my way of supporting, even if I call some things wrong. No big deal, really. I mean, anybody can call a character wrong when speculating/predicting. Not like we know the whole story, heh.

It's funny that Joker counts as coming from christmas media since a major battle in P5 involves the Phantom thieves basically saving christmas.

It has to be the one and only Scrooge McDuck! My true fourth party want and this is a perfect excuse to get him bouncing into battle! Based on his NES incarnation, of course, but perhaps the stage can cycle through the famous stages from the game as well as a fun Christmas scene.

Hmm, I think I'd take Santa from Fight of Gods. He even has a moveset!

The other instances of Mega Man are much taller than Mega Man's current design in Smash. Proto Man and Bass could work though since they're all the same height and build in Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10. Bass would look super weird though.

I was also going to suggest that Mega Man X and Zero be echo fighters of each other but then I remembered they don't even receive the same weapons so I don't think that be a good idea.


Oh please, he's a recolor they decided to give a few seconds of coding and animation to. I don't think there is a "worst" roster pick, but I don't think the character they likely made in an afternoon should even be in the running.

EDIT: Sorry, that was a bit hostile. I just think Dark Pit gets a lot more flack than he deserves.

That statement was under the impression, said Mega Men would have their own moveset from Mega Man. Where as Chrom being a mix of Roy and Ike works for them as he's an Echo. A different Mega Man would have some base similarities but ultimately be very different from Rock, although still exist in cameo form as well like Chrom. Protoman and Bass(and Roll) being re-adjusted in their 8-Bit/MM7 proportions like Mega Man would be fine if he got an echo instead.

Mega Man X and Zero have mostly different upgrades, if you make Zero an Echo of Mega Man X, you'd REALLY have to limit which attacks each brings to the table. Which in my opinion, defeats the purpose of using either one. Both have Shoryuken type moves, a ground punch and some stuff like Yammark Option. But aside from that, they are VERY different characters moveset wise.

Starforce Mega Man and Mega Man .EXE could be echoes of one another, though even they have dozens of exclusive attacks no one else can use.

We spent most of the time bored and and frustrated to the point of screaming, and we ended up stopping an hour in.

Easily the worst piece of entertainment I've ever seen in my life. It makes Emoji Movie look like a masterpiece

Boba Fett would work too.

I may get a whole lotta slack for this, but I honestly find Boba Fett kinda overrated

he has like the lamest death in Star Wars history

Same, would go with the Grinch. His Final Smash would be him putting the opponent in the sleigh full of presents and stuff then lifts it up and throws the whole thing off Mt Crumpet.

As someone who's survived the whole thing, you're not missing much of anything really. The only sequences with any entertainment value IMHO is the animated sequence and Bea Arthur's part (she was no stranger to the 70s variety shows, which the Holiday Special was).

The special's lack of quality is especially visible at the end: with Leia's song. Carrie and the others look bored / or stoned out of their minds. Really, it's kind of a wonder the franchise survived that rushed trainwreck.

As for Boba, he has the old Expanded Universe to thank. Not least since he fought his way out of the pit / mouth.

Yeah that's nice and all but where's the Smash hint you were trying to show me? Like, I looked like 7 different times but i'm still not seeing anything. Literally what is it that you want me to see?

I feel like I see more people telling others to chill on Smash news than I see Thirst Masters......but yeah. Just enjoy the time off or hanging out with your family. Holiday vibes and all that jazz.

They could just make GBA Zero a costume yeah. If they wanted a Simon/Richter deal, Geo and .EXE could borrow moves from each other. MMX and Zero could too, but their differences are more drastic I feel. Like, you could even put Mega Man X and Axl in a fighting game(not just Smash) and in theory, make them have a Ryu/Ken dynamic, but that would mostly be limiting on Mega Man X's part, since he'd mostly stick to MMX7 weapons, where he and Axl share the same boss weapons.

Final Smash characters being playable at least happened once. And while it's pretty unlikely to happen again, I'm still gonna show some support for Mega Man X and the rest of the Gang Members. But if we did see someone get the AT upgrade, it'll probably be Waluigi because of how popular he is in the context of Smash. Outside of Smash, Knuckles and Zero I'm pretty sure are Waaaaaaaaay more popular. Heck, even Guile might be too.
