Hmm, neither have a company in common besides the two you listed. Tekken got Akuma, and I guess Smash got Ken, but there's no equivalent for SC.
Did they have a tourney yet? What’s the pattern in terms of spirit boards and or tournaments before a reveal?

Geno and Bandana Dee are characters that were actually important to the games that they hailed from rather than being a stage hazard among dozens of other generic mooks. They also have incredibly large fanbases in it of themselves, while Plant had none. I don't even have either of these two characters as my most wanted, but I can still acknowledge they have a lot more people asking for them than Plant had before.
The way I see it is Piranha Plant is that character that's in every fan-game that was only there because the creator had a moveset idea, damn the character's actual relevance in the fandom or the narrative. Like Vaporeon in Super Smash Land (the game that went on to become Rivals of Aether) or the one moveset for Pidgeotto that's stuck in my head (I don't even like that Pokemon but there it is.)
Eiha specifically was chosen over all other spells to represent all the cursing Sakurai did under his breath as he was force to endure a 100 hour dating sim.
You think I'm saying this stuff so I can get people's support? Hell no. I don't give a crap about if people think the same as I do about Piranha Plant or the ballot, I'm just saying it how it is. We all have stupid opinions, such as thinking that Geno still has a legit shot in Ultimate, and we all still say it anyways. I already moved on and made peace that many fan request character that even I don't really care for are dead, but it still doesn't make any of the crappy situation better. People can call me out of this stuff all they want, ain't going to change anything.
It's true though. Sakurai still hasn't added Nester from Nester's Funky Bowling to smash yet.
That interview with Sakurai and Hori was a great read. It's wholesome how two big series I grew up with crossover and everybody in the room is just having a good time.
Really don’t want to burst your bubble, but yesterday I discovered something that could potentially point to a Geno Mii costume. Not 100%, but it could be a potential hit against him.
If you had made your peace with it and moved on, you wouldn't feel the need to comment about it constantly and could be talking about the parts of Smash you enjoy and what else you look forward to. And I get it you're pessimistic, but that doesn't mean exciting additions aren't coming. Geno does still have a chance honestly, as do a great number of characters, especially in a post Fighter's Pass DLC world where the rules are largely unwritten and unknown.

I keep forgetting that negativity is not allowed in Smash Boards, you can only say happy positive things. No, I'm criticizing what's been going on and how things are playing out. The more we keep trying to sweeping all the negativity under the rug means it's more likely to happen all over again. For a lot that Smash Bros Ultimate does right it does stuff wrong as well that should be address, and it hasn't done anything to make me think that things will be different. Geno isn't coming, many fan favorite characters are never going to make it in, not even in the post Fighters Pass. I made peace that many of these fan favorite characters from the ballot are never going to see the light of day, but it doesn't mean I need to grind my teeth and be excited for Ultimate's future while ignoring all the signs that point in what direction it's going which just so happens to be in same directions that I keep complaining about. I made peace with the present and past, but the future isn't going to be different.

Not to be rude, but...why take part in speculation, then? You clearly don't like the direction the game has taken and are convinced it won't get better, so why spend so much energy on something that bothers you and you don't find fun or interesting anymore?
