****. Koei-Tecmo is out, and I was really rooting for Dynasty Warriors being FP5.



All that's left now for me is Geralt since CD Projekt RED hasn't been deconfirmed yet, though the biggest ****ing wildcard of all would be York from Deadly Premonition since Red Star games is also not deconfirmed.

there's the 'he comes originally from a book' part, but given SMT's origins as a book series i'd see geralt as the ultimate litmus test to how much of a pre-video game connection is acceptable for smash

Even if we did get Sora, we wouldn't get the Disney characters. And let's be honest here, Disney is the biggest reason why most people care about Kingdom Hearts

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think the devs would be okay with Disney stuff in Kingdom Hearts as long as Sora's the only guy you play as. If they cut out the Mickey Mouse stuff, it would misrepresent his series somewhat. Heck, they wouldn't even need to be prominently featured; they could just be cameos or something.

That's true, but Katalina can get in independently from his claims. They will still get credit for iy...but again, they still said no Atlus character and they were the first to say "Steve is in", so iI doubt people will suddenly put them on the same level as Vergeben

Given that Sony has made some very promising moves and Nintendo's no longer a direct competitor to Sony or Microsoft, I do think they have a very real shot whether it's Fate or something more direct like Kratos / Kat.

Fate is more associated with the anime in the West. Japanese and invested fans know its visual novel roots.

All of those are adaptations of existing franchises, and none of them have replaced their source material. They exist alongside them, while also being practicallly non-existent in Smash. That's very different from something created solely to be whale bait.

OK time for an incorrect theory. Given that this was planned to be the last DLC character, and maybe the last character Sakurai ever worked on for Smash, it would make sense for it to be someone special to him.
