tbh I'm more excited in Half-Life: Alyx than a potential Smash direct. I've been waiting 12 years for a new Half-Life game and if this game really is gonna push VR gaming forward into the light then I might actually get a VR headset. I'd kill to relive the modding gold rush era when Half-Life 1 & 2 came out but for VR.

November 21st is Nintendo’s big day to announce stuff, the blip on the smash channel is reaching its unproven and most likely invalid “expiration date,” and APPARENTLY coming soon text was removed from the fighters pass page though we have yet to see proof of that text existing to begin with.

No, accepting reality looks more like not constantly repeating the same pessimistic rants over and over.

Accepting reality looks like not telling everyone who is hopeful about a character to "stop jumping to conclusions".

Accepting reality looks like just seeing what character gets in and deciding whether you like them or not, even if it doesn't match what you wanted.

And most of all, accepting reality looks like not threatening to do something harmful to yourself or others if you don't get what you want.

Apparently someone thought that a "Coming Soon" subtitle for FP5 listed on the FP character chart was removed recently, when in reality there was no subtitle on FP5 listed to begin with. Wayback Machine shows no such text was deleted.

I remember back during the lead-up to E3 2018, there were "leaks" going around saying that the then-unannounced Devil May Cry V was going to be revealed at Sony's conference. While watching Microsoft's E3 conference and chatting on another forum, I jokingly made a prediction along the lines of "Wouldn't it be funny if DMC5 was revealed at Microsoft's conference instead?" Not even 10 minutes after saying that, DMC5 was revealed at Microsoft's conference instead.

... by the way, wouldn't it be funny if Dante was revealed to be Fighter 5 tomorrow?

I think that FP5 will be announced at the Game Awards. The only reason I can see FP5 being announced beforehand is if they instead want to showcase the first post-pass fighter at the Game Awards instead.

I don't remember seeing a coming soon on the fighter pass page either.

Picking up and throwing things isn’t exactly the most exciting ability. And HL2’s movement is so slow and boring (batting patched out exploits) that it seems like an even worse fit for Smash.

I would be very surprised if we ended up getting a major Nintendo Direct announcement either today (since it's the 21st over in Japan and Australia's time zones) or tomorrow. I don't think it's likely, but it could possibly happen. I'm not sure what they could possibly include for major Direct-worthy news in the month we have Terry's launch and SwSh's release.

I see Gordon Freeman as a character with a very, very small chance to be FP #5 considering that the Half Life series has never been on a Nintendo system before. However, he's a nice curveball pick because Sakurai does like to reveal unexpected characters. I mean, very few expected Cloud and Joker to join Smash.

As for the LaxChris video on Gordon Freeman... yeah I wouldn't put too much stock on unverifiable Discord posts (especially ones covered on his video), since people can say anything. Just because Half Life Alyx (which was mentioned in a Discord post before the announcement) was announced doesn't mean that Gordon's coming as #5. Take those stuff with a big grain of salt. Speaking of, take any "leak" with a big grain of salt.

As for the "Coming Soon" for FP #5, there wasn't a subtitle for that if I remember correctly. I know we're dying to know who FP #5 is, but let's just be patient and wait until something comes out.

The only person I'll probably trust regarding Valve related leaks is VNN. The dude was saying Half-Life VR was a thing since 2016 and no one believed him. If anyone knows anything planned in that company it's probably him.

I just hope FP5 gets revealed in an anniversary special video a week before the Game Awards or at the very least an announcement of when the next reveal will happen tomorrow after that Famitsu tourney thing despite how unlikely it is. If a reveal is indeed happening at the Game Awards, the only character I think would be great to reveal there would be Geralt. Series based on the novels be damned, that'd be an even bigger bombshell than Joker if you ask me.
