Honestly, the horrible Japanese and the timing of their releases are much bigger holes in these leaks than King Hippo and Prince Sable being playable. Honestly, remove those two and you have no real shock character, which seems to have become an obligatory staple of the franchise at this point.

Krystal is on it, so it could be real for all I care. It's fake anyways.

Since Kid Icarus is being released March, I wonder when Smash will start development? I would guess either a little before, or a little after the release month.

I thought Development was to start in October?
NO. That means we'd wait even more. The guess is they'll start in January/Febuary for a trailer or some sort of info. They won't actually WAIT for the release of the game

EDIT: Oh w8, nm I see what ur saying. FORGET ME.

Does anyone have a decent picture of Prince Sable and/or his source material? I'd be interested in seeing what he could bring to the table.

Prince Sable, I THINK has the ability to turn into a frog, as well as being a sword weilder. He might also be able to turn into a snake, I don't remember much about the game. It's JO though, so go figure.

I wonder though. If development begins in early February, then that would mean Sakurai's team would only have four months to get something ready for E3 2012. That is definitely not enough time to make the engine, especially for the Wii U. Our only chance of seeing "something" is if he decides simply to make a CGI trailer.

Well, I'm mostly hoping he might elaborate more on the Wii U version's interconnectivity with the 3DS version at E3 2012. Or at least SOME kind of update on the progress of the game. At this point, a CG reveal trailer would be icing on the cake for me...

Hmm...seems like a nice addition, considering his frogs give him potential, and he's both a Japanese-only and WTF character.

King Hippo doesn't seem as abstract as people are making him out to be either. He's certainly not likely in the slightest, but his inclusion would make -some- sense. He's the most iconic villain in a series famous for its wacky villains, one of whom may be fitting to pit against Little Mac in a Smash game.

@Pseudomaniac: I remember you. Alright, I'll give a shot at your roster. The Pokemon franchise will almost certainly get five slots. Mewtwo has plenty of reasons to come back. Possibly the most wanted character for SSB4, recently regained relevancy due to Nobunga x Pokemon, and remains one of the most important Pokemon to this date. Sakurai has also stated he loves all of his characters, so Lucario has a decent chance of returning as well since I assure you that Sakurai will try to bring back all Nintendo vets into the game. Pick between Mewtwo or Lucario to put in.Medusa is a good choice, but I think Palutena will get the second slot since she is more important to the series. Have Palutena take the second slot and decide whenever or not Kid Icarus warrants a second slot. The choices for a third FE rep is either Roy or Krom (if you haven't heard, he's the lord of FE13).Not seeing Shulk in this game. I doubt Sakurai is going to add a newcomer from a series with only one game. Drop him.
As I said in the comments, I believe there will be DLC in SSB4 and I think Lucario and Mewtwo would be good first offerings for that feature. Medusa is in because I've always believed that Smash needs more villains, and Palutena is already in Pit's Final Smash. I have doubts about Roy, but Krom sadly seems to be the obvious choice. I'd just rather personally see a non-Lord represent FE for once.

Not bad, a bit better. Too many randoms, there's better Square-Enix choices than a blob as is. Go for Slime Knight, Chocobo, Terra, tons of choices.
As I said in the comments, I prefer Black Mage or Cloud myself but Slime seems more popular (and Cloud has only cameo'd in a Nintendo game).

Also, I'm trying to build a stage roster as well and I need ideas for stages in these categories

*A Dragon Quest stage.
*An Earthbound stage.
*A Fire Emblem stage.
*A F-Zero stage for Black Shadow.
*An Ice Climbers stage.
*A stage from Kid Icarus: Uprising.
*A Starfy stage.
*A stage from the original Megaman.
*A Metal Gear Solid stage.
*A Punch-Out!! stage.
*A Sin & Punishment stage.
*A Star Fox stage that's not a clone of the 4 existing Star Fox stages.
*A stage from a Wario Land game.

Music for any of these would be appreciated as well.

I actually would have to go with BKupa666 here. While I don't think the franchise needs a second rep for SSB4, I do expect King Hippo to get a considerable amount of supporters if Little Mac is revealed early, which slowly builds up (if Punch-Out!! gets a new installment) until he becomes a highly requested character for SSB5.

Which is similar to K. Rool's case. Became a very popular request once Diddy Kong was revealed and now is among the most wanted newcomers for SSB4.

