Meh, that segement could have been much better. The only game footage they had was from Smash 64, Brawl, Red, Blue, Yellow, Snap, and Stadium.

So over all only the Smash Pokemon characters minus Lucario and Pichu were shown.

They did the main theme, Gen 1 battle theme, Anime Team Rocket, and Victory theme.

That's probably why. Could think of it as a knock-off? I DUNNO, it's kind of a silly rumor. I recall it being around even before the DOJO update, but of course that update only helped to PERPETUATE it.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, seeing as Smash got mostly 1st Gen Pokemon I believe the Pokemon company is mainly sticking with the 1st gen simply because it's iconic, I would honestly like to see a bit more like 2nd or maybe a bit of 3rd being represented as well, more variety helps.

Agreed. I don't hate the segment, it was well done. But I do think that it being a VG concert that they should have stuck with the games more than the cartoon.

But since it was mostly Smash Pokemon and Smash gameplay, I think this majorily helps support Red and Jigglypuff to stay. Personally I was just surprised that Jigglypuff got the same amount of attention as Pikachu.

Also it was nice to see SSE cutscenes along with Samus, Lucas and Mario make cameos.

I dont know, if Sakurai really hated Starfy so much, I dont see why he would even give any exposure. Especially as an assist trophy.

The same thing as Zelda/Sheik in Melee and Brawl-unpredictable.

However in Brawl both are very underpowered, and when worked with together are slightly underpowered. If they were both slightly under average alone, but slightly above average together this would be awesome with Zelda/Sheik, or all the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon.

zelda/sheik are very predictable... they have their own spots on the lists.

and if each pokemon trainer pokemon were an individual character it would go...

Squirtle- mid/high tier
ivysaur- bottom tier
charizard- mid/low tier
