It's weird. YOU PEOPLE are like the best players at Smash, and yet you have no idea how to play it right.

Isn't this the thing you fight wars over. People falling on both sides, yet all are chanting "We love Smash! We love Smash!"

Funny how it takes less blood to write "I was right" than "I lost."

Just reread the Alabasta arc.

Well, Zelda Williams herself is a huge supporter of Operation: Moonfall, and given that she herself said Majora's Mask is her favorite Zelda game, I would imagine that fact alone will have some significant impact on Nintendo opting for a 3DS port of MM with updated visuals.
We all know Nintendo is a big fan of Robin Williams.

Was thinking of new item ideas for SSB4 that we could have the pleasure of turning off so we can play with no items and be cool kids.

-Squirrel Mushroom from NSMBU that gives you the ability to glide
-Whip from Skyward Sword that works like.. well, a whip. And the Gust Jar.
-Ultra Sword from Kirby's Return to Dreamland that is a single giant swipe of power!~
-A giant boot from either the above game or a homage to Goomba's Shoe
-Minecart from the DKC games that when jumped in goes forward until it falls off the edge or hits a wall
-Medusa's Head, Centurion Shift, Shrink Bean, Icy Aura from Uprising
-Spring Mushroom from Super Mario Galaxy
-Various potions from the Legend of Zelda (perhaps one with a fairy , the magic armor from Wind Waker
-Blue Shell from Mario Kart that explodes on whoever has the highest score in whatever mode
-POW Block from Mario
-Volt Shroom from Paper Mario

Don't feel like thinking of any more at the moment, but yeah. :D Just wanted to contribute since I haven't today.

That's because there is no "right" or "wrong" way to play a video game.

Back in the Melee days, you'd say "N o, your playing the wrong way scrub," and now when the topic is brought up you get defensive. You guys have gotten soft.

*shrugs.*

I think I've gotten smarter. Plus, I don't think I've ever advocated that the "competitive ruleset" established for Smash was the "right way." I've always maintained that I've preferred it, and I still do, but it's not the way to play Smash Bros.

'Course, I honestly don't remember. Lol. Don't really care, though, 'cause it has nothing to do with how I feel about it right now.

I think the biggest thing I'm vocal about is how whiny people can be, or how asinine their logic is when it comes to specific aspects of playing the game. I hate to bring this up again, but I still for the life of me cannot understand why in the hell somebody finds edgeguarding scrubby. It's part of the game, it's encouraged, and everyone can do it. Why the hell is it "cheap?" It's those sort of things that grab my goat. To each their own, though.

There really is no right or wrong way to play the game. Smash allows people to tailor the game to their desires. Even competitive players/TOs can't agree on stages and time limits from one region to the next where as casuals choose to omit certain items or stages from their sessions.

Guys you know who would be the best voice for Ganondorf ever. THIS GUY!!!
LMAO! Speaking of which, I actually beat my 1st playthru of the original Legend of Zelda without buying the arrow. No joke. I didn't use the bow until I got the silver arrow!
Hey, I'm just waiting to get my Wii back, and beat Skyward Sword. Then I'm getting and beating it. After that, I gotta beat NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wario Land: Shake It!, Donkey Kong Country Returns, No More Heroes 1 and 2, Pandora's Tower, MadWorld, The Last Story, etc. on the Wii. I also gotta plays tons of Project M and Melee dis sumah. :shades:

That is why I continue to preach smash should continue to be aimed at everyone. Literally it is everyone's game. It doesn't belong to a certain group like other games do.

As for your second sentence, mind clarifying? You kinda lost me. :embarrass:

That legacy would be the compelling factor for these titles, superseding whatever value these titles have individually.
[COLLAPSE="Significant Points Concerning this"]Yes, some people who supported and took an interest in Operation Rainfall were more concerned with getting games that Nintendo wouldn't localize simply because either they couldn't have them[/COLLAPSE]
I've got you.

Before I address this directly, I'd like to cover my point of entry to this discussion. Dealing with this new breed, our "practical" selection of candidates, much of the concern I've come to terms with ihas to do with how specific characters need to provide insight on wide range of appeal.

The Xenogears, Golden Sun, Sin and Punishment conversation is really all encompassing of the different bases (categories) to our lineup. For the most part, its pretty comical: No one has any chance and any chance had better be have some means for approval.

So without getting too technical, I'll suffice to reiterate what everyone's been saying: We don't have any shoe ins.

Saki is a Veteran, Isaac has a Voucher (2nd Party), Shulk merits good standing. Credibility and Credentials, when really all we're looking is for someone to do the job.

I fail to see the essence, the driving point in what makes a character "Nintendoey". I'd say there are a lot of points for contention, ways in which I feel we often confuse the reality of the matter, but I've already belated my focus (much to everyone's surprise)
.

When I brought up the Legacy that Operation Rainfall left behind, I was hinting towards the prospects that belong to the video game market. Last year, when this Project came to my attention, it was apparent to me that we would certainly have these games by demand, but not by fan demand.

What does that mean? Don't worry, like I said I got you.

