Brawl's was 2D? Looks more like pseudo-CG art to me. I want a boxart kind of like 64 and Melee's. I remember one idea I had for the Brawl boxart was everyone going after the Smash ball, and I think someone actually drew a picture like that. Basically, I would like to see a giant free for all for the next box art. Question is how do you go about doing it without making it look so busy. I mean, look at the Japanese boxarts for SSF4AE.
SSF4AE This isn't the exact box art, but it was pretty much this. The American version had considerably way less characters on its boxart.

The Japanese MvC3 boxarts had the right idea, and so did the Japanese Melee one.

But seriously, you make a good point. Avoiding being busy is very important and it will be harder with over 40 characters in the game. Your right, in that Marvel vs Capcom 3 had the right idea. I still say it could be toned down, but it did combine Brawl's placement with general fighting.

I'd argue that this thread has already been ruined for quite a while. But I do agree, roleplaying is creepy...

Ohh hell no. Y'all would main Impa and Anthony.

I'm actually dead serious. Impa >>> Sheik. I'm just at a loss how you guys fail to see it. :/ There was nothing to base Sheik off from, there's just about everything to base Impa of from.

And Anthony would be the biggest baddest best WTF-addition ever. Imagine him to Zero Suit Samus as Wolf is to Fox. But he'd be more unique in his specials, and less unique in other attacks (some kicks are punches or smacks with his gun instead of attacks with the whip).

Only better additions I can think of are King K.Rool, Dixie, Isaac, Chrome, Little Mac, Ridley, Medusa (not Palutena lol), and Zoroark. And Mewtwo if you count him. All other characters are imo just picked cause of personal flavor. Impa and Anthony would be BAWSSS to have in Smash.

Hey, I like Anthony too...

But I don't necessarily agree that he's the next best choice after Ridley. I mean, I would pick him, but that's just because I like him. As much as I dislike it, Dark Samus has a decent shot as well, and, to a lesser extent, the hunters (both from the DS game and Samus's allies from Corruption).

When it comes to the bounty hunters, I'd take Rundas, Ghor, or Gandrayda over the DS ones. I just like the ones from Corruption more. But Dark Samus should just go away. She had a big role in the Prime Trilogy, but she's just bleh to me. She's only slightly more badass than SA-X. SA-X at least scared the living poo out of me when I saw it, but that was mostly due to how helpless you are in Fusion.

The Hunters have the disadvantage of all being togheter, why would they pick one of them? Dark Samus would maybe be too similar to Samus still? I heard someone admit that a few days back. I'd myself rather have a ZSS-like character than a Samus-like character. I want Samus herself to be as unique and well represented as possible. Besides, Dark Samus is now a 'dead character' mostly no? She might've played a role in the 2 last Prime games, but her role is mostly over for future Metroid games. Anthony's role is just beginning (I think the same of SS-styled Impa, to a'much bigger extend). I think we'll hear more of him in the future, thus I think the Metroid team would suggest him. Besides: they could've picked Dark Samus for Brawl, but ZSS got in.

Can someone settle something for me:

In terms of roster talk, should Roy and Mewtwo be considered "newcomers?" I've seen this debated elsewhere, and I want to lean toward them not being labeled newcomers. I mean, obviously they're not entirely new to the games, but they'd be returning after a hiatus. It doesn't matter a whole awful lot, but for the sake of number-crunching and list-making, I'd like to see what others think.

Newcomers cannot be normally playable beforehand.(Giga Bowser is somewhat of a newcomer in Brawl, albeit, just a transformation, but you need to play him differently) Same with King Dedede who had stage appearances, etc.

Roy is more suitable for an unlockable. The only reason why I think Roy should even be considered for being a starter would be if FE6 were getting a remake and the remake ends up being released before Smash 4 gets released.

However, I think Mewtwo works well for both a starter and an unlockable. I think Mewtwo would make a great starter because he is one of the most wanted characters for Smash 4 all over the world, he would get both the Japanese and Western Smash Bros. fanbases hyped.

It would hype up people who were disappointed that the two weren't in Brawl (i.e. everyone ever in the history of time). Impa and Sheik can both be in I feel, but I just don't want Sheik coupled with Zelda anymore, only if they'll have duo attacks (think PT's Final Smash as an example) I want them to be coupled (speaking of Zelda with IMPA). And seeing as I don't want a separate Zelda, Impa and then again Sheik, I just don't see the use for Sheik. Amongst things... You know my statement on the rest.

Anthony Higgs is more of a joke I actually like, and he's closest to an actual supporting character to Samus. I want his character to develop, and Smash would boost his popularity. But I do think he'd make a better second Metroid newcomer than others, cause he could fit in well with a half clone ZSS moveset, but with B moves of his own mostly.

1. I'm talking about Fake Kraid, you know, the SMALLER Kraid? With real Kraid as a Final Smash.

2. Kraid was actually the biggest he ever was in Melee, ironically.

3. I'm not being serious about Fake Kraid, but if you start to "female strumpet" out Anthony and make me not like him, I'll "female strumpet" out Fake Kraid.

I don't think Smash has ever been brought up by him or anyone. To be fair, he only started leaking stuff when SSF4 was in the works back in fall of 2009, a year and a half after Brawl came out. Time will tell if he'll leak anything.

Though, even if he does have insider information, he may keep quiet just because of the constant spamming about whether or not this or that character is playable. Seriously, I don't think I've seen it this bad outside of Smash. Even Street Fighter X Tekken with the Poison and Karin demand was mild at worst in comparison to the stuff I see here.

Personally, if I were to leak stuff out (and I probably wouldn't anyway), I'd keep it where it looks like I'm calling everything right in my speculation or ideas. Maybe I'm doing that now.

Either way, I don't think I'll be looking at the full roster before I unlock it myself. Did that with Brawl, and it kinda made unlocking everything less exciting. I'll follow rumors, though. Like how Lucario was accidentally leaked through that trailer showcasing the sticker stuff.

I personally don't care for spoilers. I purposely made sure I knew who was in Brawl before I got it.

I might possibly keep the spoilers to a minimum this time, just to see what true, unadulterated hype is like.

EDIT: But of course I only mean the "hidden" things that get leaked, not things revealed on the Dojo prior to the time of the "hidden" updates.

I was one of the 4 little children in the world to actually know who every single character that was in Melee before I got the game, and I also knew all of the characters that were in Brawl before I got it, AND the whole entire MK9 game got spoiled for me last year, so I don't really care about being spoiled since I'm used to it
