But we already have Zangief in the game.Haggar time, baby!
Honestly, I was kind of getting some sick pleasure out of watching beloved characters and series get deconfirmed left and right. Guess we have to rely on just Vergeben (and Nintendo if they pull a RE again) for that now. Yanno, unless Verge also decides it's time to stop. There was a problem fetching the tweet
Sabi's done killing for now.
Its a text leak, its neither dead or alive until its confirmed or debunked. No it’s not

Source for the Sora deconfirm? I support him, but if he's not getting in I'd like to know now instead of two weeks from now. Also sora, and any company that’s been in the fighters pass like Sega, Square Enix, Microsoft, and SNK
First-party characters. So let's see who could be left...
Phoenix Wright is still in the running, even after a fake leak
Katalina from Granblue Fantasy was a rumor that never quiet came home to roost
Doomguy isn't in there but Bethesda's other properties could such as Fallout or Elder Scrolls
Square could possibly get a second fighter but I don't see it as likley. Sora however has his copyright under the banner of the Mouse
Namco still has those unreleased Mii costumes so I'm thinking a BN character can still be possible. Feeling KOS_MOS the most of them
Minecraft content was apparently in the works for Smash U at least at one point.
Any I missed?
It's amazing how this list really doesn't narrow down who FP 5 is.Updated FP #5 deconfirmation list:

He was included in a King of Fighters mobile game as part of a Tekken crossover, so Namco-Bandai seems to have no problem with reusing voice clips, at the very least.I doubt Heihachi purely on the fact that his Japanese voice actor passed away last year. They retired the character in Tekken because of it and I can see it being a similar case with Smash unless they want to re-use old voice clips.
Fully possible, though I wonder if they'll do another Fire Emblem character.First-party characters.
Industry juggernauts like Terry right?Acknowledging a company != hinting the next fighter.
I feel like KOS-MOS is in a similar spot as characters like Amaterasu; She has her merits but there's now way she's getting in over industry juggernauts/characters that are on people's radars beyond the core Smash fanbase.
Compared to Xenosaga? Yeah.Industry juggernauts like Terry right?
KOS-MOS was front and center for the Monolith Soft 20th anniversary this year. I think it is time people start acknowledging that she isn't just Xenosaga. She's the face of Xeno and Namco's crossover queen.Compared to Xenosaga? Yeah.
You're likely looking at the latter, honestly. The fact that they are tight lipped likely means it's a character that absolutely very few people know about. Implying that it's a small team or company that control the character.Whoever this character has to go one or two ways: this is a big character, and if leakers do know who it is just aren't comfortable with saying a name, and waiting for the reveal. or this is an out there character that no one would've guessed that even the most reliable leakers wouldn't be believed.
Seeing KOS-MOS just as a Bandai Namco rep is only seeing one side of things.
KOS-MOS is important to Monolith Soft and the company is now with Nintendo. They managed to make Nintendo brand modern JRPG which Iwata always wanted and were involved with Nintendo's recent big titles too like Splatoon, BotW, and of course Smash Ultimate. Monolith is important to Nintendo.
Yes, KOS-MOS's right belongs to Bandai Namco and she is not that important character compared to Heihachi or Agumon. But Bandai Namco is not the one deciding the DLC lineup. It's Nintendo. I can totally understand the timeline they go with KOS-MOS instead of other Bamco titans.
Is choosing KOS-MOS over Heihachi a disgrace to Bamco? I don't think so. Business is a business. They still get money. Bandai Namco still gets a slot.
Banjo over Master Chief didn't make MS mad. I'm sure people here gone crazy if Geno was chosen over Hero despite that's an underdog win objectively speaking. And I don't think that made SE salty.
DLC so far has similarities. Joker, he is not a Nintendo boy by any means but SMT has close tie with Nintendo. Hero, the early days of DQ were always with Nintendo. Banjo, even Nintendo said welcome back to them. Terry, he doesn't really has close relation with Nintendo but SNK games had huge influence to Smash itself.
They are coming from out of nowhere at a glance, but they are all somehow related to Nintendo or Smash beneath the surface. I think KOS-MOS fits into this category as well. I wcouldn't say she's likely, but I wouldn't totally count her out.
I just don't understand why people keep forcing themselves so hard to try forgetting this.
Fans are important but they already have purchased switch and smash so are not the main target audience anymore.
YouTube reactions don't bring money directly to Nintendo you know.

