Porky would be a cool playable character in his spider mech, I don't understand why people suggest Ryu Hayabusa as a playable character though.

Even so, Porky and his spider mech look like their only chances are as a boss. Ridley can easily be made playable, since he doesn't rely of robots to get around.

Is there a problem with relying on machines? It would make for a very interesting dynamic.

As for the character additions, maybe replace Pichu with a Gen 4 or 5 (like Emolga or Pahiraisu...squirrels)

Maybe just downsizing Porky's mech, not Porky himself. IMO He still looks like a boss character because if you downsize the mech it wouldn't look as intimidating for the character.

Ryu Hayabusa has a good history with Nintendo, has three games coming out on the 3DS and Wii-U, Metroid: Other M was made by Tecmo, Dead or Alive: Dimensions has a cameo in a stage where Samus and Ridley right (neither are playable in this game), and from what I've seen, would have a large move set potentials that only he can utilize.
