I'd like to see an Undertale stage just as much as a character. Traveling through the underground and seeing all the characters in 3D would be amazing Plus the music! If Sakurai wanted to go above and beyond, maybe a codec of sorts?

They should bring Smash Run back tbh.
I want Smash Run and Melee's Adventure mode mashed together somewhat. It would make for a fun solo-player experience IMO.

Smash Run multiplayer only seems to be effective with Local Play. I couldn't begin to imagine the potential lag with Wi-Fi

That would be pretty good. But I meant fixing stages like Summit and The Living Room which STILL have hazards with them "off".
Hazard toggle is trash. Some stages are awful with hazards and competitive without (Brinstar, Pokemon Stadium). Some stages are better with hazards (Dreamland, FoD). Remember back when the stage list for the larger tournaments first ran into this issue?

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Smashville/Town and City are being used with Hazards On, and Pokemon Stadium 2 and Kalos Pokemon League are being used with hazards off. In the middle of a match, players need to back all the way out to rules selection. Just let us have hazards on or off option on the stage select screen.

I wish we had a larger variety of legal stages.

Like bro if Mementos was just a bit shorter in length there could've been potential.

I find that blank stare and large eyes to be really ugly but more power to ya
On my first playthrough with the black eagles, I considered hooking up with Edelgard but her personality was the biggest turnoff to me. Her politics aside, I just thought she was stubborn and full of herself. Petra and Dorothea were much funner to pursue.

All I gotta say is, Edelgard aside, Black Eagles is imo the best house for waifus and Golden Deer is probably the best house for husbandos. At least that's the consensus I've been seeing.

I was making a joke about how in the marketing in three house, they put alot of emphasis on Edelgard
I'd say early marketing focused a lot on Edelgard (the E3 trailers in particular), but later marketing seemed to focus more on all three lords to emphasis the House mechanic and the multiple routes.

Besides, Edelgard isn't the most marketable character to a general audience, especially after time skip.

Some of the character I've suggested as playable, I'd be down for as Assist Trophies if it came down to it (since they kind of work better that way anyway or have no chance of actually making it)
So Quinty, Segata Sanshiro, and Maple assist trophies in addition to the Triforce of Ancients from Eternal Darkness.

Standalone stages for series that aren't apt to get fighters would be good as well.
  • Doshin the Giant
  • Galactic Pinball
  • Silent Hill
  • Comix Zone
  • Crazy Taxi
  • etc.

Weight theory means absolutely nothing when a potted plant is heavier than a giant space dragon.
He has hollow bones and little actual body-mass like a bird. Totally makes sense.

Sc- Capcom vs the World
In the Scott Pilgrim artstyle?

Just wondering: how many of you would pick up the Master Chief Collection if it came to Switch?

I've only played Halo CE and Reach; both were fantastic. I'd be sooo happy to have a portable Halo 2 and 3 w full online functionality

Halo has always interested me and I think the music is incredible, so I'd most likely pick up a physical copy if such a thing happened.

...unless the whole thing doesn't fit on the cart.

So an interesting question just popped into my mind and I'm curious to here what you guys think. What first party Nintendo series that does not yet have a character do you think is most likely to receive one? There clearly isn't a clear option here and it seems very unlikely that we're going to get any new first party Nintendo series in the DLC but that's what makes the question interesting imo.

Many people would have said ARMS in the lead up to Ultimate but I think most of can agree that the ARMS momentum has greatly slowed since then. The game wasn't a failure by any stretch but it wasn't really a huge success either and a sequel is just one of those things that may or may not happen. Though honestly it might still be the frontrunner because of an extreme lack of options. I'd personally order it this way:

1. ARMS (by a thread over Golden Sun)
2. Golden Sun
3. Dillon's Rolling Western
4. The Wonderful 101
5. Advance Wars
6. Sin and Punishment
7. Panel de Pon (is this even a Nintendo series?)

And I ran out of ideas right there which goes to show how limited the options are. I did consider Takamaru and other retro characters but retros are just too wildcard for me to try and rank anywhere.

