There is a bumch of poop, in need of scooping.
Firstly, Toon Gnondorf may be an "Eh, okay that's wierd, but whatever" Cool Idea, but it's simply not going to happen. Link, Zelda/Sheik will take SS designs, Ganondorf will take SS/OoT design, and the child link will take the Toon/OoT/MM design. BOOM. I think Toon Ganondorf is interesting, but a terrible, terrible, TERRRIBLLEEEEE real world choice. Because, he would be a clone. ALL OF THIS IS "MOST LIKELY" type stuff of course, because I am no Suami.

Oasis is the Plusle to my minun. The HeartGold to my SoulSilver. The B I to my T C H. We're cats, Omega is not. And I don't know of anyone who is scared of OMega. The laughing we do isn't a nervous one. :troll: Omega can be a pug. Try Hi is a Sassy Weasle. Kuma is a nice bear that lets me sleep on his back because that's what nice bears do. Toise is the mean, unloving step father. He has no personified animal. His demenor is fierce enough. Like Project Runway. ANYWAYS, I win the off topic award of the night. MEOW.

So hey, who here is still hyped about the new game's development?

I've given up on the notion somewhat, but have a newfound interest.
Sure we talk about whats reasonable or foreseeable, yet for some reason I don't think that's what keeps us coming back to the discussion.

It'd be pretty cool to know what that is from different perspectives.

Ps. thanks for the welcome, to those who still remember me.
I think the hype's died down a bit due to lack of news.

As for what keeps us coming back, I personally don't know.

I myself, just happen to have a fun time around here and it's nice to be a part of something for once.

@Oasis
I'm doing out of spite against SmashChu.
So you two have a rivalry going on?

Can't you guys just make out and get it over with? The sexual tension is killing me. Sorry, I'm a little drunk. My cousin left wine sitting in her room and I decided it would be fun to drink it all. End of story, it tastes like berry Vinegar, and I'm only slighly tipsy. DAMN.

i really don't get why Sakurai has shied away from alt costumes. I'm thinking of Mario's various power ups as alt costumes, yarn kirby, young link, retro and werehog sonic. I think it'd be a nice touch.
To be fair, he already has enough space used on the Wii disc. It was double layered and a slow enough game as is. Anything more than Dr. Mario and Young Link would've really slowed the game down worse than it already is.

@Kuma: I'm glad you kept it more Smash-like. Follow-ups are interesting, but mostly as specials, IMO.

@Sunnysunny: I'm going to have to disagree on that. Potions are in more games than berries, and are shown even more often in the Anime and are just as well known. Likewise, Potions are easier to find and are used just as often as Berries in regular gameplay. Albeit, in competitive play, perhaps, but that's because of a no-item rule. Where they're allowed, various Potions are used heavily.

Most definitely, I don't always appreciate as much as I should, but I really enjoy including you guys as a part of my life.
Something about a Cybernetic community yada... in the loosely paraphrased words of Starphoenix.

On a different note, I'm pretty 'hyped' that KumaOso has been chatty lately. Something we've discussed has recently been on my mind .

I've tried, but SmashChu's like that ***** who simply refuses to put out.

But I'll always be that cuddly panda, but mess with me, my loved ones, or hurt an innocent animal or child and you get this:

That's kind of how it is in traditional fighters anyway unless you count chains as followups.

@hyperfalcon Its just the whole pokemon can't use em without the help of a trainer thing that bugs the crap outta me. ._. Its a petty point though, so lets agree to disagree. =w=

Some traditional fighters. Sonic Battle has the control style of Smash, but plays like a Traditional Platformer. And chains are practically as close as we have, since we make the combos ourselves anyway.(I think that makes it the most interesting, combos not being telegraphed, but eh)

@Sunnysunny: Pokemon Trainer exists, though. :troll: Plus, can Pokemon use swords in general either?(not counting ones with attached swords) Pokemon can't use any items themselves, but still do in Smash, so that reason is debateable.

The thing is, I kind of like it like Smash has been doing, but at the same time I don't. The current design, thanks to the prominence of DI, makes everyone essentially a mixup character, for a lack of better words. Combos, especially chains, make the pace faster, make reads more rewarding, etc., but I am ok with something like this:

SFIV Sakura is known for her resets. She can do one of her BnBs and go for a reset or more damage. This kind of thing I'd be fairly OK with in Smash. Combos aren't Marvel long, but it does emphasize reading, spacing, and risk:reward.

...Did you just call Sakura Sakurai? Funny typo. And I haven't played IV yet, so I can't say much about it.

Also, I get what you mean, and I do generally agree with making combos more interesting. But as long as they're not beyond difficult to pull out as well. I think Dancing Blade is something that's kind of neat. It is telegraphed, but it still uses the same overall controls in the long run.(I hate how easy it is in Brawl to do, to be honest) I think a few more moves like this would actually allow great combos without heavily modifying the core gameplay. IMO.

Lol, I just fixed it.

And believe me, I want combos to be easy save for some of the advanced ones (because they'll always exist, intentionally or not). That's why I suggested chains because it's dial-a-combo. Include things like jump canceling and special canceling so you aren't stuck with basic combos all time and to further increase the diversity.

I'm surprised that we're coming to a much better discussion about this. This is how discussion works I guess. Someone comes up with something radical and truly, truly, truly outrageous and then the idea is refined.

I'm contextless here, but I think I'd be happy to see the trainer as gimmick that is one and only. (exclusive to Red/Ash)

Not so much the switching they way they've implemented.

Trainer applied potion!

ok, now drop it.

