Max is the ultimate Shining Force hero.(that's the third SF abbreviation here!) Ralph is the only true rival on the Zelda series. Dark Link really doesn't count as he's not so much a rival as the ultimate personal villain. That, and most rivals aren't completely evil.

SSBF: You forgot Shy Guy(who, may I remind you, I greatly support as a second Yoshi rep).

Shy Guy is a generic enemy though. The only kind of representation that's likely to happen for it, is either as an enemy, an Assist Trophy, or a stage element.

See the problem with this? Likewise, yeah, I'm with Kantrip. Being Generic isn't a big problem anymore.

Considering Shy Guy is one of the few Generic Enemies you can play in in various games, I'd say that's no longer a relevant point.

He is, however, a Super Mario invention and therefore lumped into the very exclusive club of Mushroom Kingdom-goers. He is just not up to specs as far as Mario Canon goes.

If you were replying to me, Kantrip(due to, you know, me having some people on ignore), I do agree Shy Guy isn't of much relevance compared to some of the other ones. Like Koops would be a bit more important due to being notable.

Yoshi is notable in Super Mario 64, as well as the Super Mario World TV Show, Yoshi's Story, both versions of Yoshi's Island. It's true, he's part of a generic race, but he's still a secondary character. Along with Toad.

I could see one of the Paper Mario partners getting in as well. Vivian would be neat.(and my personal pick) Here's hoping for a Shy Guy partner!

WELL, to be completely honest, when Yoshi got his own symbol, I don't think Sakurai predicted his downfall. HONESTLY if he would have had at least two or three more games after Yoshi's Island for the DS, MAYBE Kamek/other Yoshi characters would be considered? I mean, look at Mother. Although Mother definitely has storylines/characters behind it to make a second inclusion look right and make sense.

Ness and Lucas, makes sense. We have three STRONG storylines, with three groups of heroes and villains. Yoshi has a shaky storyline, with a single main character returning the whole time. Yoshi. We have Kamek/BBowser showing up... but they aren't HEROES. They aren't Lucas. They're....Giygas I guess. They don't compare to what Lucas, and Ninten ARE.

I don't even think they really can compare to what Porky and Claus are... I dunno. I think there is some legitimacy behind including Mother characters, and not Yoshi characters. They both may be little franchises...that are dead... but what Mother is, and what Yoshi is, AND what they can bring.... are two different things.

Anyways let me propose a little game to the Super Smash Bros 4 thread. Let us pretend that Sakurai is holding a poll similar to the one for Brawl, and all of us Westerners have the opportunity to participate and vote. Just as with Brawl you have one of three categories you can select to cast a vote in; characters, stages and music. If all of you had the opportunity to cast one vote what category would you select and what would your vote be? If you want to you can explain the reasoning behind why you would vote for that particular thing. Feel free to elaborate.

Exactly what games was he the main character in? I mean, besides among a few others. What games did he specifically star in? I've never seen a single game where he's more than the supporting cast.(New Super Mario Bros. Wii doesn't count, that was two generic Toads, and not the main one anyway.

Super Mario Bros. 2? If anybody sees the actual ending, Mario's pretty much the main guy, while the rest are the supporting secondary characters.

I am interested in which game(s) where Toad is the overall main character, though.

So does Shy Guy. Shy Guy has a ton of potential movesets just because of how MANY kinds of Shy Guy there are. Snifits, Fly Guys, Tribal Guys, Stilt Guys, Camoflauge Guys, Medi-Guys, Balloon Guys, Dancer Guys... The list goes on and on.

True. But regardless, I think Shy Guy could be more unique than Kamek because Shy Guy could have a much more diverse moveset. And Baby Mario/Luigi would have to take all of their moves from Partners In Time, making them moreso a Mario character. So, REALLY, the only viable Yoshi reps are Kamek and Shy Guy.

I can't see Yoshi getting a rep at all for SSB4. The most reasonable characters from that series to me is Kamek, yet he appeared in more Mario games than in Yoshi game while still considered a Yoshi series character

Personally, I'd like Yoshi to get a new Final Smash where he turns into an egg while Baby Mario becomes playable. Baby Mario's Final Smash would be kicking Yoshi's egg to an enemy for an one hit KO (a la the Smash Egg item in Partners in Time)... then Yoshi hatches and is playable again with Baby Mario riding on his back.

What I would like to see changed in Yoshi is this. Switch his Side B & his Up B. The Side B would be him shooting the egg, which will function similar to how it did in Yoshi's Story. And for the Up B, have him go in his egg and shoot upward just like in Yoshi's Story.

I dont know if its just me, but Yoshi is starting to become a stale character to me after Brawl. There just really hasn't been much changes to him other than his stance and his current Up B giving you that short hop.

I just unlocked Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee in the Arena for Kirby's Return to Dream Land. I have to say that Waddle Dee (Bandanna Dee) would be a fun character to play as in Smash Bros. if his spear moveset from Kirby's Return to Dream Land is anything to go by. I think if Kirby had to have a fourth character, that fourth character should definitely be Waddle Dee. However, I personally think Kirby's playable representation is perfect as is (along with Zelda, Star Fox, and Mother).

No, he's fine. I like his moveset. I think he needs his egg throw and egg lay specials improved. His egg throws are usually inaccurate... I'd like the eggs to go straight in the direction the X cursor is at. His tongue needs to be longer and the opponent is encased inside the egg a bit longer. Oh, and his tongue should be used as a tether recovery move like with Link's Hookshot. He also needs multiple jumps like Kirby because that's what he did in his games. Either keep his Final Smash or give him a new one where he switches to Baby Mario.

I've actually seen someone suggest Koopa the Quick(the Koopa you race in SM64) for Sm4sh on Youtube. I thought that was so stupid. I also saw someone suggest Naruto and PETER ****ING GRIFFIN for Smash! So I said, "You've gotta be kidding." And he said, "No. I'm very serious." So I was like WTF?! Yep.