I still say ARMS, just because the springy arms gimmick that each of the characters have is so specific to ARMS you'd have a difficult time finding someone similar and notable enough to add instead.

Mainly ones that Sakurai has previously considered but didn't give them fighters for reasons other than being unreleased outside of Japan: ARMS, Rhythm Heaven, Mach Rider.

The Mysterious Murasame Castle is in a gray area, because Nintendo has done more to expose it outside of Japan after Takamaru got AT'd, but he's still one after that happened.

Special mention to Golden Sun, who I believe would probably have gotten a fighter if they had time to make a stage for them. I don't think it's irrelevancy because K. Rool doesn't represent how newer DKC games do away with the Kremlings, and being a DK fighter means he has plenty of stages.

Probably wouldn't.

Only one I've played is the original Halo back when it first released and it didn't really do much for me. Not super into 'traditional' FPS games in general, and I've zero interest in multiplayer at all, so not really much there.

I'd still say ARMs. Even if there isn't a huge amount of external interest, I'd imagine there's still a fair deal of internal support for it.
Beyond that, Ring Fit Adventure, Dragalia Lost, Rhythm Heaven (;-/), and then likely Golden Sun.

As for what I'd want next, obviously Captain N and Eternal Darkness, followed by Another Code.

The Wars series (loud, audible gasps from everyone)

I know I might be biased here given my history here but the Wars series is the last long-running franchise from the NES-era left in Smash and Sakurai loves him the NES-era. Essentially, it would fit the theme of most of the DLC characters to a tee given Dragon Quest & Fatal Fury. Wars might not be as proflic as those two but it's left it's impact on not only Nintendo history but gaming history (evident with recent titles like Mario X Rabbids that was inspired by AW & FE and Wargroove/Tiny Metal).

Some folks don't know this as well but in addition to bringing FE to the West, AW was also responsible for shifting Nintendo's taste's towards complex games for the western market. It's incredible how a relatively niche series could have that much of an impact.

Combine that with the respect AW has in the gaming public, the Wars series doing about 3 Million sales worldwide, Andy's insane moveset potential, and the history I mentioned above, it really desrves it's place in the crossover of all crossovers like Ultimate.

Oh yeah, not to mention it's renowned soundtrack being featured in the game.Worth the price of admission and then some. :)

Behind that, I would say Golden Sun for it's popularity and Astral Chain for relevancy. All great picks in their own right of course.

- COSTUMES! This is a goldmine for Nintendo yet they refuse to do it. IMAGINE if they gave every character an additional costume... they'd be rolling in dough.
- More items in Stage Builder
- Every stage NOT in Ult added in
- Squad Strike added to online
Smash is the only game I've ever seen where a fan base is actively begging for cosmetic microtransactions to nickel and dime them out of their savings.

Including second parties and excluding retro choices like Marvelous: Mohitotsu no Takarajima, Shin Onigashima, and Time Twist, this is what I can think of at the moment.

Astral Chain, Ring Fit Adventure, Snipperclips, Elite Beat Agents, Rhythm Heaven, Wave Race, 1080* Snowboarding, Style Boutique, Kiki Trick, Nintendoland, Dragalia Lost (thanks for reminding me, GK), Trace Memory, Custom Robo, Famicom Detective (this s*** is retro but they are bringing it back), Paper Mario, and maybe Baiten Kaitos Origins.

Those are possible picks but there's also lesser known s*** like Sushi Strikers. We have Wii Fit in so they might say f*** it and put 1-2-Switch or Labo as well.

A new fighting game selling over two million out the gate is pretty successful and Nintendo will be returning to it. For perspective, that's more than Kirby, Metroid, Star Fox, FE, Xenoblade, etc. sell on average. I feel the barometer people are holding it up to is Splatoon, which is a bit absurd.

So yeah, it's ARMS. It already would've received a character with its single title had timing been different. It's not super exciting, but that's the answer.

And there's a big precipice between ARMS and whatever number two is, whether it's Astral Chain, Golden Sun, or Rhythm Heaven (but it's one of those three, though none are particularly likely at this junction). Well unless Ring Fit Adventure has performed very well, but I'm unaware of its reception.
