Well there's one bit of news, Seth is back in Street Fighter with a new look.

Hello there everyone, I'm kinda late to the party for the VGA but why there was no reveal of the 5th DLC ? I thought it was a given or I was mistaken ? And what are the speculation ?

One of the games that was absent was Half-Life: Alnx.
Perhaps Gordon Freeman WAS going revealed as FP5 and was going to be shown alongside the new Half-Life title, but then Valve pulled out.
Remind me, who deconfirmed Gordon: Sabi or Vergeben?

For Arc System I think Noel Vermillion might be possible given how Arc seems to treat her. Also for Spike Chunsoft I think Naegi Makoto ,Hinata Hajime, or Saihara Shuichi might be possible along with Monokuma.

One potential obstacle for Noel would be CERO IF she incorporates Mu-12 into her moveset.
Otherwise I think she would work fine.

It's a new fighting game IP that's sold over 2 million... it's outsold previously established IPs in more popular genres on the Switch. It even outdid Xenoblade 2, a game that gets to ride off general Xeno hype and had tons of pre-release promotion including a crossover with Breath of the Wild.

And yet people are more reluctant to say it deserves a slot in Smash. It's absolutely bizarre. And people give bizarre reasons for why it doesn't deserve it, like "well it's big but not as big as Splatoon". Name an IP on the Switch or Wii U that IS as big as Splatoon, then.

I'm not even that big a fan of ARMS, I enjoyed the online demo, bought it, found it lacking and traded it in. But in terms of stages, characters, music it has more than enough, especially if they treat the roster as equals and not just gravitate to Springman. I think Minmin or Twintelle would gain a lot of attention. Personally I'd want Master Mummy.

3. Dillon's Rolling Western
4. The Wonderful 101
5. Advance Wars
6. Sin and Punishment
7. Panel de Pon (is this even a Nintendo series?)

And I ran out of ideas right there which goes to show how limited the options are. I did consider Takamaru and other retro characters but retros are just too wildcard for me to try and rank anywhere.

Mainly ones that Sakurai has previously considered but didn't give them fighters for reasons other than being unreleased outside of Japan: ARMS, Rhythm Heaven, Mach Rider.

Raphael is dumb and Ignatz is lame.

I myself killed off Ignatz and Lorenz purposefully in my Golden Deer run and made Raphael a ****ty underleveled healer. I actually would highly recommend this as I didn't have to deal with any under-performance on the battlefield or any insufferablility (insufferableness?) in the supports. 10/10 Did the same thing with Caspar on Crimson Flower maddening and would absolutely feed Ashe to the wolves too.

So an interesting question just popped into my mind and I'm curious to here what you guys think. What first party Nintendo series that does not yet have a character do you think is most likely to receive one? There clearly isn't a clear option here and it seems very unlikely that we're going to get any new first party Nintendo series in the DLC but that's what makes the question interesting imo.

Many people would have said ARMS in the lead up to Ultimate but I think most of can agree that the ARMS momentum has greatly slowed since then. The game wasn't a failure by any stretch but it wasn't really a huge success either and a sequel is just one of those things that may or may not happen. Though honestly it might still be the frontrunner because of an extreme lack of options. I'd personally order it this way:

It strikes me that I only shared this video with the people in the Isaac thread and on Twitter, who likely know most of it already. Well, I made a video about the journey of Isaac/Golden Sun in Smash Bros and Ultimate and how it's much more likely that you might think that we'll see a playable Venus Adept and new Golden Sun Switch game in the next year.

You just summed up why people don't push ARMS that much. It's a great game with a lot of fun characters and stages (except for Snake Park), but the lack of gameplay variety kills it. ARMS's popularity was just a flash in the pan.

It's a shame we didn't get a character from it since it won't have the opportunity later on and Spring Man & friends would be pretty cool as fighters. It would also mean we'd get to listen to Sky Arena, [NAME REDACTED], and Sky Arena (Night).

While this could be a coincidence, Seth was a friggin weird character to predict.... To the point of awkward, I even dismissed the leak in part because Seth was just such a friggin awkward pick. Not a fan favourite even from his game (c.viper or Rufus were a lot more likely) or even a common speculation point between the "weird" choices like Oro, Q, or twelve.

