After Seeing what the thread was all about “is Steve still coming verge?” And mc content still not disproven It’s pretty much likley have to do with a Steve mii but that’s just me

He wanted to step back from “hero’s” and “villains” and it would be boring to keep going with that trend so they went outside that with a enemy (also most recognizable of the bunch)

I was very underwhelmed by Plant's inclusion though not really mad about it or anything. But adding a character just for the sake of some variation from heroes and villains isn't instantly going to make the character likable or a good inclusion. I get that some people enjoy the Plant, but for me he does absolutely nothing and I think there were better options even considering the criteria Sakurai was looking for. It's all in the past now though, so meh whatever.

Not to be rude, but...why take part in speculation, then? You clearly don't like the direction the game has taken and are convinced it won't get better, so why spend so much energy on something that bothers you and you don't find fun or interesting anymore?

Never said that it wasn't fun or interesting. I like majority of the Fighters Pass characters, don't get me wrong I still like Ultimate, but it kind of sucks that there are characters that are just perfect and would make these fans really happy but just won't ever get their shot. DLC is most likely just going to keep being third party characters that people never really thought about or asked for so they can continue touting Smash Ultimate as the biggest crossover game with so many different series while the Nintendo side of characters continue to get sidelined. There's no real speculation to be had when it can literally be anyone and you have a prominent list of characters that just won't happen. So while I'm okay with the DLC there is still some problems that most likely ain't ever going to be address.

Sometimes, Sakurai just doesn’t have the time or stuff needed to achieve some fan requests into reality.

The Smash fandom has a serious problem about asking too much but never taking into consideration the reasons why Smash Ultimate does happen to be a really rare and uncommon case in the gaming industry.

Not gonna lie, I’d be incredibly disappointed due to having no connection or interest in Fire Emblem. I’d still buy it though if they have cool movesets.

I've been saying for over a year now that the Minecraft thing was probably wrong, but people kept saying, "Oh, but it's Verge who said it, and since he's gotten everything else right so far, it's obviously happening at some point."

There's still a chance we do get Minecraft content with the last character of the pass, but this is literally the last chance for it to happen. Anything afterwards wouldn't apply to what Verge had supposedly heard in May 2018.

Ironic cause currently the most popular Fire Emblem characters in usage are either direct clones or semi clones of Marth. While Marth, Ike, Corrin and Robin enjoy was less popularity and all bring great contrast to Marth's playing style compared to the more popular characters.

Actually Ice Climbers were intended to return for Sm4sh but didn't given they were able to function on the Wii U but otherwise the 3DS' technical specifications made it difficult to properly incorporate the two.

Again, hey I'd like it, but at the same time if they were going to do an FE pass, I would've preferred a bit more cast variation than 5 characters from one game. Celica, Ephraim, Lyn, Hector, Micaiah, maybe the Smash fanbase would do well to get some characters that aren't from whatever is the latest game.

It would be the Ultimate Fire Emblem love letter, a reminder of Fire Emblem's humble beginnings to the present, plus it would have characters who each play significantly different from each other.

I don't think you should take someone seriously if they judge a series based on how much content it gets in Smash.

I keep forgetting that negativity is not allowed in Smash Boards, you can only say happy positive things. No, I'm criticizing what's been going on and how things are playing out. The more we keep trying to sweeping all the negativity under the rug means it's more likely to happen all over again. For a lot that Smash Bros Ultimate does right it does stuff wrong as well that should be address, and it hasn't done anything to make me think that things will be different. Geno isn't coming, many fan favorite characters are never going to make it in, not even in the post Fighters Pass. I made peace that many of these fan favorite characters from the ballot are never going to see the light of day, but it doesn't mean I need to grind my teeth and be excited for Ultimate's future while ignoring all the signs that point in what direction it's going which just so happens to be in same directions that I keep complaining about. I made peace with the present and past, but the future isn't going to be different.

You're acting like fan request characters take more time to make than any other characters. Each character takes just as much resources to make, unless they're third party characters due to licensing, so if they plan to make more characters what kind of magical restraint is there that's prevent DLC characters to be fan requested characters? Besides the restraint that Sakurai doesn't want to make those characters playable.

A mix of joy and anger because a character I wanted (Byleth) got in, but then more Fire Emblem characters from a specific game got in.

I wouldn't do it, but if I were, then I'd give Corrin the shaft in favor of Byleth.

Unique only: Roy with Byleth

I know people hate Corrin, but he does have a unique moveset, and I'd rather lose a clone over someone completely unique. Also, I'd prefer Byleth over Edelgard, though I don't particularly care for either TBH.
