And also, I never watched Ren & Stimpy as a kid, and I didn't have too much experience with Rocko. I watch those shows because I just like animation that much (and they're considered classics now).

An interest in animation is probably not enough to get me to watch My Little Pony yet, though.

I strongly recommend that folks read that manga that Try-hi is referring to, it gives Pokemon a different flavor by giving life to the game's storyline.

Favorite member? Can't really say I have any. There's no one here that I can truly say I dislike (there are GameFAQs members I do dislike, however) and the only exception to the rule (not telling who) is inactive.

I'm actually liking the recent change in pace. It gives us the opportunity to dive into other subjects such as Adventure modes and game play and sparks up pace in this thread.

Ed, Edd, N Eddy was one of my childhood shows. I once had an Ed costume for Halloween. I don't think anyone but my family knew who I was.

Anyways, I'm going off-topic, but I'll just post one more show, and one that's far older than anything anyone here has mentioned.


Now then, on-topic, how would people like Adventure Mode levels to be designed with a Metroidvania feel in level design?

I've had this idea before, but no one responded. Basically, each level is a sort of "world" in itself in that there are numerous alternate routes and rooms one can find. These alternate areas could lead to unique unlockables like trophies or stickers, alternate exits to the level (which give you a special bonus I guess), or even entrances to new, hidden levels one cannot access through any other means.



Also, were people earlier in this thread referring to the LTJ Bukem song I posted or the Dramatic Cue? I'm confused.

Ehhh, it's OK, but Brawl tried something similar. The adventure mode is fine with just straight forward levels. Just improve the game itself is all.

I'll try to post my idea for adventure tonight sometime later.

Honestly, it could have gone either:

Kirby, Meta Knight
Kirby, DDD

Ness, Porky
Lucas, Masked Man / Claus

And, I chose DDD because he's been around longer, and I just couldn't decide between Ness and Lucas. Either duo is a fine IMO.

I completely understand the first paragraph. SSE could easily have been labeled "Kirby Joins With Nintendo All-Stars for an Adventure in Generic Land". Adventure Mode should have influences from all the game worlds and characters Smash Bros. features.

That was a fun stage. I liked the Luigi cinematic you could unlock at the end - very unique way to hide a character.

Agreed on Rocko. Not that controversial is a bad thing. There's been cartoons with worse subtle messages, anyways.

As for your list, I would swap Lucas for Ness and Ice Climbers for Mr. Game & Watch because Ness is, IMO, a better representative for Mother as a whole and Mr. Game & Watch represents a more important part of Nintendo I'd like to emphasize more, and also would still be very unique. I would add Wario and Yoshi in there too if I could, but obviously there can be no more than twenty veterans.

As for newcomers, I'd swap Young Link and Masked Man / Claus for either two more veteran spots (Wario and Yoshi), or if not that, for Chibi-Robo and Palutena I guess. Maybe swap one of the Pokemon newcomers for the return of Charizard, too.

Otherwise, it's a nice roster given those conditions.

I think you guys need to remember the point of the roster was: 20 Veteran slots. I had to cut, that was the hard part. Critisize WHO I cut, not THAT I cut please

Ness > Lucas fine.

Game & Watch > IC's no way cattray. Ice Climbers brought something unique to the game. Although we have Chrome & Liz now... they ARE a Duo... just they wouldn't work the same, I don't think. I dunno, I guess this cut came down to Freshness. Game & Watch does represent more, yes. But so did ROB. If I was going for Representation, ROB > IC's, and G&W.
