Just finished the Pokemon Gen 1 Manga Arc.

WHY THE HELL ISNT MEWTWO THAT SEXY IN SMASH?

My ***** does need a whole moveset revamp!

N doesn't post as much because he feels that most of it is the same thing over and over again.

He shares the same hatred of the cycle like I do, just stronger, so he stays away more.

Yep, N is so Quick Man.

But yeah, I'm starting to get like that too, such a shame.


As for those Sakurai Pics, like aways they more than likely don't mean anything. Although I will admit I'm jealous of all those CDs and the Ness figure.

While I will admit I do get bored of this thread every once in a while, hense my sometimes sudden outbursts of annoyance.

There is not going to be anything to talk about in regards to Smash Bros. speculation until the Kid Icarus Uprising OVAs are released. This could easily mean nothing to talk about until late January.

Still, due to the low key release of Return to Greatness, Waddle Dee did not develop much of a following. It seems Ghirahim is not very much requested either despite Skyward Sword being much higher profile.

However, looking at SSBF's poll, it is interesting to see that Victini has actually developed a fanbase, whereas Zoroark despite being around longer has not. Its also interesting to see how much support there exists for Mario characters.

Still for Geno, Fortune Street was his last chance at getting in over the Big 3. It is possible that there might be more characters in Fortune Street that we don't know about, however, it is looking really doubtful now.

Nowadays I'm just a lurker because I feel this thread has fallen exactly into the "cycle" trap that N and Iblis agree on. All of our topics have already been said and are boring at that. I love you guys - it's a little community we've got here -, but I feel there's little I can add to the conversation when the conversation consists of little in the first place.

By the way, Sakurai just posted something that hints at Sonic returning in the next game. Oh, and Ness too.

The only oddity in any of Sakurai's Twitter posts is that Ness statue. Probably just a coincidence, but it's nevertheless odd he would have a statue of Ness's SSB model next to a Mario Kart 7 box.

We can design graphics in past stages like how you changed music for a stage in Melee or changed between Mushroomy Kingdom 1-1 and 1-2 in Brawl; for each past stage, there's a version with original graphics and one with updated graphics. When you select the stage, you can either let the game pick between the original and updated version randomly or hold down a certain button to go to either stage.

Toad seems to be on an upswing. He had a prominent nonplayable role in Mario 3D Land, and was the only serious Mario newcomer contender to be a playable character in Mario Kart 7. Waluigi and Bowser Jr. were both absent from them. However, I think we will see a lot more Paper Mario support once Paper Mario 3DS is finally released. Really, there is the potential that the battle for the Mario newcomer spot will eventually become Toad vs. Paper Mario.

I am still scratching my head as to why Ghirahim has not caught on as a character to support. I do think that both Palutena and Medusa will become very popular once Uprising is released.

There is not going to be anything to talk about in regards to Smash Bros. speculation until the Kid Icarus Uprising OVAs are released. This could easily mean nothing to talk about until late January.

There's a potential announcement coming mid-December for new Pokemon stuff. Which could easily mean Pokemon Gray, a 15th movie, or a reveal of Keldeo/Meloetta/Genesect. If of course Keldeo is revealed and it's also Kyurem form, it won't really affect speculation since Keldeo will not be taken seriously by many people. However, I have seen two hidden symbols. If there are two hidden Pokemon revealed and it's Meloetta, expect it to gain aggressive supporters.

Ghirahim seems to be viewed in a mostly positive manner (and here as well) and this game has helped increased Ghirahim's fan base in this place. So progress is being made (plus I've encountered a few Ghirahim supporters on Zelda Universe, here, and Youtube). There's still time to see how well Ghirahim does.

Also, while not as extreme, a few people are voting for Waddle Dee, but they're mostly on Youtube, which is interesting. Perhaps this is where the bulk of support is from (and I do consider Youtube a big place for speculation).

I have to agree that it's great to see Victini develop a stable fan base (and hopefully one that survives the reveal of the next Pokemon), however, from my observation (as much as I dislike to say this), Zoroark has one as well and probably with more supporters, however, they seem to be more quiet with the Victini fans being more proactive.

From what I've seen, things look good for Victini on Top Roster Candidates, however, it does not end until December 31th, 2011, so we'll see how it does.

ChronoBound, do you go on about those details because of how they may effect support ON THE BOARDS? Because they don't seem like important factors that may actually effect the roster.

People seem to think about Ghirahim "yeah he would be cool to have as a playable character", however, no one specifically seems to want him in. It might change over time though. However, I can easily see him becoming by far the favorite in regards to being Smash 4's Zelda newcomer. There will probably be a distant second for Tingle, with Impa in third.

I think Ghirahim might have a shot on the grounds of Sakurai lamenting the lack of new characters that are worthy enough to be placed into Smash Bros.

I don't think Sakurai ACTUALLY said that. It seems more like he just was saying how there wasn't a lot of new IP being made. Not saying the choices were slim. Because they aren't.

Also, the release of Uprising really won't hold ANYTHING NEW, except for the moveset makers, and of course SSB kicking off.

OKAY you little cats, I have a little game for you. You know how there was a charcter who couldn't be added into Brawl because of legal issues, I WANT YOU, to help me think up WHO that could of been. Of course FOR ME, it's sounds like Geno, but who else could it be?

He alludes to copyright issues as well. It's possible one or two characters originally in the design were cut due to legal issues.

It's very hard to get 3rd party characters though. There's fees to pay and Sakurai would have to go some pretty hectic legal issues to even get ONE

I doubt it was just the "forbidden 7" that didn't make the cut because at the GDC (Game Developer's Conference) back in March, he mentioned that a few characters weren't added due to legal issues and he didn't have time to set them straight like he did with Snake and Sonic.

The name of the track was something like mushroom forest. It never indicated that it was specifically from SMRPG, but it might have very well been. Couple that and the legal issues, it seems like the song was Beware of the Forest Mushrooms.

I'll bite a little.

Ganondorf should have a slight revamp, perhaps have Special Moves that bear a sword so it doesn't have to be a total revamp, though most would probably opp for him to just have it always or maybe hit the B button and unsheathe it to change his moveset and B again to put it away. Maybe also have his iconic power blast from Ocarina of Time where he fires some magic that can be hit back, and everytime hit it can perhaps grow, move faster, and do more damage once it hits anyone.

Also Demise (who seems to have almost no fanbase at this point as far as my nooby eyes can see) could have a moveset despite his short appearance. His up B could raise his sword and call down lightning unto it and electrify it, making it either do more damage or have a slight stun and when he does a Smash attack it flies out like a Skyward Strike. Kind of like Pikachu's down B but must come down and hit him so he stays in place. Or maybe after having your sword charged hit down B again to fire it. As for his up B he can do his crazy acrobatic leap he does maybe landing with a red shockwave, his over B could be like a charge that pushes anyone hit, and his standard B can be like a parry attack where he holds out his sword and blocks weapon-based attacks, and if he is electrified it stuns the attacker. And if Final Smashes stay,

he could become the Imprisoned and wreak havoc.

I'll just say that for now, but I shall add an idea that I said elsewhere: custom Special movesets where you can switch out different movepools for each character in order to personalize the experience and make each individual Mario perhaps different in playstyle, which according to the 3DS business, sounds probable ignoring how large the task would be (though not everyone would need many moves to pick from). Just a thought.
