IDK about you guys, but I like the new thread than the old one. With people like Pieman, Chu, Toise, and Furrybound, the thread was way too serious. While the derping here can get out of hand, I enjoy the more friendly atmosphere in this thread. Not only that, but the background of the posters is more diverse. Now we have casual and competitive players here with the occasional FG players like ETwist and Smooth Criminal to spice things up.

I always wanted Kirby's Final Smash to be Crash.

Hmmm... I started watching Xenoblade videos in a walkthrough form. If I can, I'll try to make a moveset for Shulk. Looks like a really great game so far.

Hmm, well lets not get into an old thread vs new thread discussion, not only is it off topic, it's about as dumb as the Melee vs Brawl discussions.

As for the FE list, instead of characters, to make it easier I'm going to do classes. And yes, Burger Knight will still count. ;)

@On-Topic: So what can Shulk do exactly? I haven't watched any gameplay videos yet nor have I heard anything other then that he wields a red sword-blade thing.

So far, not much, seeing as where I am at the moment, he hasn't received the Monodan (the red sword) yet. I'm only on part 6 of 81.

It's funny, I remember trying to get some SHULK DISCUSSION going on a while back, but now I have so much doubt about him that I think it would all be pretty pointless. :awesome:

Though, I guess his only SAVING GRACE would be if it would actually make an interesting fighter. But apparently no one knows anything about him!

Oh wow, you're going to watch it all, Opossum? You are the STRONGEST opossum in the whole world.

Funny I could say the same thing about Takamaru.

For now I'm guessing that the Wii RPG characters have really good chances to be ATs, Shulk is the only one I have some confidence about making it playable.

So if you find anything about his games Opossum, feel free to educate us about him. ;)

More like the most bored in the whole world. I literally have nothing else to do. But I'm not complaining. I got to some of the actiony parts. It looks great so far. Looks like Shulk relies, at this point, on medium-range semi-heavy sword swings. Just a normal sword at the moment, not the Monado yet. He can definitely bring something to the table.

EDIT: Okay, so Shulk just got the Monado and used it in battle. It's a pretty cool weapon. One attack from it, these are called Monado Arts, is the Monado Buster, which deals extremely heavy damage. Shulk hauls it over his head, a huge blue blade extends from it, and he slams it down on the opponent. Pretty much Ike's forward smash, but about three times the range. Could make a cool neutral B, where it would be charged slowly, and then inflict damage based on how long the charge is, as well as determine the range.

Also noteworthy, the Monado is said to not be able to cut flesh, but only the Mechon, the game's evil legion of robotic titan enemies. Fits for Smash, but sucks for ROB...

Actually, how is talking about the SSB4 threads off topic in the SSB4 thread discussion?

kirby's final smash should be the attack he uses when he swallows that bomb thing.(has a skulll on it i think)
Just for future reference, that is Crash. :)

I honestly think Kirby's Final Smash should be Grand Hammer, honestly. That or Ultra Sword. Maybe Monster Flame?

Okay here's my list in order of wants for Kirby's FS:
Grand Hammer
Ultra Sword
Monster Flame
Crash
Flare Beam
Mike
Snow Bowl
Cook

Okay I think I have unique healing items for the All Star Rest Area idea.

Mario franchise: Star Candy (Bowser's Inside Story)
DK franchise: Golden Banana (Donkey Kong 64)
Yoshi franchise: Super Happy Heart (Yoshi's Story)
Wario franchise: Garlic cloves (Wario Land: Shake It!)
LOZ franchise: Heart Container (Every Zelda game)
Metroid franchise: Energy Tanks (Every Metroid game)
Kid Icarus: Not sure (Don't know if Pit has a healing item)
ROB: Batteries (Since he is a toy that runs on a lot of them)
Ice Climbers: Vegetables (Like on The Summit in Brawl)
Kirby franchise: Maxim Tomatoes (Every Kirby game). Here, though, they heal like they did in Smash 64.
Pikmin franchise: Pikpik Carrot bunches (Pikmin 2)
Starfox: Not sure (they don't usually stop for lunch, ya know?)
F-Zero franchise: Fried Chicken (just cuz)
Pokemon franchise: Sitrus Berries
Fire Emblem franchise: Not sure (never played it before)
Mother franchise: Steak (Earthbound)
Mr. Game and Watch: Blob of Subspace (since he is made of the stuff)
Metal Gear Solid: Not sure (same reason as FE)
Sonic franchise: Chili dogs (they are his favorite food)

I need help with Kid Icarus, Starfox, Fire Emblem, and Metal Gear Solid. Any ideas?