This is how discussion works I guess. Someone comes up with something radical and truly, truly, truly outrageous and then the idea is refined.

I just saw a little bit of it. It looks rather messy. It looks like Power Stone more than Smash.

Makes sense, really. Also, the typo is funnier.

I honestly tried to work with Fighter Maker, but programming moves is really damn difficult.

Define messy? Do you consider any of the smash's messy?

:phone:
It looked all cluttered up. One thing Smash has been consistent with, thanks to its K.O. method, is that if the game is where everyone is cluttered up, it's only briefly thanks to the knockback on attacks.

@Hyper Falcon
Here's a sample of what I have in mind. I'll use my Krystal moveset.

AAA > UTilt > Jump Cancel > NAir > Fast-fall> AA > FTilt* > DSmash > Special Cancel > Far Quake if opponent tech rolls away from you > Jump Cancel > FAir > Jump Cancel > Aerial depending on DI direction.

*The timing for this requires that you do it where the DSmash lands afterwards so you must delay the input a bit.
Notice though the combo is actually three separate combos.

And what you'll notice is that there are two points where the opponent can escape. Thus, you can have your cake and eat it too.

That's a large combo Kuma.

The largest one I've come up with is on my Palutena Moveset:

D-Special > N-Special > F-Special > attack with D-Special > Centurion hits > follow up with Aerials

Exactly. To be fair, I don't like Infinites that much in Brawl, but since we lack any real combos outside of stuff like Pikachu's AAA(etc) or Dancing Blade, they're a necessary evil.

Here's one for Fox:

FTilt > DTilt > if opponent DIs forward > Special Cancel into Shine > USmash > If Opponent DIs to behind you > Bair > Jump Cancel > DAir > Okizeme followup.

Based off of this context, the only moves in the combo with the DI property are DTilt and USmash.

Right. To be honest, I'm not good with depth. Not to say I haven't worked on my own fighting game ideas. I think I even made a game called Nintendo Fighter a bit after or before SSB was made. Fun stuff all around.(it was a Traditional Fighter controls-wise)

I've worked on my own too, heh.

Ill read it when I'm not craving mexican food and the neighbor's hot roomate. Sooo, kumie I've been wondering if you could think of any smash characters who could play the puppetier? Like carl clover and nirvana? I like the playstyle a loooooot.

Ice Climbers are a start, but that'd be weird. Other than them, there's Toon Link and Toon Zelda. I'm not quite sure a Carl-like character would work in Smash from a practical standpoint.

Yeah I don't think so either. What about the way booby lady or rachel place things? Also the y girl tsabuko yayoi or whatever, what does her drive do? I like her, but have no idea how to use her drive.

Litchi is more less implemented via Krystal. A Rachel-like character could be done with Toon Link via the Wind Waker. Tsubaki could be done through Ness or Lucas or any one with a history of self-buffing moves as her Drive pretty much allows her to use stronger versions of her specials.

IDK about you guys, but I like the new thread than the old one. With people like Pieman, Chu, Toise, and Furrybound, the thread was way too serious. While the derping here can get out of hand, I enjoy the more friendly atmosphere in this thread. Not only that, but the background of the posters is more diverse. Now we have casual and competitive players here with the occasional FG players like ETwist and Smooth Criminal to spice things up.

I always wanted Kirby's Final Smash to be Crash.
This

----

My custom moveset for Ganondorf

SPECIALS

Neutral B : Magic thunderball

Ganondorf's projectile. It helps him in his pressure game and deals a lot of damage (12%). It's also reflectable by any attack. The more its deflected, the more damage it deals (+2%). It also tracks the opponent slowly but it goes faster as it is deflected

Forward B : Murder choke

Same as brawl. Great tech chasing tool

Downward B : Flames of darkness

Ganondorf summons purple dark flames that stays on the ground. It's as tall as Mario dealing 14% damage. It can be spawned from the air BUT it still appears on the ground. Good for offensive set ups.

Upward B : Gerudo flight

Ganondorf flies upwards as dark magic surround him. He can aim it at 8 directions. This move deals 10% damage PLUS it has very high priority. It also clanks with projectiles.

Final smash : Dark Beast Ganon

Ganondorf transforms into a beast and brings out 2 swords. You have a new moveset for 10 seconds. Too lazy to say it but his A attacks have something to do with his swords and his specials are the same except it's upgraded.

You definitely got more guff for your crappy ideas back then, seems like people just ignore you now in favor of whatever stupid distraction comes up.

Text makes for more seemingly serious discussions though, yes. Can't do anything about that unless you people wanted me to post Bruins gifs all day.

Shouldn't Toise be a tortoise.

Always thought the name was a play on "BlasTOISE i CHOOSE you!"

I think it is much better than any sort of actual explanation. Hm yes quite.

Spouted the name when a clutch Blastoise won a time match in Melee for me and my brother.

I always pick Venusaur and my brother's a Charizard guy, so don't dwell on it.

Who's your friend Toise?

Defnitely a Water guy. Blast/Fer/Swamp/Emp/Sam have all been my choices. (Well, I DID choose Cyndaquil in Gold, BUT KNOW ONE HAS TO KNOW)

Hopefully, if they go with a new trainer, they stick with "Most popular" formula, not a 3rd Fire, 2nd Grass, 1st Water thing. Fer/Bay/Cyn is the best choice for 2nd gen.

The stuff of legends.

Imagine if it hadn't been a Blastoise. You'd be saying things like "CLEFAIRY COINS" or "PORYGON PESOS."

Oasis... Ostmarks? No no, that's completely awful.
