I wonder what they will do for Story Mode this time around? I loved the SSE, just because it was the first "real" story mode. But yes, it could use improvement. Personally, I would love to see a "Council of Nintendo Villains" or something like that. Similar to the Final Fantasy villains in Dissidia, the Disney villains in Kingdom Hearts, or the multitude of Villain groups form Marvel and DC comics.Hmmm... If I'm being greedy with my bosses, I'd put it in that category. There would have to be some really clever way to beat him, just like in Pikmin.
I suppose it really depends on the scope of the Story Mode this time around. Myself, I'd like to see a huge, mind-blowingly long and complex story mode (SSE was nice, but had a lot of room for improvement), and I don't think it's too unrealistic to think that we could get one. If that's the case, then maybe Waterwraith as a kind of mini/midlevel boss?
Perhaps a stage hazard, too. One of my Pikmin stage concepts is a Castle Siege-esque trip down several underground levels (a-la Pikmin 2), where the floor falls out from under the players until they reach the bottom, then the geyser takes them back to the top. The Waterwraith would be an excellent stage hazard for that concept.
He needs to get a cameo in some way shape or form, other than a regular ol' trophy. Dat cry...
I like that point.PT's actor is trash? Then he must be Ash, not Red.
a new voice actor? thats easy..@HF: That's an actual good point. I honestly don't think Alts will happen outside of Wario, but that's a good counter point if they do.
As a side note, I'd like for PT (whatever his name is) to get a different voice actor.
EDIT: Unless they pull a UMvC3. Thank god Sakurai isn't a troll like Capcom is.
Thank you, thank you.I like that point.
maybe a narration from the announcer? :oOn a side note, I wonder if we will ever get dialogue? Aside from Snake.
Nah, we don't want Smash to turn weird like Soul Calibur.maybe a narration from the announcer? :o
Mewtwo and Jigglypuff use 2nd Gen moves. I guess they're 2nd Gen reps.Thank you, thank you.
@GY: My problem with that is that PT's Pokemon use non-1st Gen moves. Which makes me believe he's at best a 3rd Gen Trainer using 1st Gen POKEMON, but not their moves.
Why no meter in Smash 4?Maybe the Nintendo characters will get meters when they release Capcom vs Nintendo. But no X-Factor. And definitley no Pandora Mode! Gems however...
i suppose, unreal tournament though....Nah, we don't want Smash to turn weird like Soul Calibur.
Mewtwo didn't use that till Second Gen was out. Also, he's a DIRECT 1st Gen Pokemon.Mewtwo and Jigglypuff use 2nd Gen moves. I guess they're 2nd Gen reps.
I think the third game of the set is usually considered the canon. It's why Red has all three starters, too.and i found it odd that he had a lvl 81 pikachu, which is usually seen as his strongest pokemon (or at least then one that WOULD have the highest level.)
Except Yellow. It wasn't based directly upon Red/Blue/Green, just the Anime itself.I think the third game of the set is usually considered the canon. It's why Red has all three starters, too.
The Impa stuff was usually one type of stupidity. Pokemon discussion is worse because it goes into several different types of stupidity. I'd rather have a single stupid discussion than multiple ones relating to the same subject. Both are stupid, though, in that people are so concerned about the characters and not how they play. I know it's an easier discussion, but I see a lot of derp and not enough intellectual challenge, the main reason why I love gameplay discussions.@Kuma: Sure I'm for it. I've had my fill of Pokemon for a while.
But worse than the Impa stuff? Not even close.
The fact you didn't tell I was being sarcastic when I said that they must be 2nd Gen reps for having 2nd Gen moves is just plain stupid.I swear, the Pokemon discussion is worse than the Impa discussion, ESPECIALLY when we get to representation. The fact that I see Mewtwo and Jigglypuff being considered 2nd gen reps because they have a 2nd gen move or two is when things are just plain stupid.
I vote for one week of no Pokemon discussion.
Starphoenix?I vote for one week of you having better reading comprehension.
That reminds me, mechanics discussion doesn't make this thread any less crappy, it just makes it more boring crap.I also vote for one week of no gameplay mechanics discussion, as THAT leads to opening another can of stupidity. Especially when the gameplay mechanics discussion ALWAYS lead to examples from Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Tekken, and the like.
This isn't so much speculation for what I'm suggesting, but more for the benefit of the posters in this thread. It's all subjective. I like Pokemon, but hate Zelda. So for me, Impa is much worse.
But since you're leading this protest on Pokemon talk, I'm guessing you have another topic in mind to you'd like to discuss?

This. Let's talk about something interesting, like new stage gimmicks that would be chaotic and clearly banned from tournaments. That reminds me, mechanics discussion doesn't make this thread any less crappy, it just makes it more boring crap.
Oh yeah, I forgot, I'm not a fan of chain grabs. Now, if you could turn that into tech chasing then you'd be on to something.EDIT:@Kuma: I'm pretty sure I had at least one chain grab. I'll have to take another look.
It's funny, but we never seem to talk about Ridley very much anymore. Maybe it's because we all just expect him so much? I'd be down for it.Let's replace all weeks with Ridley praise weeks.
Remember, feel free to ask me any time.@Kuma: I looked, the F-Throw I had was a chain grab.
EDIT: @Kuma2: Okay, I'll have to take a look into that stuff sometime. I'm not the most competitive player out there so I don't know too much about advanced tech.
I may be mixing up some of the attacks I came up for her so I'm not sure exactly which move you mean (N-Special or D-Special?), but I have been putting some thought into some more nerfs.Remember, feel free to ask me any time.
Hey, did you ever think of anything to fix up Palutena's Orbs move? If not since the last discussion, might I suggest a 15 second time restriction between the disappearance of the last orb and the new set?
Big Blue at higher speeds, no vehicles, only platforms, the road is a purplish rainbow, you're in space, and the theme is casino-ish.This. Let's talk about something interesting, like new stage gimmicks that would be chaotic and clearly banned from tournaments.
How about something like Brinstar Depths, but more extreme?
Final Frustration, anyone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuZm7Fz5QF8
Or maybe a new way to die other than a Ring-Out. SSE featured being crushed, so a Tetris stage like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukoMmTPHjlU&feature=related but with a feature that the blocks can crush you would be an interesting stage.

"cough...music...cough."If we keep banning topics for a week we won't have anything to discuss >_> Is there any universally appreciated topic?
