It's just hard for me to imagine Nintendo hardcore going into paid DLC seasons like other fighting games when they've historically been very conservative with DLC. Only other game that got this much support was Spatoon 2, and one instance isn't exactly a pattern, especially when Mario Kart 8 of all things only had two packs on Wii U and then nothing on Switch.

Yeah. Post pass could be the very last wave assuming it's 2 min and 5 max going off their previous models.

There were some alleged leaks that claimed she'd be revealed at the Game Awards. I think they got some details right, like Terry's release date or the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC, but the way I see it with leaks like that (I think they were anonymous 4chan posts), a stopped clock is right twice a day. (alternatively, if you throw enough darts at a dartboard, eventually, one of them is going to hit)

I'm kind of in the mindset that 2-3 is what I'm expecting and if we somehow get another full pass of 5 it'd be a miracle.

Smash won't get a reboot after Ultimate. Just updated versions of Ultimate, probably with a slightly different engine, mostly the same graphics but polished up, the same cast but with newcomers and new Echoes and a few new modes and a totally new Adventure Mode.

I think it's 90% likely this will happen. And maybe a spin off with a total different sort of gameplay, like a traditional fighter or something.

In case Smash goes the traditional fighter route, I expect way less goofy, gimicky and kiddy fighters and mostly mature and cool looking characters, along with a few fan favourites. Kirby and Pikachu will still be there of course.

Even then if anyone is gonna get removed. It'll be the 3rd parties notablywho Sakurai almost couldn't have gotten back for Ultimate due to Square's stinginess.

Doubtful. The reason Echos were done was to save data and adding additional fighters people had wanted which would had been time consuming.

Not really when it was the only one and YT has the worst copy-strike system in the world. Could've easily been someone trying to make KOS-MOS look more likely through a copy-strike troll.

It was a mod video, though. Nintendo removes those all the time, assuming it was actually them. Not to mention is was only just that one.

What they mean is that Vergeben, who has pretty much delivered the most reliable leaked insider info has named many characters/companies that are not FP5. The likes of Doom Guy, Ryu Hayabusa, Crash, Tracer, Phoenix Wright, Dante, Amaterasu, Monster Hunter, the entirety of Bandai-Namco, Sony and many others have already been "killed". At this point, there are very few characters or companies that are really left for FP5, among them Nintendo (even Spirit/AT promotions), Bethesda and a couple of others. KOS-MOS is in a bit of confusing spot since even thoug she's owned by Bandai-Namco, Vergeben's source was uncertain when specifically asked about her.

Youtube has the worst copyright system in the world, as stated before in this thread. Anyone can impersonate a company to strike down any video they want. It was the only KOS-MOS mod video taken down if I’m not mistaken, and it said “Mario Kart Tour” in the strike for crying out loud. And the company name “Nintendo” completely contradicts every other strike done by them, which says “Nintendo of America Inc”

If this doesn’t all reek of a false flag to you, idk what will.

Smash Direct this week? I think there's a 10% chance of this happening if only because the last FP character needs to be revealed and Sakurai needs to disclose info about post-pass stuff. It could be handled in a Direct, sure but maybe having all the Smash stuff in one smaller Direct is the way to go.

It's not so much wanting your characters than it is paying out all those companies for the rights for those characters again. Which Nintendo could prob do maybe but it depends. That's one thing but also roster size is something Sakurai would consider. I would totally be fine with a 100+ roster but balance issues are a thing.

So between licensing, balance issues, and maybe some other things said concept might not happen. But like I said, I would love for it to happen.

She's still one of my most wanted characters and one I feel is the most likely choice for a new Xeno rep after Rex, but I feel like her chances are near non-existent with those text "leaks" being debunked and the steep competition she faces from other third parties.

TBH, I wouldn't be entirely against a Smash game that makes cuts on characters/stages and whatnot depending on:

1. Who/what gets cut
2. What we get in return

I mean, I'm not going to pretend to be upset if Toon Link and Young Link get cut, or Dr. Mario, Or Incineroar or Pirahna Plant, or Pichu, Or 2 or 3 of the Fire Emblem characters (particularily Corrin or atleast one of the Awakening characters; I liked Awakening but 3 reps just from that? Yeesh). I also wouldn't give much of a crap if we lost the Mii characters. There are probably other characters I wouldn't lose sleep over seeing cut, but I kinda named some of the ones I'd be most okay with.

And if cutting back on content meant we could get a story mode that's actually legit good and MUCH better than Subspace or World of Light, that would certainly be great. if they got more creative with characters alts more characters got more than just recolors, that'd also be neat.

Oh yeah, and trophies.

As reliable as Verge has been, I’m taking his deconfirmations with a grain of salt now after that whole KOS-MOS incident. It just reeked of him trying to create a scenario where he would be right no matter what, in case those leaks were real.

There is also the thing about Sakurai wanting a new
xeno rep (as in a monoloth soft rep) while being unsure of the success of the dlc, which increases the chances of a new Xeno rep in the first dlc pack. And, Nintendo being consumer-friendly for their Switch dlc content, meaning they want Rex guys to at least have a single character they like and know in the fighter’s pass because the pass is literally a 25$ paywall for the 0.75$ Rex costume.

There's gonna be cuts again at some point, and I think that's what Sakurai is trying to prepare us for, as he's pointed out more than once that this is probably a one-time thing. But of course, no one will believe him because, "Sakurai is full of surprises!"

Like others have said, getting 12 or more unique third-party franchises to return will be really difficult, especially now that we have seven different third-party companies involved (Konami, Sega, Capcom, Namco, SE, Microsoft, SNK).

I consider Ultimate comparable to Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and KoF 2002 Unlimited Match. It's a large ass dream roster where they add as much s*** as possible and bring back old favorites. If future titles focus on adding new content and removing old s*** they will still sell. More importantly, after f***ing around with that for a game or three, Ultimate 2's "everyone is here again" will make Ultimate 1's roster look like a joke.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got an announcement this week. I anticipate a December reveal.

I feel like we need to investigate more on this case before we claim it’s real or fake. Putting down a paragraph doesn’t really determine anything. Can we ask the Nintendo company or any Nintendo workers about this?

Leonardo would be the main turtle. But his brothers, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello, all assist in smash attacks (Raph) grabs (Mikey) and specials (Donnie).

2) Swat Kats
Swappable character team mechanic. T-Bone is a tank and powerhouse. Razor is the nimble rushdown. Both use the same attacks, but their different attributes change their play style. (Think Speed Monado vs Smash Monado)
Their glovatrix carries a bunch of projectiles like Scrambler Missiles, Octopus Missiles, Bolos, Nets and Tarpedos, among others.
Grappling hook for recovery.

3) Wolverine
(we can have Marvel vs Capcom vs SNK!)

4) Mighty Morphin Power Ranger / Super Sentai Zyuuranger.

5) Mickey Mouse
He could pull moves out from the many games his starred in, like Magical Quest, Epic Mickey, Castle and World of Illussion, just to name a few.

He was considered for Base game but Ultimate's developing started before Xenoblade 2 happened.

Which is why we ended up with a Mii costume instead.

I mean, no one likes cuts, but IMO it's not crazy to expect some next go around (assuming Ultimate doesn't get ported to the Super Switch 2: Not Wii U Boogaloo).

The game's own director said Ultimate was a miracle and not to expect something like this to happen ever again. The next from the ground-up Smash will have cuts, and no one is saying they like it, they're just stating what will more than likely happen.

So Vergeben was also the leaker, that called Simon before he was out right? I heard something about that awhile ago. If he is, then That’s a pretty interesting claim.