To put it plainly, predicting Seth would have been like predicting Terry before the snk leak... Not superrrr impossible, but against all speculation trends.

Obviously, for me this is waaay too good to be true, and like when I took with a mountain of salt the Ridley / Simon leak that was from a credible leaker about my 2 most wanted characters I shall took this one with salt considering at least the date is wrong.

I would love to know if Seth was leaked before for Street fighter V which is always an option that this random 4chan leak was just piggybacking.

X-Kira leaked Gill and Seth for SFV long before anyone else did, IIRC, so the leak that you're talking about is probably just piggybacking on him.

Seth's new design confused me as well. I think it's the idea the Yin and Yang represent a harmony of opposites. Man and Women are among the list of those opposites, so it's not too big of a stretch to say that Seth could gender swap if Yin and Yang are what it's drawing power from.

There probably isn't one, though I'd wager Rhythm Heaven Megamix has the most content if you've got a working 3Ds.

Otherwise there's Rhythm Heaven Fever on the Wii, Rhythm Heaven on the DS, and Rhythm Tengoku if you've got a Japanese Gameboy Advance.

I see no problem with micro transactions as long as they're purely cosmetic.

I'd say Megamix

It's pretty much the Warioware Gold of the series, being a "best of" collection of sorts. It has all of the essential minigames.

some of em can be a little tedious to unlock assuming you have to perfect a ton of the others, but other than that, I'd say it's solid

It's not so much retro but more so that it's connected to the NES-era and lived way beyond that (still open for a return...eventually). Being the last, long-running NES-series while also leaving it's impact gives it some power IMO. And given the empahsis on movesets by Sakurai recently, I can only see that helping Andy's case that he does what no one else on the roster can do. Things work out pretty well for Andy although I just wish he had the same demand as Isaac.

Also to a lesser extent, Earthbound is kinda in a similar boat given it's protag didn't even star in the first installment. Same deal with Andy/The Wars series IMO.

Yep, don't know how that one slipped my mind lol. It's definitely more likely then most of what I listed. I'd put it maybe slightly below Golden Sun in terms of likelihood if only because of the significant difference in fan demand. As for Astral Chain and Ring Fit Adventure, those are currently in a buffer zone for me where it's too hard to make an accurate judgement on their chances based on how recent the games are so I didn't include them solely because of that.

Also I didn't know ARMS was the success that it was. I bought it and enjoyed it enough but haven't really gone back to it in a while. I was aware that many people had jumped on it as a failure but that wasn't really true. I was not aware that it was quite the opposite though, I guess Splatoon really being the first big new IP in a long time made everyone forget that not every new IP sells an easy 5 million.

tbh I wouldn't want any of those... Only alt costume I'd really want is Twilight Princess Zelda, but even then, I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay more than $1 for that.

Seth was the only main boss that wasn't in the game, bruh. The moment that Champion Edition was announced, people suspected Seth because SF2 Champion Edition made all of its bosses playable. X-Kira also leaked Seth along with Gill, although the latter was in the game's files for a long ass time.

I don't want microtransaction alternate colors / costumes for the characters in the roster. With the Miis, it makes sense because they are made to be avatars and to embody three very broad archetypes anyway. Plus, though I doubt it's intentional, I don't see Miis online as much as other characters.

If anything, I'm hoping we get a patch that expands the number of colors from 8 to 12 or 16 for certain characters, like Ike, Little Mac, Wario, the Hero, etc. I'd love to get the black Yoshi color back, for example, but I wouldn't enjoy paying a dollar or 75 cents to get it back. Between all the non Mii characters on the roster that Nintendo could easily apply this to, it would add up to having to pay almost $50-60 if Nintendo thought they could get away with it (and they could).

Seth and Gill also conveniently reuse a lot of assets so they had that going for them too.

See, I do have an issue with purely cosmetic microtransactions, so they're no different than anything else MTX wise to me. They all cause problems and exist to charge obscene amounts of money from the player, especially those that enjoy having all the content in the game. Nintendo already does enough in terms of the Mii fighter costumes, I don't need more stuff thrown up for sale on Smash.

I wouldn’t be surprised if both end up being Sans style Mii costumes that include a music track. Just don’t bring it up to Geno fans ok?
