I just can't see Saber getting in.


I know Type-Moon, they don't normally like doing crossovers with other games. They have, but lately, they've been incredibly content focusing on FGO as their sole crossover machine.

Ergh. I'm hoping that some of that list was misworded, or that there was some misunderstanding along the way, because at this rate, chances are very high that I won't care about FP5 at all.

This is an absolute head scratcher. The most reasonable possibility I could think of based on that kill list is an Indie rep of some kind...? But by that same token, Shovel Knight and Shantae aren't in the cards, and while there are certainly other indies that could fit the bill, it's REALLY hard to see it being anyone who passes by the usual highly-requested Indies.

Obviously there's still other series and possibilities regardless of me drawing a blank, but... man, Fighter 5 is gonna be something Special if this is true, that much is evident.

The chances are high than that FP5 will be from a franchise that nobody in the West cares about, unless they're from EA (ew) or THQ (maybe). Then again, I didn't see Ubisoft

With Reimu dead, the only other BIG indie I can think of is Cave Story, and if Undertale wasn't big enough, and it's not Touhou, there's just no way it's an Indie I feel.

By this logic there's dozens of companies he didn't name.

But what matters is he killed pretty much every major contender shy of Sony and Type-Moon.

Arle from the Puyo Puyo series. Puyo Puyo is the biggest puzzle franchise there is after Tetris. She is an icon in Japan, but she is obscure outside of it. One of the biggest issues I had about her possibly being Fighter 5 was that she would be a virtual unknown for the audiences of the Game Awards Show, but if there is no character being show there, then she might still have a decent shot.

Arle seems to have the same color of hair as Daisy. Its a big stretch, but if people really think Daisy in that screenshot is a hint towards someone, I think many are sleeping on Arle.

I still say the most likely character is Phoenix Wright, but Arle is a dark horse. However, I am not confident that they would conclude the pass on such an obscure character. She is only well known within Japan.

Daisy likely represents base game newcomers.


Veteran character of the series in the pic is Mario.

Daisy was added in ultimate and is a pal of the veteran, as she was the only Mario series character added in the original launch roster. This is why she is in the pic - it ties both The Smash and Mario series together.

Then the DLC characters are in the pic as they were added throughout the year they are celebrating their inclusion and that Sakurai and team supported the game throughout the year.

Oh god, that means somebody from GTA has a chance. How could Sakurai even tone them down for Smash?! GTA's supposed to be violent, profane, and irreverrant.