Development may have still started in October. Remember, the very reason why a new Smash game was even announced this year was to get people interested in applying for work. The Sora website even says that work would start in October. Even with Sakurai working on Uprising, I highly doubt that Sakurai would keep his employees in work limbo until Uprising is finished. That's just wrong in so many ways, especially in this economy.

I still think that Sakurai is gradually moving from Uprising to Sm4sh. Even amongst the delays, he shouldn't need to devote his entire attention to Uprising.

Well durr, we won't get any gameplay videos at E3, to go from reluctantly announcing a project that hadn't even started development then to having a gameplay trailer ready in only a years time is pretty unrealistic

I wouldn't mind a CG trailer, really. There wasn't all that much revealed from the gameplay segments of Brawl's first trailer if I remember correctly, while the CG bits still gave some cool insight, like Wario's Side and Down Specials, as well as Samus using a massive beam attack to transform into ZSS.

If I find out bomberman is in it though, I'm flipping the world and murdering anyone that stands in between me and smash4. Fools better watch out.

:phone:
I recently purchased Bomberman Hero on the VC and I forgot how much I loved him, he'd be pretty cool for Smash :awesome:

Glad to see people love Banjo Kazooie too :awesome::awesome::awesome::awesome:

I have to admit Prince Sable was a huge WTF character for me on that fake roster

The trailer idea I posted a week back got virtually no feedback. Nice to see we be cycling.

Cut vets should not be offered as DLC unless they were planned beforehand but did not have time to complete. There's no reason to force consumers to buy characters you can already play as in previous games when they expect them to be in the roster from the start. If they return, they should come with the roster, not as a way to get a few $$$ off of fans of said character. Nintendo has never been about nickle and diming consumers with DLC and they never will be. If there are DLC characters not planned to be in the game originally (which is not guarantee), they will be newcomers.

Move set changes have been done before and we should expect a few Final Smashes to change. Being part of Pit's Final Smash will not stop Palutena because Uprising will give Pit plenty of choose from for potential new moves and there is good chance he could get a new Final Smash as a result of it. This in return could result in Palutena becoming playable with her own move set and using her own variation of "Palutena's Army" as in Brawl.

Krom depends on how well he is received. If fans do not like Krom, I wouldn't expect him in. But we'll see on him.

I really want to see something new out of the Wii-U at E3 2012 and exciting titles. For one, I'd like to series that got skipped out of the Wii to make a return to console. Star Fox and F-zero are the two series I want to see back the most. Smash 4 official unveil would be awesome as well.

Some of my suggestions below lead to my stage concepts, or a couple others. They have plenty of music you can grab from.

Dragon Quest: Alefgard / Zenithia / Astortia
Dragon Quest III - Adventure

Earthbound: Saturn Valley / Magicant [Luco]
Fire Emblem: Dragon's Altar or Fire Emblem: Awakening stage
Starfy: Gluglug Lagoon or Pufftop Palace
Megaman: Robot Museum or Dr. Wily's Tower [look a couple of pages back for another Megaman stage concept by the user --- aka Tri-Hypen]
Punch Out!!: The Ring
Sin and Punishment: Urban Ruins
Metal Gear Solid: Outer Haven [Tri-Hy]

Wario Land and Ice Climber you are on your own. Star Fox will probably be a revamped Sector Z or Corneria as much as people may dislike it. For an F-Zero stage that correlates to Black Shadow I would try Lightning or Fire Field. I would also say it is too early to begin drawing up ideas for a Kid Icarus: Uprising stage, but if I had to take an early guess I would probably say the Underworld or one of the more ornate surface cities will probably be what Sakurai chooses.

DLC doesn't always mean that you pay money, bro. Think of it like Pokemon Events. Get Wi-Fi up and running, and recieve the character online. Obviously, there'd be some differences.

As long as they don't plan out what content they'll release as DLC at the beginning of development (which is what Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios did with their DLC for Mortal Kombat 2011), then I'm fine with it. Deciding what should be DLC should be a natural occurrence for Sora (like when they realize that they can't finish a character or stage or whatever before the game goes gold), I don't see why DLC should ever be a planned sort of thing.

Clone characters would be awesome DLC content. That way you could choose if you'd want them or not. All cut Melee characters besides Mewtwo would be great for this.
