This disconfirm garbage from prominent leakers is getting kind of old. And it's so convoluted that what they say isn't interesting anymore.

Someone go on 4Chan and make a fake image leak or something. (I won't go on that site to do it because it's a cesspool.) Get us all riled up for a change because speculation since Terry has been BORING!

Personally, I think that there is some information that is wrong regarding who isn't FP5. I have this gut feeling that someone that was disconfirmed (or a character from that same company) is in. For example, Bethesda. I never predicted or thought about Doomguy for whatever reason, but as soon as he was mentioned and Bethesda said they've definitely talked to Nintendo about Smash (and with how buddy-buddy they've been with the Switch), it makes me feel like there is something there. Ironically, I think it's an Elder Scrolls character, not a Doom one.

Most of our characters have been well-known-ish, enough that most people in the community weren't saying, "Who?" I've been following Smash speculation almost daily since Sm4sh was announced and before a little with Brawl, and the only character I didn't here about was Joker (but even then I knew about his franchise). Then along comes Terry, who was the only one I truly didn't know about at all. But here's the thing: he was kind of an "odd-ball" pick (admitted by Sakurai himself in the live-stream implicitly with his comment). So when people are speculating KOS-MOS or Reimu or even Ryu Hayabusa, I just don't see them beating out the characters from popular or impactful franchises (Doomguy, Crash, Tracer, etc), or those adored by the Smash community (Geno, Isaac, Lloyd, etc.)

She has just as much right to want "generic female character" as I am to want "more Sonic characters".

Someone mentioned something about Under Night in Birth. The most I know about the characters, are from what I saw in BBTAG.

Thinking back on it although I know Hyde is the main character, I really like Yuzuriha's Iaijutsu fighting style (how she pulls off this swordstyle with such a long blade I can't begin to imagine), she also uses her coat to fight too.

From what I know she cheerful, and carefree, but when she serious in battle, she's nothing less than scary.

So what would you all think if Yuzuriha made it in Smash?

I don't know. This whole pass is basically made up of the characters that Sakurai really loves; like Joker, Dragon Quest, and Terry. I'm sure the Fifth Fighter is going to fall in the same line as being one of Sakurai's favorite character, who knows who that would be.

I usually believe that if a rumor sticks around, there's usually something to it.
And no character has been sticking around quite as consistently as Hayabusa with Doom Slayer, Crash Bandicoot, and Lloyd Irving trailing close behind.
That's why I put them in my signature and prediction lists.
And before people bring up fake leaks, remember that fake leaks often piggyback off of real ones.
Remember how many fake leaks had Erdrick and Banjo?

And we are taking about Smash.
It is fair to speculate about the inclusion of female characters in Smash.
Though the underlying cause could be seen as political, it is still Smash Speculation.
MANY people think FP5 is due to be female. PapaGenos and GameXplain mention it a lot.
The video was meant to explain why representation in media is important better than I ever could.

What I'm gathering from this current conversation is that Claude von Riegan is more suitable a candidate to add to Smash on the grounds of representation than any female character.
Which I'm totally cool with, Claude's an awesome character, and I guarantee the outrage of him being a Fire Emblem character would outweigh any potential controversy of putting a black character in Smash.
