Yep, that too. Patches would also be used as online updates to your game to prepare for DLC (they would patch in some data so that if you choose to download DLC, the game can recognize the data)

Paid dlc that goes live the day the game drops is annoying as hell. Just include it in the game.

I'm not sure how balancing patches would go because their definition of balanced is only applicable in a 4 man free for all on 75 m

Move set changes have been done before and we should expect a few Final Smashes to change. Being part of Pit's Final Smash will not stop Palutena because Uprising will give Pit plenty of choose from for potential new moves and there is good chance he could get a new Final Smash as a result of it. This in return could result in Palutena becoming playable with her own move set and using her own variation of "Palutena's Army" as in Brawl.
Technically Pit's FS is based on how he fights fortress bosses in the original game, Palutena had nothing to do with it, so technically having her being a part of the FS wasn't even nessesary. Heck, having her being the only NPC in SSE wasn't really required either.

Sakurai did more work than nessesary when he redesigned her, and at least IMO, that shows a lot of bias torwards her (and shows his dedication to both the Smash and KI series).

I really want to see something new out of the Wii-U at E3 2012 and exciting titles. For one, I'd like to series that got skipped out of the Wii to make a return to console. Star Fox and F-zero are the two series I want to see back the most. Smash 4 official unveil would be awesome as well.
Agreed. Personally I want to see a new F-Zero, Pikmin 3, and of course, Smash 4.

At least Palutena actually got a good makeover over the years. Still, I've never actually played Kid Icarus, since it's basically the king of insanely hard games.

I still think Bowser should be the biggest, heaviest character. Nothing stopping them from making Bowser even larger than he was in Brawl. He was bigger in Brawl than he was in Melee, after all.

Ridley can be second largest. BD

Then K. Rool I guess.
I think that King K. Rool should be the one to surpass Bowser in the weight department; at least, beat Bowser by a couple points.

Maybe I should've said the Kid Icarus is easily one of the hardest games made by Nintendo. Of course, I'm not very familiar with Ghosts n' Goblins.

I can't really compare the two in Mario Super Sluggers, but if I had to guess, they're nearly around the same height.

DLC doesn't always mean that you pay money, bro. Think of it like Pokemon Events. Get Wi-Fi up and running, and recieve the character online. Obviously, there'd be some differences.
^this is what I meant sorry I forgot to mention that. Including Lucario and Mewtwo as free DLC would be a good way to get both characters into the game without people complaining, and it would get fans excited about the availability of DLC without people complaining about having to pay for post-launch DLC. Nintendo has announced DLC for FE13 so I could easily see new stages, music, costumes, and characters being added in, along with balance patches (although hopefully the devs don't see the availability of patches as an excuse to get lazy when developing the game).

And for some reason I thought Uprising had been released when I made that last post *facepalm* so that can be ignored.

Imagine Ike with Urvan (a giant axe), different guns / beam attacks for the StarFox characters and Samus, TMs for Pokemon (new B attacks)... Possibilities are endless! And it would make each fight more unique.

As I said in the comments, I prefer Black Mage or Cloud myself but Slime seems more popular (and Cloud has only cameo'd in a Nintendo game).
Go for Black Mage, then. It'd be a REAL magic user, but has easy attacks like knives, etc.

Also, I'm trying to build a stage roster as well and I need ideas for stages in these categories

*A Dragon Quest stage.
*An Earthbound stage.
*A Fire Emblem stage.
*A F-Zero stage for Black Shadow.
*An Ice Climbers stage.
*A stage from Kid Icarus: Uprising.
*A Starfy stage.
*A stage from the original Megaman.
*A Metal Gear Solid stage.
*A Punch-Out!! stage.
*A Sin & Punishment stage.
*A Star Fox stage that's not a clone of the 4 existing Star Fox stages.
*A stage from a Wario Land game.

Music for any of these would be appreciated as well.
Dragon Quest, it could easily be... a box with changing background environments. No ledges, and only the top is open. I cannot see any way to make anything beyond remaking Corneria with a new ship, etc. I got nothing else, unfortunately.

I actually really liked Castle Seige as a Fire Emblem stage. I hope it returns, or a stage similar to it is made.

