Okay. Pokeball Pokemon to add or return in SSB4.
I want Scizor and Raikou to return from Melee, and I want Onix to return from SSB64.
To be added: Audino. Heals whoever released it.
I agree with Plusle and Minun, I have no idea why they were voted so high. Bomberman makes sense to me though, because he's actually pretty popular, but no one really avidly discusses him. (Why would they?) I'm more concerned why Medusa is so low.
I like how Plusle & Minun are only considered because of the Forbidden Seven when they probably aren't even part of the Forbidden Seven which is probably only the Forbidden... 5.5
Why is Toad so highly requested? Maybe I'm missing something, but... I don't find it very realistic honestly.
I also want Bomberman so I can act like my avatar. A bomb-happy Brawler.
You're clearly new. haha. Casual players LOVE them some Toad. A lot of people on here enjoy him as well. I don't really like him too much.

That's ten. And a lot of fan service packed in there. We could have essentially over a hundred characters "represented" if everyone got two pallete swaps.
@Omega: Do you imagine Sakurai looks at characters with the mentality "anyone could have a moveset!" Seriously, now. We KNOW he discounts characters just because he doesn't think they're viable. For any fighting game developer, you want to add characters that offer something new and different. It's not like ONO or whoever thought "I THINK I'LL ADD A MEXICAN TO STREET FIGHTER IV, and he can punch and kick I guess." SO THEN, when he looks back at old characters to find something interesting, is he going to pick a simple dog that laughs OR a samurai that uses loads of weapons and has plenty of archetypes to attribute to?
Or maybe a Mad Max knock-off with the ability to explode and reform himself.
He turned Captain Falcon into a Power Ranger, R.O.B. had plenty of robot archetypes to work with (not to mention we didn't have a robot in Smash previously. something new!), and the Ice Climbers obviously provided something unique as they are two characters in one that fight together at the same time.
THESE KIND OF SUBJECTIVE THINGS ARE, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, AN IMPORTANT PART OF DECISION MAKING that only silly people would discount.

Okay, I see where you are getting at, but wouldn't you say DHD would offer something unique? After all, he is a dog. I feel the way you said it is that he wouldn't provide any uniquesness or bring something new to the table, if anybody should be critized for that it should be Mach Rider, I mean, tell me, by looking at your logic what would he offer that Falcon hasn't already?
I understand that Sakurai may look for uniquesness but that isn't going to stop him if he looks at a certain character and shows interest, I'm not saying it will be DHD, but it's something to consider.

For every moveset I see for the dog, it really just gives the feeling that they're just trying to FORCE him to work because he doesn't readily offer anything interesting. I'm sure anything he could offer could be done better by other characters.
As for Mach Rider, he could have some similarities with Falcon, which would be appropriate as his game could be said to be the precursor to F-Zero, but the similarities aren't TOTALLY necessary. There are enough archetypes to draw from, and his own unique abilities (EXPLODING AND REFORMING YEEEAAAH) to make him HIS OWN THING.