Q13:
I'd like to hear about the future of your big hit titles released during October to December last year. The initial response was extremely strong, but will that be met with a drop in sales momentum? Or will the strength of that initial momentum on release help download sales and purchases based on word-of-mouth to grow, resulting in a net positive effect on future sales?
A13:
Satoru Shibata (Director, Senior Executive Officer): We feel very fortunate that the initial sales pace for Super Mario Party, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!,and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been so strong. However, that doesn't exactly mean we're satisfied. Before their release, we challenged ourselves to see how we could expand our consumer base with each of these titles. For Super Mario Party, the question was “How could we reach people other than children and parents?” With Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!/Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, we asked “How could we reach people who had played Pokémon GO, for example, but never played Nintendo Switch?” With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, we asked “How could we reach not only fans of the Super SmashBros. series, but also those who had never played it before?” If you look at the demographics of the consumers who purchased each of these titles, Iʼm not convinced weʼve completely overcome these challenges yet. So our aims are to keep working on them this year, to expand sales of these titles to new consumer demographics, and to keep selling these games for a long time, which is one of our strengths.
So what you're saying is the cat leak belongs to Schrodinger? Its a text leak, its neither dead or alive until its confirmed or debunked.
Shulk is the face of Xeno. And the only Namco crossover that even reached my radar is Project X Zone.KOS-MOS was front and center for the Monolith Soft 20th anniversary this year. I think it is time people start acknowledging that she isn't just Xenosaga. She's the face of Xeno and Namco's crossover queen.
I think he's just basing this off one of the people who works on the KH games said "No but it would be awesome if he was."Source for the Sora deconfirm? I support him, but if he's not getting in I'd like to know now instead of two weeks from now.
Not only that, but there's also the possibility of recasting Heihachi with a different voice actor, like Banjō Ginga (his voice actor from the first Tekken game) or someone completely new (the first suggestion that comes to my mind being Norio Wakamoto). He was included in a King of Fighters mobile game as part of a Tekken crossover, so Namco-Bandai seems to have no problem with reusing voice clips, at the very least.
I’m gonna try talking to sabi about it if he can hear meIts a text leak, its neither dead or alive until its confirmed or debunked.
I've heard recasting a character with a new voice actor after the old one dies is considered disrespectful in Japan. Not only that, but there's also the possibility of recasting Heihachi with a different voice actor, like Banjō Ginga (his voice actor from the first Tekken game) or someone completely new (the first suggestion that comes to my mind being Norio Wakamoto).
Imagine calling Shulk the face of Xeno. YikesSo what you're saying is the cat leak belongs to Schrodinger?
Shulk is the face of Xeno. And the only Namco crossover that even reached my radar is Project X Zone.
Especially when Fiora got in PxZ before him.Imagine calling Shulk the face of Xeno. Yikes
That's not entirely untrue thanks to his appearances in Smash.Imagine calling Shulk the face of Xeno. Yikes
I think it's entirely reasonable to call the most notable character from one of the most recent games when everything before his game is super obscure.Imagine calling Shulk the face of Xeno. Yikes
And Xenosaga, and great as the games were, was also not very successful commercially and fell into obscurity. As much as Namco might like to put her in crossovers, KOS-MOS has zero claim to fame as a gaming icon. It's not Namco or Monolith Soft who's picking characters, it's Nintendo (who's looking for series and characters that are bound to do good business-wise) and Sakurai (who wants to make Smash a pantheon of the games that made history).KOS-MOS was front and center for the Monolith Soft 20th anniversary this year. I think it is time people start acknowledging that she isn't just Xenosaga. She's the face of Xeno and Namco's crossover queen.
No it just shows how poor researched you are on the Xeno franchise. I'm sorry but Shulk got in smash because of promotion for Xenoblade. If KOS-MOS was on a main console Nintendo game I guarantee you she would have been in a long time ago. Your point is moot.I think it's entirely reasonable to call the most notable character from one of the most recent games when everything before his game is super obscure.
Pretty sure Sora's owned by Disney iircAlso sora, and any company that’s been in the fighters pass like Sega, Square Enix, Microsoft, and SNK
Makes me think it might be someone who is off the radar. Lloyd was one of the bigger frontrunners for this spot so his deconfirmation makes things more interesting. It's amazing how this list really doesn't narrow down who FP 5 is.
But she wasn't. And she isn't.No it just shows how poor researched you are on the Xeno franchise. I'm sorry but Shulk got in smash because of promotion for Xenoblade. If KOS-MOS was on a main console Nintendo game I guarantee you she would have been in a long time ago. Your point is moot.
>Sora survived the Killing spree even though he's one of the most popular characters
>But it's because no one think he's possible, so there no need to asks for a deconfirm
>Or actually it's because the Source can't say it's name because there a Mickey Mouse Sith and a Nintendo Yakuza behind them, ready to strike the moment they leak Sora
>But actually it's really nothing
No seriously,
-Crash Bandicoot
-Doom Slayer from Doom
-Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden
-Tracer from Overwatch
-Scorpion from Mortal Kombat
-Dante from Devil May Cry
-Geno from Super Mario RPG
-Any Resident Evil character
-Any character from Ubisoft
-Any character from Falcom
-Any character from Nippon Ichi Software
-Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia
Who the hell it is?
WHO?
ALL AND EVERY SINGLE ONE FRONTRUNNERS GOT SHOT DOWN
Phoenix Time.
Bethesda is pretty much out of the FP5 race at those point. Sabi said that if the mii costumes are real they have nothing to do with FP5, and Cacodemon would be related to Dragonborn since it’s from a series from the same parent company. So I'mma say that the Dragonborn is looking most likely to me at the minute.
At least if we start thinking that and Sabi looks into it it'll leak pretty fast. Bethesda is a watertight as a rowboat with termites these days.