Starfox Stage.... I know it's a bit old, but how about Fortuna? It's actually the closest thing there is to our planet in it, i'm fairly sure. There's grass, forests, dirt, plains, ocean, it'd be great to have a stage there, although they'd really need to do some work with it to upgrade the graphics :-P

Man, maybe bit like how Otomedius handled the Weapon Card-system, giving us huge range of weapons and upgrades from Konami SHMUPS wholewide to do our customisable weapon set!!!! I'd really like to see this done. It would corporate quite a lot elements and moves for each character anyway:

- Megaman could get different kind of Robot Master weapons to use

- Isaac (if there's a possibility) could use different kind of Djinns

- Starfy could access up his Magic Point-based moves from Starfy 4 ( Star Coin, 'Barrier' Starly used), also he put on those costume outfits throughout his games to aid him, like the scaring panda, Monstar, Little Dragon from Starfy 2, etc.

- Link (and especially Toon Link) could get to access different items from their games too

- Kirby gets different ability powers to use, much like Megaman

and Soo on. Maaan, I'm in love with this idea.

Fortuna doesn't have nearly as much as Corneria. I'm for it. I'm getting a bit tired of rehashing the same courses. Honestly, I would've liked Poke Floats to return.

To be fair, making unique Metroid stages is apparently harder than we thought. I mean, they've remade Zebes three times now. They'e already remade Brinstar Depths once. Likewise, am I the only one that would've been fine with the Depths remake and had another Kirby stage instead?

Sorry, there are only four possibilities I see for a potential Dragon Quest stage. Alefgard (Dragon Quest I-III), Zenithia (Dragon Quest IV-VI), The Observatory (Dragon Quest IX), or the new land from Dragon Quest X Astortia. Those four are all iconic settings that play a large role in each trilogy or game.

Take it from the Square Enix guy.

In particular I'd like the Observatory. I ALMOST made this the basis for my Dragon Quest stage concept. Perhaps I'll even change it...

Wait, Hyper, are you saying you like it or don't like it? I wasn't suggesting you use a starfox ship to travel across this planet, btw. You'd have your very own method from forest to plains to Ocean.

I'll give you the info in a bit. :)

And they can also take it from Enix guy or square soft guy, but those are also kind of you so i'll just leave it at that :D

I never finished most of them. I was basing it upon the actual battle screen. The monster appears in a box.

To be fair, there's too many courses as is that are literal fighting arenas. We need more of them.

@Luco: I want FORTUNA, not Corneria or another remake of Venom. To clarify.

Ahhh, let me see, I wonder whether this'll be power-stony or not?

Plains: This is probably the most boring of the three and functions similar to that of Mushroomy Kingdom in Brawl. However, there aren't even as many obstacles. What makes this part of the trip a wild ride is whats in the background, above and all around you. Arwings will be flying, Lasers will be shot, you may even find yourself (partially, mind you) blinded when a ship tumbles down from the sky and EXPLODES in a flash of fire in the background. You may pick up radio signals from the arwing and hear one of the famous starfox team or General Pepper, or perhaps one of Starwolf's team. It's this part of the trip that leads you to the forest.

Forest: Once you have arrived here there won't be as much need for walking ahead as the stage moves; The plants grow so fast they'll carry you along. The background is extremely forest-y, and you'll be led up and up, maybe even in to the clouds, before one of the plants bend and takes you down to the edge of the forest. that is to say, where the forest meets the sea.

Ocean: This is the part that won't be too bad if you're a good maneuver er (in air, that is) You'll find yourself jumping from fishy to fishy for a little bit, before you find the sea Serpent's back and ride along it, jumping from each part of it's back to the next as it dips in to the water. While riding along this pleasant journey you might notice some ships flying and ships falling in to the ocean as they prepare their everlasting night at the bottom of the ocean. You'll perhaps see one of the famous 'healing rings' that the arwings fly in to: First person to jump in to said ring heals about 20-30 percent. You can fight or just spend your time admiring the clouds, before the sea serpent suddenly stops. It's back to fish again as you make your way through the shallow water and back on to land, the plains, and the sequence runs through again.

Or, something along those lines, maybe.

How does that sound?

Then why not use newcomers for free DLC if they want to achieve the same effect? People will still complain because they aren't initially part of the roster and they expects vets to be available from the start. There's no reason to force consumers to wait to play as vets from previous games. Just include them there.

And yes, the possibility of DLC is exciting. But if Nintendo wants to be seen as a company that does things different, it needs to be done properly.

I love it, Luco. I don't even need to do more than skim to know this is good. That's how good it is. :D

I'm not against character DLC. That would've been perfect in Brawl, soooo... think about it for a second.

And as i've said, hiring ended in October, meaning the team has to be working on something or they are still without jobs. Brainstorming and per-development could easily be happening without Sakurai.