Okay, so apparently now Shulk can have visions of the future to help him in battle. If he reacts and counter attacks in time, the future can change in his favor. Possible counter Down B, anyone?

I thought we had this healing item thing settled?

FE: Vulneraries
KI: Chalices
Metal Gear: Rations
F-Zero: Falcon Punch

Mario can always use Mushrooms.

Starfox has Energy Rings or Item Boxes.

If more than one Sonic characters gets in, Rings would make more sense. Also, Rings healed him well before Chili Dogs were in the games. Just noting.

Metal Gear Solid has Cigarettes, Syringes, and Rations. I'd choose Rations.

Fire Emblem could just have some kind of regular meat or sandwich. Or even, say, an emblem or something.(no pun intended)

Try-Hyphen beat me to the other one. Also, Pokemon has Potions, which were used first.

How about for just ONE Final Smash, the developers do about, say, three Final Smashes per character? They could be each randomly selected each time you do a FS, or you can pick which one you want to use via Menu or Character Settings (<IF that's even possible, haha).

Now, to explain the three different FS's...:
1- Short Range. The most damage-dealing FS out of the three, but at the cost of power, speed is harshly reduced and thus sacrificed. The damage could be almost close to an instant KO, if used properly. By that, I mean if you hit it at a certain angle (hit-box) at a certain point in time, it'd deal what a Homerun Bat would do; KO.

2- Medium Range. A decent, average FS attack that has decent speed and power put together. Also, when hit, it would do a random effect on the enemy (E.g. Fire, Ice, Stun, etc.).

3- Long Range. The Last FS that is used as a Long Range type attack, either projectile or instantly gets beside a foe due to its incredible speed. At the sacrifice for the speed, however, the power of the attack is severly reduced.
I know that may sound like a lot, and on top of that statement, "Character customization, whaaaat?!". Still. I know that most of us hate at least ONE FS attack that a character has. I, for one, dislike Peach's. Not because it sucks (it fulfills its purpose, believe me!), but because it's so...annoying. Grr. But if you think about it, you have a variety here, each different based to the character of their chosing. Here's a good example:

CHARACTER: Mario
FS: Short Range; "Super Fist" (<He does a Mega Punch which has short range, but incredible boosting power)

FS: Medium Range; "Cape Fall-Out" (<Idea based upon Mario's cape from Super Mario World. He would jump up and transform into "Cape Mario", then fly up above the screen and randomly come down on an enemy within XXX amount of space between him due to Medium Range FS)

FS: Long Range; "Twin Flame Dragon" (<Same one from Brawl, don't really remember the name of it)
Yes, I do realize that this could potentially be a bad idea and it could require a LOT of programming on the game developer's part, but since we're discussing FSes, this random idea popped into my head. Hope you all like it as much as I do! :)

I had a similar Idea with B moves being replaced like in touhou hisoutensoku. =p

It would be easier to balance characters if they had more option.
...but then I realized how long that would take to set up at tournaments. Sorta like the tekken x street fighter gem system. Uhg. Only that ideas horrible. :I

Am I the only one who thinks that there is a good chance that SSB4 is absent from E3 2012? And if there is anything at all, it will be a 10-20 second logo trailer shown at the very end of Nintendo's presser, with no actual info given?

Nintendo should make an RTS game. I bet an RTS character would be a fun addition to Smash. Their specials would build structures that effect their performance. Maybe you could implement some kind of resource gathering too, lol.

@Drclaw: ...Sadly, you have a point.

@Sunnysunny: The point was their most well known healing item, not whether a Trainer or not can use it.

I was thinking of this but not with new characters. I thought of maybe King K.Rool and Bowser can feud and you can command the Kremling Krew or Koopa Troop

Good, I've love Young Link back with original moves.

I'd prefer Toon Ganondorf with two swords. Unique moveset, plus, Fat Ganondorf is Fat. :p

Goodbye Toon Link

Hello slightly decloned Young Link with minimal IF ANY MM references. Let's be realistic about if for a second.

HOPEFULLY we get a new Majora's Mask level though.

Clones are clones. Toon Sheik should have taught you that.

I suppose that means Termina Bay could come back at the very least. Though I always thought Clock Town would be neat. :3

I think the only reason Termina Bay didn't return was because Adult Link was associated with Zelda II, where Young Link was associated with Majora's Mask.

Anyway, it was a great stage.

I'd still love for stages from all three games to return. I just wish there were more Brawl stages that were reasonable to fight on. I mean, the list is small.

Skyward Sword may not have Ganondorf, therefore, a Ganondorf from there is invalid.

That only leaves Toon Ganondorf as a playable character unless they re-use his other two models. But then again, two swords are better than one and would indefinitely make a more original moveset than yet another one sword user.
