Anyways, I doubt Rayman will get into the game; not because he's a third party character, because most people just wouldn't be able to see him in this game.

Considering that Sonic, Megaman, and Pac Man all got reveal trailers, don't you think Rayman would get one too if he were playable instead of just thrown on the site with "Here's the Rayman Trophy!"

Eh, Pac-Man had a picture up on the website for a few minutes/hours before his trailer was posted, so this could be a similar case. Still, I don't know if I believe he's playable, either.

Having revealed a possible third party rep that the mainstream audience would recognize only to be a trophy for no reason while revealing the playable character to be an obscure generic rpg animu swordsman would be a really dumb move on Sakurais part.

What sucks is that the reveal is RIGHT SMACK in the morning (where I live), so it'll be hard to view it.
E3 was livestreamed too.

Lol it dosn't matter thanks to Sal having leaked tomorrows info for no damn reason. Wouldn't care if RayMan was playable or not but to have him be shown as a trophy makes no sense with the character we are getting.
To people who don't visit these boards or know all the smash info it would come as a disappointment. Its like revealing Simon Belmont as an assist trophy on the same day they announce the Duck Hunt Dog as a playable character.

Well, there is that Neogaf rumor from awhile back where Ubisoft approached Sakurai with Rayman, but he turned them down.... Sounds a bit more than a rumor now.

Then why did they keep the trophy? What you are saying makes no sense. By your logic they would regret now to have Megaman in the game, because Capcom supports the WiiU even less than Ubisoft.

It is strange that Sakurai would dampen any newcomer's reveal with the reveal of third party characters getting their own trophies even if they may not be playable.
Especially if that newcomer is someone like Shulk, who while popular is, not hype enough to stand up against the shadow of something of that nature IMO.
