Some news spreading round is regarding some comments on Junichi Masuda's Twitter Account. When asked about making remakes of the GBA games Ruby & Sapphire, he responded by saying that the original games were important to him and thanked the user for his input, not that he'll "consider" it as spreading around the internet. While this isn't an indicator of Ruby & Sapphire remakes actually coming out, anything is possible.

I'll also be looking into this, so I'll keep you guys informed if I can.

Well, he's been requested since melee PLUS he's extremely popular. Waluigi's popularity is nothing compared to Toad's.

In Super Mario World 2 (?) Toad was playable. In the recent games, he was a second player option. And supposably in Super Mario 3D, He's a second-player choice as well. He ranks as the "Tingle" of the Mario series

The only unrealistic part I see is that he's already part of the gameplay thanks to Peach. But that means nothing ultimately. Atleast he's fully in the games already, right?

Toad with Bowser Jr.'s paintbrush would be the best solution. Toad is visually different than the other Mario characters (good design choice!), and then the paintbrush would make him INTERESTING. Toad's also more popular and iconic.

Olimar is just a similar shape, mostly.

Though I guess some of the moves that don't involve Pikmin would be fitting for Toad. He'd probably feel more similar to Squirtle STAT-WISE, though. Bit more powerful. Some of his moves would also work alright with Toad.

U-tilt and n-air? Yes.

Spores. SPORES. If he gets in the game, Sakurai will probably throw in some jabs and spore attacks (Mainly because it was used twice already). Like, summoning mushrooms or spitting out spore balls or something like that. I don't know.

So... On first, he fights... by not fighting?

He has 3 playstyles:

1.) Finding evidence - Basically, you find evidence with Wright. Finding evidence also deals damage. Also, Nick can throw evidence.

2.) Defense attorney - Can present evidence that shoots out laser projectiles for some reason.

3.) Pointing mode - Starts glowing. He has some sort of huge finger attack and throws a huge amount of documents.

Maya can protect Nick by summoning a spiritual shield or she can tackle the enemy.

His level 1 is Maya rushing towards the opponent

Level 2 is the judge slaming his gavel

Then his level 3 is to get the enemy guilty!!!! (Including Firebrand ). You need 3 evidences though

One thing I had thought about for MUSHROOM SUMMONING was that, like Peach's Turnips, he'd yank some out of the ground a la SMB2. Remember those? You'd build platforms out of them to help you reach higher places. So you could pull up about three I suppose (good thing he was the STRONGEST at pulling up things!) and then you could toss them. He'd carry them on his head, I suppose. Tossing all three would create a VERTICALLY larger hitbox. Oh, and they would act as platforms when they fall on the ground. Or walls. Absorb damage maybe? Not really sure of the applications of that. THINKING OUT LOUD HERE.
