It's funny, because you can directly see who knows how leaks work and who doesn't.
Which by the way, Sabi isn't the only one deconfirming characters, Vergeben too.

I'll explain one last time. They have someone, a Source, that KNOWS FP5, and like, probably a sources that most of us would dream to have in the industry, no joke.
However, the name of the FP5 is so secret that just saying who it is would be easy to trace it back to the short amount of people who really knows who it is.
However? Deconfirming characters? That's easy, you can easily deconfirm characters since you're not breaking NDA or Risking any pursuit because you're just shooting down lies, not spreading the truth.

I know damn well how leaks work, but this is embarrassing and attention seeking behavior that doesn't require commitment on their part, and I'm also of the opinion, if you have nothing to say or have no information that you can give without causing issue, you're better off saying nothing and showing a little backbone.

And at no point did I say Sabi was the only one doing it, Vergeben deserves as much **** for this behavior as Sabi does... but Sabi has also been shown to be on a downward spiral of credibility for months and has shown us their transphobic nature and a mini-meltdown about the whole Maxwell/Jonesy leak in that time frame. ****ty behavior is ****ty behavior, and we continually normalize it by latching on to every little word and "reveal" because people are way too desperate for information.

the cat leak is unreliable and fake. And the evidence to it is all likely just coincidences

A text leak isn't fake until it's proven incorrect.

I personally don't put much faith in it myself and believe in KOS-MOS' chances for different reasons, but please stop acting like you're able to confirm the "leak" is bogus. We'll see for ourselves in a couple of weeks.

Kind of confused, I've seen people doubting Nightmare becasue of his series getting overshadowed by other Namco properties, but never move set.

Being an horrible person doesn't remove the credibility of their deconfirmation either.
Both Sabi and Vergeben had stories of saying dumb **** at time, whenever it's Vergeben with a certain R word or Sabi.
But bad behavior, doesn't mean that the information they give is false, that's sadly not how the world work

More seriously though it does seem like a bit more difficult of a moveset to incorporate into Super Smash Bros. since he has so many attacks (seriously, a video showing his special moves goes on for 10 whole minutes) and a lot of them seem to have a motion which would screw over anyone who wanted to use tap jump.

As much as I want to believe the second Cat Leak post, we have very historical proof to doubt it:

It's 4chan. Anyone could have made that post. The time before the first and second post were months apart, so someone could have seen the first post and replicated it to troll. As a result, Cat Leak adds nothing and should be rejected in any serious speculation.

KOS-MOS's big roadblock was Lloyd, and now he's deconfirmed.

Phoenix's big roadblocks were Dante and Resident Evil, and both have been deconfirmed.

This speculation scene's gettin' crazy.

Actualy it’s not just lloyd she still has heihachi agumon chosen undead So she still has a lot to go through and agumon would likley be the one

With all of the options killed off, Papa has to look at Kosmos again. She’s the only one with legs to stand on. If Kosmos is confirmed, Reimu and Ryu will be fun editions to the roster.

...dammit, my hope for Phoenix is rising. I know people are turning their attention to KOS-MOS because of the "drunk cat leak" and the whole deal with Milk-Bosatu, and she would definetly be a good pick, especially since having no female character in the FP will invetably give a bad look.
It could also be Reimu considereing that the Doujin leak is still alive...I guess for this one you have to be on the side of "Milk-bosatu is the new loz18" though

I think it's entirely reasonable to call the most notable character from one of the most recent games when everything before his game is super obscure.

I absolutely hate bringing up the sales argument, especially to make it seem like I'm looking down on Xenoblade (I like all of the Xeno titles) but I seriously need to mention both of Shulk's games (Wii and 3DS) failed to outsell Xenosaga I, and Xenogears too for that matter.

There's also the Japanese fanbase which seems to disagree, if their popularity as guest characters in Xenoblade 2 is any indication:

It's a Schrodinger's cat situation. We have just as much information to say it's real as we do that it's fake.

I personally don't lean one way or the other on that leak other than the fact that it does line up with things that came after that would have been considered asinine at the time (which also seem to coincide with my overall thoughts for FP5). With the lack of proof or evidence, I cannot take a stance on it. It exists in a state of purgatory. I don't think it's fake, but I also don't think it's real.

I'm legitimately starting to believe in Phoenix's chances, but at the same time, I kinda don't want to. I had a lot of hope for Ashley pre-release, and that turned out really well for me.

I know the end of the Fighter's Pass isn't the end of the DLC, but if Phoenix isn't FP5, suddenly all his competitors for the Capcom slot come rushin' back, and I dunno if I can handle that.

It's not that it's fake or real. It's that it's unproductive to even humor. You're right. There is literally no evidence that can prove its ground. It's not like Vergeben who has a sound record of guessing fighters. As a result, it's shouldn't be taken seriously even among the deconfirmations. Who does Namco have left?

I majorly dissagree with this statement. They disconfirmed so many characters/series that I can’t keep in track of it. It also increases the chances of characters like KosMos and Phoenix Wright. You can get irritated over leaks, but don’t you dare say it doesn’t mean anything.

Verg and Sabi are secondary sources. They get stuff from people in the industry, and they very well may have some of the same sources. Typically, if either of them know it, then other people know as well.

Back before Box Leak era, I knew it was over with just Ken and Incineroar. This was something effectively clarified for me and others in the group I was a part of. This group included other people on this very site, sometimes in this very thread.

Things Verg commented on were typically known by many in the “insiders” group. It’s not as if he’s the only one with information.

To further clarify, the reason why characters can be disconfirmed is because it’s fundamentally different: they aren’t sayOmg who is actually in, and therefore could be seen as literally basically any other fan making predictions. Sure, it boils things down for us. But they aren’t saying who we’re getting outright.

To be fair though, Sabi is absolutely an attention seeker. If you build your rep on leaks and having information, you want to be the first with the information. If you don’t have it, you have to fish for it or make something up. The former is safer than the latter and still makes it seem like you know something. He constantly reports on stuff whereas Verg only sometimes does.

If you ask me, it’s more likely that nobody SECONDARY to the situation knows the pick. Verg and Sabi, as secondaries, are asking to try and narrow things down.

They probably can’t, and won’t get more information until we’re closer to the reveal itself. They’ve played it perfectly, giving us information and maintaining attention on them.

(EDIT: The Sabi C&D is hilariously fake at this point considering he STILL publicly talks about leaks lmao)

Is the C&D really fake? Iirc, there were a bunch of people from places such as Source Gaming (Spazzy was one, iirc) that said it was real. Would they have any real reason to lie about it being real or not?