So you have a Wii and you've been exposed to the familiar trends that the Wii had introduced {To name a few: motion controls, family focused genres, hardware specific offerings, and of course your stellar First Party adaptations.} After the second or third round of release windows following those fun (promising) E3 conventions, that library is looking more and more, well... pattern-ized

Fast forward to Operation Rainfall Uprising.
I imagine that the main enthusiasts behind Operation Rainfall had been fervently researching Nintendo's recent happenings. By this point in the game, they too were probably feeling the sting of boredom. So much to get creative in order to compel others who would be just as eager to share in the next level up for what the Wii console has to offer.

I don't know exactly how it all went down. Try not to mind my review and think about the nature of these gamers. They sound a lot like consumers in that they are interested in finding utility in a given experience. I probably wouldn't go as far as to label these people Hardcore so much as they might be thrill seekers going about their Journeyman's venture for different titles.

So I still haven't touched on what matter of Legacy I was referring to in my opening, but hopefully this gives a good idea as to where I am going. Lets get tricky with it then, based on what I've mentioned, what did you think about Operation Rainfall's legacy?

Is there any wonder to how the Project has been received from Nintendo's perspective? In what ways might the achievements of Operation Rainfall be charted among as a benchmark for regional demand?
For those of you who went tl;dr all the way, how much of this sounds like a certain schoolwork assignment?

I think viral campaigns is the way to go. That is ultimately the legacy of Operation Rainfall, along with (I think) opening the door for further localization of Japan-only games, specifically RPGs. I also think this tool and new recent movement Nintendo has will help promote their lesser known quality IPs, specifically RPGs. It also keeps the fans passionate.
Wario has herculean strength that Waluigi lacks and well as a rotund belly and girth that he likes to throw around, and conversely, Waluigi has freakishly long legs that Wario doesn't have.
Then make Waluigi use about half of the same moves, but have those moves work completely differently. Instead of making everything "strong," make it weak and make it easy to start combos for Waluigi. It really is that simple. For moves Wario uses that Waluigi can, change those entirely or partially. Make Waluigi bite you in the a**, instead of eat you. :rotfl:
Wario's moveset comes from WarioWare. If Wario had a Wario Land inspired moveset instead, then it can be easier to visualize Waluigi copying him.
Then don't copy the movement. Or, slow it down. Or, better yet, be lazy and copy Waluigi's movement right off of Brawl!
And what about a Final Smash, "Waluigi-Man"?
Well, just give Waluigi an Arwing. :troll:
Or be lazy and make his Assist Trophy character appearance (with invincibility) Waluigi's Final Smash.

I had that same idea about the Blue shell....Also they need to bring back the red shell

-Flipper from Melee
-Motion sensor from Melee....seemed more useful in that game.

That goes without saying. It's pretty much guaranteed that online will be greatly improved, but probably not perfect. There is no such thing as perfect after all.
No offense, but I always find it weird when people say stuff like the bolded, considering the context of the discussion at hand. Like, what they're saying is true and all, but it kinda makes it seems like they're just going off on a tangent by saying something that runs a lot deeper than what they're actually talking about

He was holding the bananas because the last thing playing before it went to him was the Donkey Kong Nintendo Land minigame.

H-have you even PLAYED as Wario? If you have, you'd realize how making Waluigi even a semi-clone wouldn't make any sense.

At the very worst, Waluigi could end up being another semi-clone of Mario, like Luigi. Just replace fireballs with tennis balls, give him a unique Side Special and Down Special (like Luigi), and make his Jump Punch work a little different (like maybe, he kicks his legs as if he was swimming to give him a bigger boost). Oh, and unique Final Smash and have some moves work differently, like Side Smash, Dash Attack, etc.

and he can have bombs for his down special... they were his signature weapon in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

the tennis ball would be a Serving shot... you time it right and it will be Strong... while in the air, though it changes to just the racket swing... no ball. So, you can serve your ball, cancel to jump and swing with a Power Serve.

Side Special? uhhhh..... he chucks things... :troll: like LeiLei (Hisen-Ko)

QUESTION: when playing smash bros... and you grab an opponent... what happens if you press B? does it do anything? does it attack? if it's the same thing like A, i vote that pressing B should do a special kind of buffer attack... Bowser would be able to toast enemies point blank.
luigi should use the ThunderHand... damn it luigi, if you learned it, why aren't you using it?

Imo Waluigi should be a sort of Luigified Luigi. With maybe a unique B attack as the Tennis Ball. Down B = Whirl-luigi, side B is Waluigi Swim. But I think he's boring anyway and not worthy so keep him out and add a REAL Wario character or Mario character please.

a clone of anything must use the same base as it's original.
Ganondorf and Captain falcon in melee... obvious stance is obvious...

Waluigi cannot and should not be a clone of anyone in smash brothers... including Luigi and Wario.

where's that warped picture of Pikachu in someone elses body? i need that to demonstrate the reversal effect this would have on waluigi.

To be fair, Waluigi could easily take Ganondorf's moveset and still be somewhat logical.

Other than Final Smash, obviously.

It's like I can see a train wreck coming, but nobody will listen.

Prepare yourselves. Waluigi might as well already be upon us.

:phone:
Nah, as even the biggest Waluigi supporter here, moi, sees that Waluigi has limited chance, given what Sakurai said about Wario. Wario.
